- Awwzm, on 11/10/2009, -35/+721***** YOO FATTOH PEEPUR
- maddHavoc, on 11/11/2009, -121/+581Bring this ***** to the US. Too many fat ***** all around.
Bury me fatties!
Digg me people who respect themselves! - LongLiveRock2, on 11/10/2009, -3/+285There go the Sumo wrestlers!
- Michigan85, on 11/11/2009, -6/+267There go the American tourists.
- maddHavoc, on 11/11/2009, -20/+196I bet you are fat.
- CrimsonBlur, on 11/10/2009, -16/+164You can't (naturally) change your physical features. You can affect your physical health and stay fit and not fat, though. Totally different.
- qerplonk, on 11/11/2009, -8/+143First they came for the fatties, and I did not speak out—because I was not fat...
- eastwood24, on 11/10/2009, -6/+121FTA: 'Japan has some of the world’s lowest rates of obesity — less than 5 percent, compared to nearly 35 percent for the United States.' And yet they are taking these harsh punitive measures. And these figures embarrass me.
- geodebug, on 11/11/2009, -3/+110They hate us for our freedoms. No. wait, Fritos...they hate us for our Fritos
- mnpilot, on 11/10/2009, -117/+216We better start eliminating people who are not blue eyes and blonde hair as well....just for safe measure.
- Hrodrik, on 11/11/2009, -1/+94lol southpark
- charm803, on 11/10/2009, -1/+93But the average Japanese is more petite in general.
- Wosat, on 11/10/2009, -2/+89"Japanese lawmakers last year set a maximum waistline size for anyone age 40 and older: 85 centimeters (33.5 inches) for men and 90 centimeters (35.4 inches) for women."
So with a 32 inch waist, I'm considered fit in the US and borderline criminal in Japan (if I were over 40). Great. - paulvq, on 11/11/2009, -30/+110I need a law that tells me how much I have to weigh in order for me to respect myself?
- djlethal, on 11/11/2009, -34/+107lol racism.
- thecoolestguy, on 11/11/2009, -66/+138It makes sense. If other tax payers are obligated to pay your medical expenses, they get a say in the lifestyle choices you make.
No smoking
No drinking
No marijuana
No fatty foods
It's either freedom and personal responsibility, or socialism and government mandates, make your choice Dem-fanboys. - tmyprod, on 11/11/2009, -0/+72Maybe that was the goal all along?
- AnotherDiggGuy, on 11/10/2009, -2/+73Way to totally miss the point
- achansen121, on 11/10/2009, -5/+76So when are they making being too skinny illegal?
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1b ... - weirdralph, on 11/10/2009, -1/+62Yeah, I'm 6'4" -- so with a 33" waist, I'd be a stick!
- cawfee, on 11/11/2009, -8/+69You say sitting in your chair in the basement eating Doritos.
- v3rtex7740, on 11/11/2009, -4/+60WHOOOOOOOSH
- Expl0siv0, on 11/11/2009, -2/+57SUMO WRESTRER ABOVE DA RAW
- magibeg, on 11/11/2009, -3/+56Yes it makes sense until you realize, there is a very small % of Americans that are pro athletes. There is no excuse (outside of the very marginal few who actually have a medical condition... claiming fat gene doesn't count) for the current obesity issue in North America (yes us Canadians are getting fat too!).
- iPlunder, on 11/11/2009, -4/+56*****, we can't do this in America. We can't afford to have 66% of our country in jail.
- v3rtex7740, on 11/11/2009, -0/+51the successful ones can afford to pay the fines
- nouman1989, on 11/10/2009, -23/+70Thats great now do something about the US.
- achansen121, on 11/10/2009, -11/+58That makes sense.. Until you realize how obesity is defined...
Personally, when I have been exercising, I weigh 10 lbs more than when I don't.
I'd like to know what percentage of Football players are labeled obese by this measurement.
Edit: http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-1566900.html 56% of football players
BMI should be flushed down the toilet. - HottLumpiaz, on 11/11/2009, -6/+52I'm not fat. I'm fluffy.
- oriondr, on 11/11/2009, -3/+49making fun of accents != racism if saying "ahhhnold" isn't racist against Austrians.
- VincentThomas, on 11/11/2009, -12/+56Blonde hair and blue eyes is a biological trait, not the byproduct of overindulgence and gluttony.
- AlaskanDad, on 11/10/2009, -9/+52How stupid why not tax fattening foods; ie, a twinkie tax.
- Velnich, on 11/11/2009, -2/+44Like... REAL fat.
- Michigan85, on 11/11/2009, -5/+46They just eliminated 98 percent of American tourists.
- v3rtex7740, on 11/11/2009, -3/+40sending a 14 year old boy to jail because he received "sexting" from a 15 year old.
oh, wait... - AiR1890, on 11/11/2009, -1/+38I think one of the biggest reasons that Americans have a much higher obesity rate is we drive much more than other countries, other people in other countries consume just as much fat as we do, they eat the same unhealthy fast food, and have all the technologies we do, the difference, they just walk a lot more than us. We need to make things in America more walk friendly, I see sidewalks everywhere around my area, but there is usually no one walking on these side walks, maybe one person, that is it, and if you live in America, seeing someone walk on the sidewalk is really weird, right by you is a million cars just driving by, and you are walking, people stare, and think, "why is that guy walking?, doesn't he have a car?"
- tidu, on 11/11/2009, -1/+36The laws are seemingly already in place.
- Husky217, on 11/10/2009, -3/+38Even if that's true, that's another reason why it is unreasonable for the government to be paying* for our health care.
* paying for health care with taxpayer money since the government doesn't have any. - creaturecool, on 11/11/2009, -0/+33彼はそうや!
- rearlgrant, on 11/11/2009, -0/+33"Great job son. Now the Japanese are normal, like us."
- kalibur, on 11/11/2009, -1/+33and ***** YOO WHARES!
- AiR1890, on 11/11/2009, -0/+32They walk, a lot, in fact, most countries in the world just walk a lot more, not america though, drive, drive, drive.
- nurbsenvi, on 11/11/2009, -0/+31That's him!
- MrSparkle666, on 11/11/2009, -0/+31This law doesn't affect tourists. All that it does is require fat people to be taxed more for health care.
- iDiggYa, on 11/10/2009, -9/+40From my point of view, they could be taking preliminary measures towards reducing the amount of fat people while their rate of obesity is still low.
- GauteHauk, on 11/11/2009, -1/+32The waits are for showing them their place. You see, women have to wait for the men to go first, then they can go. Hence, the longer waits.
- Waphlez, on 11/11/2009, -4/+34They're still pissed about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
- sinurgy, on 11/11/2009, -0/+29If you don't have much muscle mass (i.e. you've never spent any serious time building muscle currently or in the not too distant past) then BMI can be useful. However anyone who has done a decent amount of weight training in their time (no I don't mean 20 years ago in high school), BMI is not a good scale to use. They need to just drop the whole silly BMI thing period and use body fat % instead. That works for everyone.
- Maynza, on 11/11/2009, -4/+32A high Basal Metabolic Rate is a good thing... maybe you meant BMI which is a ***** number that means nothing.
- Optimuz2K, on 11/11/2009, -4/+32Hey! Let's leave marijuana out of this!
