- kingmanic, on 01/19/2009, -0/+21Finding a 75 year old in Florida is like finding a needle in a warehouse of needles.
- robohoe, on 01/19/2009, -0/+19Seems like a lot of money managers go missing these days...
- chrissku, on 01/19/2009, -0/+15Someone needs to write a documentary about all these scandals. Call it Swindlers List.
- aufte, on 01/19/2009, -0/+14They're going to be looking for a lot of 'money managers' this year.
- directoryweb, on 01/19/2009, -1/+14When they catch him he will be on house arrest waiting for trial. Then he can mail away all the money to his friends, family, etc.
America is the land of opportunity. That is opportunity to steal boatloads of money from people and get away with it. Anyone else would probably get a harsher sentence if they were starving and stole a can of soup from a grocery store. It makes you wonder how much of the stolen investment money actually ends up in Judges wallets. It's the land of opportunity, and Judges are entitled to opportunity as well. *cough* - taokr, on 01/19/2009, -0/+10Get your disappearing investment managers straight!
- sgvprelude, on 01/19/2009, -0/+9"Nadel's car was found Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. On Saturday, an associate told Reuters that it was believed Nadel was still alive."
My detective skills tell me he may have left the country. - hotrodscott, on 01/19/2009, -0/+6What is it with these money fund managers? Is this the tip of the iceberg? Are we going to find a lot of these situations? Who accounts for this? Does the money we invest actually get invested? This is scary stuff.
- inactive, on 01/19/2009, -0/+5u r a donkey.
- web2pointYo, on 01/19/2009, -0/+4Wait, so this is a different fake death money guy. Not the guy that jumped out of the airplane? Ugh.
- stagnate, on 01/19/2009, -0/+4Vegas baby!
- altcountryman, on 01/19/2009, -0/+4Not enough of them.
- LokitheComplex, on 01/19/2009, -0/+4I'd take that job hunting down "money folk". I'll get a mean dog and a gun.
- Sublimin4L, on 01/19/2009, -0/+3Yeah, this is a guy that took his investors' money with him and ran. The other guy that faked his death has been captured.
- Coven, on 01/19/2009, -0/+3I'm getting such a raging clue
- woofers07, on 01/19/2009, -0/+3Wait, the dude was 75 years old?
- borez, on 01/19/2009, -0/+3I'm quite suprised, after the back end of last year, that people are still leaving money in hedge funds. I'd be grabbing it and buying up gold just to be on the safe side.
- PGPirate, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2Another money manager "lost" in Florida? WTF
- chadsmith729, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2If I were in the FBI I would be talking to that pilot that crashed and was found checking into a hotel in Florida. I have a sneaky suspicion that he might know a thing or two, clearly he already demonstrated he knows how to hide.
- andyb747, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2"Arthur Nadel, president of Scoop Management Inc"
Scoop......as in your money. - geico, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2+1 for conspiracy theory rant
- breadfred, on 01/19/2009, -1/+3You were fourth. Sorry to bring the news to you. Keep trying, and you might get a medal next time!
- shortsellit, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2Thats what I thought... but this seems to be a different guy
- andyb747, on 01/19/2009, -0/+2brilliant
- maz2331, on 01/20/2009, -0/+2Richard Pryor said it best:
"You don't get to be old being no fool. Yeah, theres' a lot of young wise men dead as a *****, ain't there?" - woofers07, on 01/19/2009, -0/+1It would be pretty cool if this guy pulled a Robin Hood, given his old age and everything.
- Buttercupbaby, on 01/19/2009, -0/+1I am so impressed! Who's the man? You the man!
- humptyz, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1That's easy. High class call girls!!
- inactive, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1 Try looking in Israel, I hear it's a popular destination for thieving money managers.
- Andysan, on 01/19/2009, -0/+1How come most of these big-time crooked money managers are old guys? Could it be that no one has been paying attention to them for a bunch of years? Besides that, there is no way they pulled this stuff off all by themselves. I wonder how many more of these thieves are packing up their loot and heading out of town? The guy that jumped out of his plane right over his stashed motorcycle kind of screwed up his attempt, but then again he was a younger guy so wasn't very accomplished at ripping off people. I guess the lesson here is: Invest your money (if you have any) with some high school kid who hasn't stolen much except some iTunes. If he is a crook, he will get caught real quick and you may get your money back. Stay away from the old guys!
- Khast, on 01/19/2009, -0/+1♫♪Take the money and run♫♪ - Steve Miller Band
- maz2331, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1Except for one thing: if you run, they get mad as hell and toss you into a local jail to be ass raped for a few months before the judge hears the extradition case from the other state...
And, yeah, they will make sure that your cell-mate is in for a crime related to homosexual rape of a helpless person working in the financial industry. There's 2.2 million prisoners in the system, they can find one to be an "ideal mate" for their purposes.....
Especially with the knowledge that the judge won't care if you stand up in court (with your intestines hanging down your leg due to rough butt-sex) and complain about the conditions of confinement. - Napiertt, on 01/19/2009, -0/+1Just like Made-off with the money
- troye, on 01/21/2009, -0/+1There are already news reports like this one with the guys skipping town. Remember the guy and the plane?
- humptyz, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1I feel sad for the people whose money just disappeared. It's bad enough with the economy in the ***** but to have this happen is like pouring salt in a wound.
- haikuFU, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1And then a porno version called Swindler's Fist
- adcheung, on 01/20/2009, -0/+1Get myself bears. Black bears.
- jg1647, on 09/24/2009, -0/+0maybe his leaving the car at the airport was a decoy... cos if hes caught a plane somewhere the fbi will find out where he went
Question:
What would you do with the money if you stole a hundred million dollars and you were 75? - zyklon, on 01/19/2009, -2/+2I saw on the local news the other day that he was captured, what's the deal?
- roofview, on 01/20/2009, -0/+0When the ship is sinking the rats get off.
- atrain9000, on 01/19/2009, -0/+0Dexter?
- jg1647, on 09/24/2009, -0/+0i dont think they'l catch him unless he turns himself in... which he might cos hes 75y.o. but theres a lot you can spend hundreds of millions of $ on to keep yourself under the radar..
- inactive, on 01/19/2009, -3/+1Hilarious
- geico, on 01/19/2009, -3/+1lucky guess....
- jack2454, on 01/19/2009, -6/+1why is this in the NEWS?????
