Face Down In Fire Ants, Tased and Beaten - Not Police Abuse
rational-outrage.com — A man accused of leaving the scene of an accident is shown on a police dash cam handcuffed and thrown face down into fire ants. While one officer stood on his neck the other two repeatedly shot him with a Taser gun and kicked and punched him. The court has said that this was appropriate behavior and cleared the cops of any wrongdoing.

- kp2575, on 04/09/2008, -3/+2Come on fire ants don't hurt.... that much
- RockStories, on 04/09/2008, -1/+1Kp, I think that might depend on where you put them.
- theaceoffire, on 04/09/2008, -3/+16Cops like these destroy the reputation of the actual heroes on the force.
They should be ashamed, demoted, and held accountable.- relic180, on 04/09/2008, -1/+7But they won't be.
- jaymzdean, on 04/09/2008, -2/+12If there were heroes among them, then, by definition, those heroes would put a stop to all this *****.
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -2/+3Thank you jaymzdean!!!! That is the best comment ever. There are no heroes in that police department for sure, just a bunch of pigs.
- CryRightardCry, on 04/09/2008, -2/+5"Gray says he would do it again. He would not mind pushing someone's face into an anthill while they are incapacitated, kicking and punching them and then having some fun with the Taser gun over and over again. He says that he wouldn't change a thing and that he has no regrets. The frightening thing is that he is still on the Austin Police force and so the same thing could happen again, and with his attitude, is likely to happen again if it hasn't already."
- chicofaraby, on 04/09/2008, -6/+19I think we all know that cops are psychos. I teach my children to avoid them like they would any violent gang of thugs.
- whoreable, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Yes there are good and bad but I really digg your parenting style chico
- wilderr67, on 04/09/2008, -2/+4This is a great story, but before we all attack the police officers make sure we all know the facts.
- ekim941, on 04/09/2008, -11/+3The story only tells one side I'm sure that none of this would have happened if he had just gone to jail peacefully and argued his innocence in a courtroom like he should have. People are hypocrites, if a man rapes your daughter do you want the police telling you that they can't arrest him because he wouldn't get in the car when they asked him nicely? No. We want the police to be tough on criminals, we just don't want to see it.
The officers were found innocent so there must be some evidence to support that. Don't give me this "White Jury" crap either.- relic180, on 04/09/2008, -1/+13YOU want the police to be tough on criminals. I want them to realize they're not better than everybody else, and hence can't go around beating the ***** out of people even after they're tied up and laying face down on the ground.
And I know this is a difficult concept to grasp, but people are not criminals until they're proven to be criminals. As is the case with mister Hernadez, of which ALL THE CHARGES WERE DROPPED against him, thus he was NEVER A CRIMINAL and yet the cops still feel justified in beating the hell out of him.
You explain to me how that's not scary.- ekim941, on 04/09/2008, -4/+1Like I said, it should be handled in court, not on the streets. This person chose not to go willingly. It would never have been an issue if he would have just gotten in the car when asked.
- DreKor, on 04/09/2008, -1/+6Godwin's law is always so damn appealing. I want to say that people like you are responsible for the rise of the Third Reich and the Holocaust, but deep down I know it's not fair. You really want to believe that all authority figures are benevolent, and so do I. The difference is that when I see evidence to the contrary, I pay attention. You just make excuses.
- ekim941, on 04/09/2008, -4/+1Like I said, it should be handled in court, not on the streets. This person chose not to go willingly. It would never have been an issue if he would have just gotten in the car when asked.
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -0/+5Wow you're an idiot. They already had him handcuffed.
- tehbored, on 04/09/2008, -0/+2Idiot. Use of force was justified, sure, but the fire ants and the beating? That is excessive. Even if he was still struggling after being handcuffed, they still have the taser electrodes attached to him so they could have just shocked him a couple more times, but not ***** eleven. This was clearly abuse of police power.
- relic180, on 04/09/2008, -1/+13YOU want the police to be tough on criminals. I want them to realize they're not better than everybody else, and hence can't go around beating the ***** out of people even after they're tied up and laying face down on the ground.

- HCviolence, on 04/09/2008, -0/+4How can I be outraged with those lovable Lego cops staring back at me in the thumbnail?
- mnemy, on 04/09/2008, -1/+4Protecting the people. right. There are good cops out there, but our system is so ***** that it lets the bad ones continue in near immunity.
- oldhick, on 04/09/2008, -1/+2Where are the good ones?
- ANT1138, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1I miss the good ol' days when cops would shoot people.

- CrudeDarkness, on 04/09/2008, -2/+6if it was me, I would have beat up all three. Stepped on all of their necks, while they were being stung by fire ants, and eventually continued pounding their bodies to the ground.

http://www.txcn.com/sharedcontent/dws/txcn/austin/ ... - whatthefu, on 04/09/2008, -1/+4Even if the guy did reach for a cop's gun, once he's down on the ground and unable to do anything why the ***** would you beat the ***** out of him? You can't just dole out ludicrous punishment because you think your ***** doesn't stink.
- slvrbullet87, on 04/09/2008, -2/+1Cause he was reaching for the cops gun and i am sure it was just to admire the thing. When somebody attempts to grab a gun so he can shoot you, you are probably going to be a little bit pissed.
- tehbored, on 04/09/2008, -1/+3Jury of six white women you say? I think it's apparent enough why the cops got off.

More than 210 diggs and still no front page? Bah. - Globehugger, on 04/11/2008, -1/+1Never had any trouble with police. Don't know what all the fuss is about. I know how the press loves sensationalistic claptrap. For every bad incident that makes the news, there are tens of thousands of proper incidents that will never be acknowledged. I will be burying this.
