Flood warning after Chinese rains
news.bbc.co.uk — China has warned that one of its longest waterways, the Yellow River, is in danger of bursting its banks. The warning follows heavy rain in the north of China. The south has also been hit by bad weather. Dozens of people are dead after heavy storms, and more than a million have had to leave their homes.

- ibeckett, on 06/16/2008, -8/+2lots of natural disasters lately... or maybe they are just being reported on more than usual
- davidhallstrom, on 06/16/2008, -4/+5One bad thing after another.
- sfharper, on 06/16/2008, -7/+1Scary with the way they built some of the retention walls with the cities just above. :) Sheri
- stutimandal, on 06/17/2008, -1/+10The Yellow River always brought floods to make the plains fertile. It is called as the River of Sorrow in China.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_river- oxdeltaxo, on 06/17/2008, -2/+1It's karma for the general direction the country has been driving in for the past couple decades.
- freshgrease, on 06/17/2008, -13/+5Karma's a bitch, eh?
- someone173406, on 06/17/2008, -1/+8I hope it bites you in the ass too.
- ZeeZee2k, on 06/17/2008, -1/+3That's why you'll burn in hell.
- Donoram, on 06/17/2008, -8/+2He only said what everyone else was thinking. Even if you don't agree with it (like me) it fits the Karma mould I'd say.
- Wrangler76, on 06/17/2008, -1/+7"China 's rainy season causes chaos every year, often leaving many dead and forcing millions to leave their homes. "
I guess karma happens every year for many years then. The media is only interested in reporting on China's natural disasters now that people are actually paying attention to the country. - pumpedvideo, on 06/17/2008, -0/+5http://uk.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUKN1346134 ...
Is the Iowa flood Karma too?
- Wrangler76, on 06/17/2008, -1/+7"China 's rainy season causes chaos every year, often leaving many dead and forcing millions to leave their homes. "

- herkimer59, on 06/17/2008, -11/+0"I propose that we make bio-fuels out of the cadavers of stupid niggger-loving Jews like ONETIMER. - okie4life, on 06/17/2008, -3/+4Maybe this occurence of seemingly more natural disasters isn't because of some weird global warming epedimic, which mostly happens every 75000 years anyways, but because technology has advanced more recently in the past years and it is being reported on more accordingly
- keyforce, on 06/17/2008, -5/+0How does this impact the price of eggs in China?
- Striff, on 06/17/2008, -8/+3Raf out roud
- SyntraFTW, on 06/17/2008, -8/+2"Dozens of people are dead after heavy storms". Excuse my cynical-ness, but so what? They've got a bunch more to replace them.
- cowsgonemadd3, on 06/17/2008, -1/+3We could say the same thing about you and your family. Thats pathetic man.
- SyntraFTW, on 06/17/2008, -2/+1Yep, I fully realize that. Read up on the word "cynical", please.
Also, if you haven't guessed. I all around hate China. They shouldn't be hosting the Olympics, they have too many people, and they make ***** products.
Oh, and there food sucks.
- SyntraFTW, on 06/17/2008, -2/+1Yep, I fully realize that. Read up on the word "cynical", please.

- antonio97b, on 06/17/2008, -3/+6I came here to digg up a joke about a "yellow river."
Digg has failed me. - czhe, on 06/17/2008, -1/+2"Chinese rains", are you retarded?

Flood warning after American rains
lol.... - donkeySays, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1How about "Flood warnings after African American Rains"?
- monkeyrun, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1Let's try this ...
- aenegeling, on 06/17/2008, -4/+1This is just the beginning.
- Timis, on 06/17/2008, -5/+0How is this going to affect the 3 Gorges Dam?
- mateoberry, on 06/17/2008, -1/+2wrong river.
- PeninsulaBoy217, on 06/17/2008, -5/+1Insert "I.P. Freely" jokes here. :-)
- Lavarock, on 06/17/2008, -6/+1Japan had an earthquake of the same magnitude. And they're just fine. China does not care about human life, they only care about money, and when they built these ***** buildings they knew they would crumble and they knew there would be disaster. They didn't care.
- fpaudon, on 06/17/2008, -0/+5China does not care about human life, they only care about money
*cough* Iraq War *cough*
*cough* U.S. support of OPEC *cough*
*cough* Panama Civil War *cough*
The same could be said of any country. Stop blindly following the anti-Chinese sentiments and actually try to think. - ZeeZee2k, on 06/17/2008, -0/+2Same magnitude? Are you serious? Beside, Japan deals with earthquake alot more often. They have alot of experiences and their buildings were built to sustain earthquakes.
- mateoberry, on 06/17/2008, -0/+3you are such a ***** idiot.
- Haoie, on 06/17/2008, -0/+2That's the stupidest comment I've seen for a while on Digg.
Every country cares, or at the very least, attempts to care for its population.
- fpaudon, on 06/17/2008, -0/+5China does not care about human life, they only care about money
- smithricher, on 06/17/2008, -3/+2No.who don't like money? They get money bt working, wht laughing them just because "One bad thing after another." If this happand in USA, chinese people should laughing you?
- homer420032003, on 06/17/2008, -2/+1*Command+V*
"Shall I be the first to say it?
These comments suck" - MrSmith34, on 06/17/2008, -0/+2I do wonder: other then the expected sympathy & empathy of the subject matter:
1) What do the millions of Chinese intend to do about it?
2) If "Necessity is ***truely*** the mother of invention", I say you guys better start cracking and start inventing something. You've already managed to build one of the world's largest Dam...I say that's a good start. - zzt711, on 06/17/2008, -1/+2I could be wrong, but I thought their much touted Three Gorges Dam was supposed to help prevent this?
Or is it now the truly the environmental disaster which folks claim?- ButtSmudge, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1The Three Gorges Dam is in the Yantze River, the 3rd longest river in the world. This is the Yellow River, different part of China.
- Yoness, on 06/17/2008, -1/+0So much for lucky 2008...

- dickybrown, on 06/17/2008, -1/+2I'm curious how many people in Iowa care about Chinese floods right now?
- pennvneff, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1I'm curious how many people in Iowa know where China is.
- pennvneff, on 06/17/2008, -1/+1Karma's a bitch aint it?
- stephenhacking, on 06/17/2008, -1/+1Hope you guys know about the great dam china is building on the yellow river.
its gonna reduce floods but also going to submerge 100s of towns 9 cities and 1000s of villages - Jason2008, on 06/17/2008, -0/+0People walk in a flooded street after torrential rain in Hong Kong, south China
- gkiltz, on 06/17/2008, -0/+0So, what plausibility is there to the argument that Chinese consumption is causing these gas prices?
Has the whole world become THAT gullible?
