Freeport McMoran Chino Mines deliberate spill of acidic mine
fmisucks.org — The New Mexico Environment Department has reached a $276,000 settlement with Freeport-McMoRan Chino Mines Co. The pathetic settlement is for a deliberate spill of acidic mine waters and cyanide that contaminated groundwater in 2007 at the company’s Chino copper mine and Silver City.
