- msprout, on 10/12/2007, -7/+85There's two concrete laws in nature:
1. Matter can be neither created, nor destroyed.
2. If a thread is about Israel, every other post will belong to otherland. - Skab, on 10/12/2007, -17/+82israel has the right to defend herself from foxnews the white house press core announced today.
- DWatch, on 10/12/2007, -9/+59Title never says it all, you lazy bastard. Put in a description! A basic Who What Where When Why, or any two or three of those, SOMETHING, ANYTHING would be better than 'title says it all'. Lazy *****.
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -7/+54read his post again, he said antisemantic. As it, it's a matter of semantics as to whether or not Gaza is in Israel.
- silenceHR, on 10/12/2007, -9/+54lol.... "bad guys shooting at press", "but they are israeli".... DUH!!!
this is worth front page. - Aidenag, on 10/12/2007, -7/+49for everyone who watches this, make sure to check out the last 30 seconds, the Foxnews anchors royaly screw up at the end.
- volz0r, on 10/12/2007, -14/+52Everytime a FOX news 'journalist' gets shot at, a cute kitten is born.
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+36I think the FCC might have cracked down on "i ***** myself", and "let's get the ***** out of dodge".
- Rickler, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30What happened to the old days of reporters in Bosnia running though a trench in the road with bullets whizzing overhead. They had balls.
- MattS, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28Ever been shot at? Being shot AT has a very distinctive sound and it is very different from hearing a shot. What you heard was being shot AT. Think of a very high pitched buzz coming toward you (Doppler effect...)
Once you have heard it - you will never forget it. (Shudder) - Strangers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26"Our reporter has just been shot at, they are in grave danger, and fleeing the area immediately. Now, are you a horrible speller?"
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28Like it's always clear who's a reporter on the battlefield.
- protogenxl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26Further proof that sending Reports into war zones is a RATINGS GRAB. Any way how do we know it was not a Setup? For all we know Geraldo was off camera trying out an AK-47 before Buying It.
Anti Flame Statement
Gun Runners Only care about MONEY nothing Else They SELL TO BOTH SIDES. I am sure that the most powerful gun smuggler in that area is NOT Israeli or Palestinian, But an Inuit Dwarf with a Napoleon Complex. - uptown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I love how the one newscaster explains how sometimes if you see something far away you just start shooting at it ... and the other guy's like "really?"
- omatsei, on 10/12/2007, -11/+31I'm sorry... did they move Gaza City out of Israel? Was there some re-negotiation of the Israeli border that never got any publicity? Then again, the "zionist" comment just proves that as far as you're concerned, Israel doesn't actually exist where the map says it does.
- uptown, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Is this the point where we start blaming video games?
- MikeEFresh, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20The best part is hearing a journalist ask another journalist,"Really?"
- Kranklin, on 10/12/2007, -10/+28Regardless if he was a reporter or not, if he is giving away critical information he shouldnt be there... From the Isreali's point of view, what is more important, a lousy story so a reporter can make a living, or the lives of their troops?
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+22@mozzep:
The Israelis can. - sinbot, on 10/12/2007, -25/+43Being anti-zionist is not the same as being anti-jewish. It's time some of you dinks got that through your head already. Zionism is a political movement, calling people who disagree with Zionism anti-semitic is like calling people who hate republicans or democrats or what-have-you anti-American.
- thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"shooting at the press too, he's wearing a flak jacket that says press right on it"
"yeah but if you're somebody and you're a long ways away you just see somebody and you don't konw who it is somtimes you just start shooting.."
"really?" - plaunie, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15So as not to mix your metaphores, its more like anti-republican = anti-christian.
- dmh11686, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I saw the live this morning on Fox and Friends. It was quite exciting TV.
- CaptJackSparrow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13"if you see something far away that you don't know, you just start shooting at it"
Still does not explain Dick Cheney's incident. Or does it? - SniperGX1, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19Apparantly Kharma is "Fair and Balanced" too
- sremick, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18Amen, brother. #7 on the guide to good Digg submissions:
http://digg.sremick.net/ - dagonweb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14If fox reporters my home town in the netherlands, *I*'d be tempted to shoot them.
Talk about the next incarnation of Joseph Goebbels. - notbob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Bad Guys shoot at anything.
Right, but it's Isreal. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+16Think about it, the press is giving away your strategic position to the entire world on live TV. It's perfectly justified to fire off a few warning shots telling them to leave. If they wanted to hit them, the press would be dead.
- thotpoizn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10OK, dammit, uptown... You owe me a new keyboard and half a soda! :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Wow, the guy getting shot at was amazingly calm
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8You can hear them if you actually listen to it...
- brandonking, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10I particularly like how it took him 5 minutes to say, "Um, I'm being fired at. I'm leaving." I also found the terms 'skidaddle' and 'boogie' a little misplaced.
- Mrkamikaze, on 10/12/2007, -17/+23Can tell its its an Arab Shooter..he didn't even come close with his shot.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11American mentally dictates that anything Isreal does is good and is just as justified as if the action was done by America itself.
- underthewether, on 10/12/2007, -10/+15I like how the guy heard a shot, but there was no indication it was aimed in their direction. I think they were overreacting from what I could see in the video. It's not like their car had a bullet hole in it.
- hakamarob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7really, who wouldn't like to take a shot at a fox crew?
- masamunecyrus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11Indeed They were POSSIBLY given notice shots in GAZA by IDF troops to leave. Title's a bit inaccurate.
- artman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Warning. Shots.
- earthtoandy, on 10/12/2007, -28/+32See, even people around the world think Fox News is *****.
- hackwrench, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@mozzep
From how far away and what visibility? - chicken101, on 10/12/2007, -8/+12Those shots were far away, no way were they being shot at. Total BS.
- anachronaut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You can clearly hear the ricochet of the first shot hitting very close to them at around 01:52 of the video, right between when the reporter says "Israeli towns" and "whoa, we just got fired at". I didn't hear much of the shots after that one, but the first one is impossible to miss.
I agree that they were warning shots from IDF, who obviously knew that they were shooting at the press and weren't trying to kill them (yet). - skeet07, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Oh the.....what's humanity again?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7Hehehe, yeah, was thinking about that detail too, especially how the anchor was "knowingly" nodding his head right then was hilarious. Dang, FauxNews sure are a bunch of clueless chickens.
And who is that poor guy to the right, having to play the naive dumb dumber? - othersomethings, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's possible the reporter was able to stay calm because he realized they were warning shots saying "get the ***** out of here." Which he essentially said once he was in the truck.
Makes sense to me.
My overall impression of the Studio anchors was that SNL skit of the morning show hosts losing the prompter and going bizerk... - sinbot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6He probably wasn't being shot at but either way I don't think he was overreacting really. He stayed pretty calm about it all and just didn't want to be there if he didn't have to be there. A surprisingly sane decision by someone working for Fox News.
- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41. can't you take a joke
2. how did you get the picture you bastard. - havanese_boy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Reading comments on Digg is like digging through a trash can and every once in a while you find a 5 dollar bill.
- trancient, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I love the hosts telling the reporter "Be secure" "Take cover!". Um ya these motherf'ers are shooting at me Iike I'm not gonna get out of the way.
Besides the fact that this guy is a long time war correpondent who knows when he's in danger. -
