- FrankHope, on 07/24/2008, -12/+26In Israel, in-justice is swift if you are a Palestinian. Here you see how people's rights can be easily violated once you label them as "terrorists". There is nothing to keep the same thing from happening here in the US in the name of the "War on Terror". Betcha Obama doesn't say anything about this while he's in Israel. Tough love is good when he's addressing the NAACP, but for Israel it has to be unconditional love - so says AIPAC and the Israel Lobby.
Here was Shin Bet's (Israel's FBI) reaction to the bulldozer incident in Jerusalem:
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3571939, ...
Shin Bet officials said that at this time Israel does not utilize effective means of deterrence against east Jerusalem residents, such as the possibility of razing or sealing off the homes of terrorists who committed attacks. "There isn't enough effective activity," one source said. "We need to enter villages in the east of the city more often and carry out more arrests, in order to deter the next terrorist."
[In other words they should treat East Jerusalem Palestinians the same way they treat West Bank and Gaza Palestinians. If you're going to be Fascist, then you should be consistent.]- writie, on 07/24/2008, -3/+3The father of the bulldozer driver was arrested on the day of the incident. I don't know why. He joins, of course, a cousin and MP who has been "detained" for two years. Charges?
- medfreak, on 07/24/2008, -11/+24Real life bury brigades, namely the Israeli occupation forces and government, bury these stories by constant coercion and black mail, practicing some of the ugliest state terrorism in the world we live in.
Why am I not surprised.- FrankHope, on 07/24/2008, -11/+14The same way they buried Rachel Corrie with a bulldozer. And the same way they bury the homes of Palestinians and centuries old olive trees that are a source of income for them. This is Genocide in slow motion.

Way to capitalize of a horribly tragic event you ***** prick.
You don't give a ***** about ethics as long as you can demonize Israel.
Burn in hell you piece of *****.
- decafmatan, on 07/25/2008, -3/+3I'd like to see you throw stones at an American military brigade on the Mexican border. Let's see if they just chuckle.
- writie, on 07/25/2008, -2/+3We're not talking about a situation on the border. These non-violent demonstrations are by Israelis and Palestinians are against the continued confiscation of West Bank land by the Israeli authorities, who have committed to stop building in the West Bank yet continue confiscating land in Ni'lil and Bethlehem regardless (building permits are still being signed as well, incidentally, although that is another issue).
Non-violent demonstrations have been going on since 2005 at least. Many are met with tear gas and rubber bullets:
http://pinv.org/article33.html
There have also been cases of false testimony by the Israeli authorities:
"On July 20, Border Police arrested two Israeli demonstrators at Bil'in - Shaul Berger Mugrabi and Moshe Robas, claiming they had participated in an illegal assembly, assaulted a policeman and interfered with police work. Jerusalem Magistrate's Court Judge Yoel Tzur watched the videotape of the incident and lambasted the police: "The Border policemen who were involved in the incident are indeed framing the two respondents, yet I cannot shake off the impression created by the tape that shows distinctly that it was Border Policemen who used force against the respondents.""

- lazerus9, on 07/24/2008, -11/+11The same way they strive to bury every story critical of Israel posted to Digg!
You don't really believe that Digg was created and financed by some adolescent San Francisco geeks just wanting a forum where teens could talk about chicks and video games, did you?- Tanktunker, on 07/24/2008, -2/+6http://digg.com/world_news/Israeli_filmed_shooting ...
Well obviously you're the victims and the minority, that only had over 2000 diggs, and there hasn't been a pro-israel story anywhere near the front page in months.
Stop acting like the ***** victims here, there is no bury brigade, when your stories don't get to the front page you cry foul, when they do, well, you still cry foul.
If the demonic zionist presence on digg is so huge why aren't there any pro Israeli stories on the front page, ever?- Trublmakr, on 07/24/2008, -4/+1The zionist presence on digg is NOT demonic,.. that would imply a belief in demons,. but considering the shout history in your own digg profile I would suggest the huge presence is comprised of full of ***** individuals,.. but not demonic ones. As for front page stories,.. they have to be more than just pro-Israel- they ALSO have to be interesting.

Until when the war will be over... - Fangsinmybeard, on 07/24/2008, -13/+10Israel's totalitarian regime is desperate to keep a lid on their misbehaving top officials, but they keep stepping into the bear traps.

- monsieurginger, on 07/24/2008, -2/+2"totalitarian regime" ------- I don't think you know what that means.
- MarkEarhart, on 07/24/2008, -11/+14This is a mockery of justice!!!
- monsieurginger, on 07/24/2008, -2/+5In Israel they have investigations first, if you have a problem with that, you don't like justice.
- Trublmakr, on 07/24/2008, -9/+14Dear IDF friends:
We respectfully request that you not ***** with Canadian citizens assembling peacefully and enjoying a Canadian birthright - freedom of expression. Indeed, we are a polite, peace-loving people,.. but we can also be a proper pain in the ass and demonstrate an often uncommon determination standing up against the oppression of innocent people. This story will not "go away" until the man is released unharmed and compensated for his trouble.
Thank-you.
Canada- decafmatan, on 07/24/2008, -7/+10Dear Canadian "friends":
We respectfully would like to see your governments response if almost 200 foreigners came into one of your military training camps, started protesting in an illegal location, and then started hurling stones at your soldiers.
Thank-you.- Trublmakr, on 07/24/2008, -6/+8We in Canada like to keep our "military training camps" inside our own borders.
- DrDreyfus, on 07/24/2008, -2/+9How is that related?

- decafmatan, on 07/24/2008, -9/+11jpost.com:
"Some 150 Palestinian, left-wing Israeli and foreign activists demonstrated against the construction of the barrier, entering a closed military zone and pelting security forces with stones. "
Not to be obvious here, but why should foreign activists be allowed to remain freely in a country if they enter a closed military zone and take part in riots?- medfreak, on 07/24/2008, -7/+8I hate to break it to you, but the IDF considers 50% of the West Bank a closed military zone.
- decafmatan, on 07/25/2008, -3/+2This was a temporary miltary encampment inside of undisputed territory, not the West Bank, Gaza, or any type of settlement.
- medfreak, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3I hate to break it to you again, but there is no way an ant could come close to an "undisputed territory military incampment". Wherever you read that is BS.
- MoClippa, on 07/25/2008, -1/+3What are you talking about deccafmatan? What is this magical piece of undisputed territory in the West Bank that you are talking about? Ni'lin is a village of Ramallah, slightly to the north of the city, the only undisputed thing about it is the fact that it, and the temporary military encampment, are on legal Palestinian land... which means the Palestinians you see protesting here, aren't disputing anything, they are defending their rights to the land, and reaffirming their sovereignty of it. The only people that are disputing anything, are the Israelis, who are disputing the majority of their obligations under International law, in regards to the OPT.
Also, it wasn''t a riot, despite what you may like to think. A friend of mine (being one of the foreign activists you despise) recently traveled to the OPT, and has been involved in these peaceful demonstrations. They go out there, get tear gassed the second they are visible, shot with plastic covered bullets, beaten up and arrested.
Furthermore, if it was a bunch of foreign activists on Israeli soil, you might have a point... but these are people on Palestinian soil, living and working in the OPT at the behest of the Palestinian people. Currently Israel controls all the borders, and most of these activists have to go through long training sessions in order to know what to say to get past immigration. Another friend was detained for 4 hours when he last left the country, and was pretty much told he would not be allowed to return. He on the other hand, was not an activist, he was just running tours for Palestinian children in Refugee camps, to show them Palestinian cities they would otherwise not visit, and to get them out of the country to visit Europe.
- writie, on 07/24/2008, -5/+7The "closed military zone" is a residential area.
- MarkEarhart, on 07/24/2008, -5/+7Because your whole damn country is on stolen land!!!
- Tanktunker, on 07/24/2008, -4/+5So is your's.
So is all of North and South America actually, it's all stolen land, and genocide was committed several times to make it yours, so what is the big difference?
Well, you murdered brown people there and stole their land, we, on the other hand, settled in Israel, then went to the UN and won Israel through democratic process, and got attacked, then we won it through conquest. - medfreak, on 07/24/2008, -5/+4A democratic process? There was not a single Arab or Islamic country representation in the UN at the time of the "fair" (sic) partition plan. When did one sided decisions get called "democracy"?
- Tanktunker, on 07/24/2008, -4/+5So the Zionist movement was supposed to wait for the Arab nations to join the UN before trying to negotiate a country?
- monsieurginger, on 07/24/2008, -4/+7Actually there were. Just look here:

1776 is one starting point.
@MarkEarhart
Might want to come up with a better argument than that.
- Tanktunker, on 07/24/2008, -4/+5So is your's.
- medfreak, on 07/24/2008, -7/+8I hate to break it to you, but the IDF considers 50% of the West Bank a closed military zone.

- onetimer, on 07/24/2008, -5/+6"Palsolidarity" Wow could you have found a more unbiased source? Not to mention the fact that this headline gives the impression that the father was arrested solely because his daughter made that film, instead of actually happened - being arrested among many others who were rioting...
- PolishLogic, on 07/24/2008, -6/+4The moral of the story, don't head to a foreign country and expect them to have the same rules and regulations as your home country.
- urik88, on 07/25/2008, -6/+7Buried as inaccurate. They were protesting in a military zone with violent ways. You would get arrested in damn Canada and Sweden, land neutrality, if you did that there.
The article also is full of lies.
Palsolidarity:
arrested during a non-violent demonstration again in Ni’lin against the construction of the apartheid wall.
Jerusalem Post:
activists demonstrated against the construction of the barrier, entering a closed military zone and pelting security forces with stones
Doesn't sound peaceful to me. The writer also mysteriously forgot to write that Israelis were arrested too. - Tangaroa, on 07/25/2008, -5/+5I've seen way too many of these stories where the harmless peaceful totally nonviolent protesters were later found to be violently aggressive rioters who attacked the IDF. The corrections are never as widely published as the original story.
- Trublmakr, on 07/25/2008, -4/+5Damn protesters,.. should all be shot on suspicion! (And confiscate those ***** cameras!)
- decafmatan, on 07/25/2008, -4/+3"where the harmless peaceful totally nonviolent protesters were later found to be violently aggressive rioters who attacked the IDF"
