For sale: West’s deadly nuclear secrets - Times Online
timesonline.co.uk — A WHISTLEBLOWER has made a series of extraordinary claims about how corrupt government officials allowed Pakistan and other states to steal nuclear weapons secrets. Foreign intelligence agents had enlisted the support of US officials to acquire a network of moles in sensitive military and nuclear institutions. Once exposed, US officials did NOTHING

The Democrat plan: pull money out of your ass.
Tiny little miserable Libertarian plan: responsible management. But they're crazy.- sponeil, on 04/02/2008, -2/+3I agree with the first two, but the rest is more like...
Libertarian party plan: Let big business screw us even harder than the Democrats and Republicans put together.
Green party plan: Let the environment screw everyone instead of the other way around.
Communist party plan: Claim to be "the people's government" so we can get enough power to screw everyone else.

- fokov, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2No, the seriousness of these actions speak loudly to what plans those in control have. The one thing that keep US in power is (was) the intelligence and technology. With our dollar falling we would be able to sustain our position because we had the ability to destroy anyone that tried to do harm to us. However, when we even the playing field by "selling" our advantage, we will get left behind. There is no way we could go up against armies of China or India if left to a fair fight. (War is never fought fair). So with a horrible economy, and non-superior military, the US will only go down and all situations will get worse. No one will need US, and therefore won't help US out. They will probably join forces to destroy our position, to get themselves higher on the pecking order. Gotta love greedy Christians.
- InOmniaParatus8, on 04/02/2008, -0/+4"how else are we to get out of debt?"
That's easy! Legalize marijauna...and tax the hell out of it. What's today, Wednesday? If Congress did it tonight it would on store shelves by Monday.Obviously that's an over simplification but you get the idea. All the major tobacco firms have contingency plans for just such an occasion I'm sure. There's so much stuff being smoked now illegally that if the legal stuff hit the shelf we could be in the black in a year. Combine this with the elimination of the IRS, institution of a national sales tax and a flat income tax above a certain amount and we'd be turning a nice little profit. Better profit than phoney nuclear secrets to be sure. Sad part is, if you give this government more money they'll just buy that much more war.
- ElAssoWipo, on 04/02/2008, -6/+5The Republican plan: more war.
- happyhead7, on 04/02/2008, -0/+19What good is the freedom of the press in a free society when the press uses it freedoms to spend more time on Britney than on government corruption?

- JointVenture, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1The press is using "its" freedom to give the people what they want, if the public didnt want Britney they wouldnt give it to them.

- mcduck, on 04/02/2008, -6/+3One thing this article fails to mention is the fact that most countries in the world knows how to product nuclear weapons. It's no secret.
The information most likely sold here is test data from tests. This data is so much more valuable, since it would prevent the need for the reciever to conduct their own tests, thus revealing themselfs.- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -9/+1Exactly. The LIBERALS on this site will just spin any bit of information.
- theAlice, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1In case you haven't noticed, the entire internet is Liberal.
- KiraDnote, on 04/02/2008, -2/+1Very few people know how to make a nuke from start to finish, and US government officials certainly don't. So I wouldn't worry too much about them. It's much more likely that the author of this article is seeing the results of counter-espionage, or spy vs. spy, if you will.
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -9/+1Exactly. The LIBERALS on this site will just spin any bit of information.
- DiggyWiggy, on 04/02/2008, -0/+12I wish there wasn't such a whistle shortage in Washington.
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -14/+2You liberals will believe anything.
Barack Obama took money from Big Oil (around $200,000 actually).
Why don't you all just stay in Europe and enjoy your socialism over there?
I'm just waiting for people to start saying "SEE 9/11 WAS IN INSIDE JOB LLOololololololol"
Idiots.- theAlice, on 04/02/2008, -1/+5Prepare to be boarded- I mean, Dugg down!
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -6/+1It's fine. If the far left disagrees with me, that's usually a compliment.
- boxoman, on 04/02/2008, -0/+8What the hell are you talking about?
- PhilMoskowitz, on 04/02/2008, -1/+8That's either a really good troll or you're dumber than dog *****
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -2/+1No, I've just noticed that whenever the far-left pushes something, it's usually skewed, incomplete, or flat out wrong.
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -10/+1I'm talking about the fact that you guys will BELIEVE any bit of far-left information.
A whistleblower said something "OMGZS IT MUZST BE TRUE"
Obama said "I never took money from Big Oil" OM- theAlice, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2The government said it. OMG IT MUST BE TRUE!!11
I find it incredibly ironic that the people who are supposed to stand for small government end up believing it more than those who don't.- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1I don't believe anything the government tells me.
Bush is a liberal, whether you know it or not. That's the beauty of being a liberal: there is no set definition of what you guys stand for.
Bush is not for small government, and is for war mongering, i.e. an aggressive liberal.- KiraDnote, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2Man, you are really on a roll. Save some brewskis for later.
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1I don't believe anything the government tells me.
- theAlice, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2The government said it. OMG IT MUST BE TRUE!!11
- BoDeeDoe, on 04/02/2008, -1/+5Yeah this must be B.S. right? That's why she's under a GAG ORDER! For inaccuracy?! If the government gagged people for inaccuracy then FOX news would be taken off the air.... moron.
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -4/+1Actually, an independent study showed that Fox news was the LEAST biased out of any of the news organizations.
I bet you guys will be saying "THEY PAID THE PEOPLE THAT RAN THE STUDY ololololololol", but if it said the NYTIMES was the least biased, you'd be touting it as the gospel.
No, I don't like Fox anymore than I like the dailykos. They're all garbage.
The difference is: part of being FAIR AND BALANCED is presenting BOTH sides of the story; you guys get pissed whenever the CONSERVATIVE side is presented. You guys like biased news.- BoDeeDoe, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1Fox is a joke and so are you... here are examples: http://www.eclipptv.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=603 ...

http://www.eclipptv.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=244 ... - dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1I guarantee you I can find more about the BBC, CNN, DailyKos, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNBC, etc.
They're all the same, that's what you don't understand. You guys would rather listen to left wing lies instead of lies about Milk. Wow
Good job.
Obama took money from oil companies, despite the left-wing media proclaiming he never did. None of you know it, because you are all biased wing nuts. - BoDeeDoe, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2I am for small government, fiscal responsibilty and individual liberty. I am about as far from "left-wing" as you can get but not neo-conservative which is fake conservative. I am also against being a welfare state so I am not sure where you get the wing-nut accusations. The original point of the argument is it doesn't make sense to gag someone if they're full of *****. She is credible if they asked her to testify to the 911 Commission. She also must be credible if they gagged her. This should be a huge story and yet has no legs in the U.S. media and it has nothing to do with the left-right paradigm, democrat vs. Republican, liberal vs. conservative b.s. that you're spewing.
- BoDeeDoe, on 04/02/2008, -0/+1Fox is a joke and so are you... here are examples: http://www.eclipptv.com/viewVideo.php?video_id=603 ...
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -1/+1Correct, neo-cons = aggressive liberals.
The point is: they take ANY piece of anti-American news, and treat it as the gospel.
Any news that's anti-liberal, is either a lie, or is burried.
Barack Obama took money from the oil companies, despite him blatantly saying he didn't, yet the article (not a fox news article) showed that Barack's statement is a little too slick.
Why didn't that make it on Digg? Gee, I wonder.- BoDeeDoe, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2Well I am not a fan of Obama and it doesn't surprise me that he would lie about taking money from oil companies. All the politicians are corrupt. That's the device that gives their controllers the means to eliminate them when they don't tow the line. I don't think Obama or Hillary or McCain are any more or less corrupt than each other. And just because a story may seem to be "anti-American" it doesn't make it false. Here we have someone with knowledge of money being given to one of the lead hijackers from Pakistan before 9/11 and she's being gagged. It sort of implies cover-up don't you think? The covering up of this evidence is what spurs the conspiracy theories. Why not get it out in the open and investigate to eliminate the conspiracy theories? People need to be held accountable and questions need to be answered.
- dayalsoap, on 04/02/2008, -4/+1Actually, an independent study showed that Fox news was the LEAST biased out of any of the news organizations.
- thecoolestguy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+2Yeah I'm sure she made it all up. It must be fun to accuse members of the Israeli lobby in America, including high ranking members of the Bush administration, of selling nuclear secrets.
- theAlice, on 04/02/2008, -1/+5Prepare to be boarded- I mean, Dugg down!
- HyperJack, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2If they are selling uranium centrifuge plans/blueprints I'll take a copy. £5 ?
- Axias, on 04/02/2008, -0/+5You have government?
Yes, but she is broken. - theAlice, on 04/02/2008, -0/+15In the Fifties, we executed people for selling our secrets. Now we willingly cover up their actions.
- JointVenture, on 04/02/2008, -4/+1....or praise them as heroes at the Huffington post.
- DaDiggydiggyDOC, on 04/02/2008, -1/+5This reminds me of when president Clinton let that chinese spy go after he was caught stealing secrets from Los Alamos lab, which reportedly were about the work we were doing on the neutron bomb! Great job, I guess it doesn't matter which administration is in place, we apparently are for sale to the highest bidder..all the time.
- Flamancot, on 04/02/2008, -0/+2What a knee-slapper! Heh, you know how those government officials get! So silly...
- bosssmiley, on 04/02/2008, -1/+2Simple solution, stop employing moles in sensitive government positions. Let them go back to digging up your garden and snuffling about for worms.
- WTFppl, on 04/02/2008, -1/+5Was not Varlery Plaim(?) doing undercover work on Kyle Simpson for his alleged illegal arms dealings before Carl Rove blew the whistle on the CIA-Treason-. This same man(Carl Rove), who commited treason, was than released by his associates-who happen to be in the administration-, who most-liekly have a hand in the deseption as well.

Whistleblowers have the most unique courage - rmad1949, on 04/02/2008, -1/+13First stop pointing at other people and take a good long look in the mirror. Free Speech in our Constitution, is a beautiful thing, really... and the reason I don't read newspapers or watch media hyped CNN, MSNBC or any other television network 'news' - they lie, sensationalize and feed people misinformation... the people that run the United States are only interested in MONEY. One more time... the folks that run our government are only interested in MONEY. The Patriot that dies for these MONEY gatherers, mongers and changers are only the pawns, fools and little people used by these "leaders of the free world" for their MONEY. We have been told this and shown this many many times over and still, the people turn on CNN and MSNBC for their sensationalism and ***** news like heroin addicts. And for the same reason most Americans are on psychotropics... they cannot handle the truth. Two truths -- Hitler had a good idea and most American kids have no idea where Jamestown is or what it was even about. WAR IS GOOD BUSINESS, INVEST YOUR SON... and now your daughters, too. Good GAWD, America, pull your head out of your ass!
- smek2, on 04/02/2008, -0/+8Makes you think about who are the real terrorists.

- flaknugget, on 04/02/2008, -0/+4But I have it on good authority that Pakistan is America's ally. Saudi Arabia too for that matter.
Surely America knows what it's doing in the middle-east, no? - Coyote47, on 04/02/2008, -7/+0Yay conspiracy..
Buried as inaccurate - savitr, on 04/02/2008, -0/+4This story has come out several times now -- but only in European news sources, so far.
I sent a link to it to James Fallows, one of the big name writers at Atlantic Monthly. He actually wrote back personally, or so it seemed; he thanked me for sending the link. He also said he's quite interested in this story. But I honestly doubt that his editors will allow any aspect of this story to see the light of day.
Have we lost freedom of the press in this country? It would seem we have. Why would US newspapers and magazines repress this story? I don't get it.
Please, anyone, try sending this story to worthy news and opinion writers. See if anyone in the US is able to follow up on it. - thecoolestguy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+5The Zionists control American media. Their attack dogs don't give a ***** about America or truth or building a good strong community. They only care about Israel and their ethnicity.
---The Turks and Israelis had planted “moles” in military and academic institutions which handled nuclear technology. Edmonds says there were several transactions of nuclear material every month, with the Pakistanis being among the eventual buyers. “The network appeared to be obtaining information from every nuclear agency in the United States,” she said.---- - thecoolestguy, on 04/03/2008, -0/+4-----------
The Turks, she says, often acted as a conduit for the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s spy agency, because they were less likely to attract suspicion. Venues such as the American Turkish Council in Washington were used to drop off the cash, which was picked up by the official.
Edmonds said: “I heard at least three transactions like this over a period of 2½ years. There are almost certainly more.”
The Pakistani operation was led by General Mahmoud Ahmad, then the ISI chief.
Intercepted communications showed Ahmad and his colleagues stationed in Washington were in constant contact with attachés in the Turkish embassy.
Intelligence analysts say that members of the ISI were close to Al-Qaeda before and after 9/11. Indeed, Ahmad was accused of sanctioning a $100,000 wire payment to Mohammed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, immediately before the attacks.
