Fugitive mom 'uncomfortable,' wants out of prison

edition.cnn.com — A California woman who escaped from a Michigan prison more than 30 years ago and remade her life as a suburban mother of three is "extremely uncomfortable" back behind bars and wants to move the case through the courts as quickly as possible, her attorney said Monday.

  • contemplate, on 08/19/2008, -0/+2Why are we wasting U.S. taxpayer's money to keep this woman in prison? She made a mistake when she was 19. 30 or so years she stayed out of trouble, demonstrating she's not a career criminal. What are we taxpayers going to get for spending all this money on her? This is another example of why we have so many citizens in jail. Someone must be benefiting, probably getting rich, off the prison system in this country, it doesn't seem to be doing us much good otherwise.
