From the Start, the Space Race Was an Arms Race

nytimes.com — The "space race" was born a twin of the "arms race" during the cold war. But forget that. The US is squandering billions and billions on new weapons systems that will provide us with a blanket of hegemony in world military might. The irony is that we are destroying ourselves in our quest to defend ourselves against impotent "enemies."
