- why3th, on 05/29/2008, -11/+307The only way Bush will ever see an impeachment trial is if he gets blown by his assistant.
- Sham1969, on 05/28/2008, -8/+289best of luck with all that
- Bananimal, on 05/29/2008, -4/+144Great. This is the part where NOTHING HAPPENS.
- sdfguy, on 05/29/2008, -18/+120Yeah, right. Like I'm going to trust what JimmySpaza- some random digger- has to say about anything. The World Socialist Web Site is 100% trustworthy and reliable compared to this random digger who is clearly one guy behind a keyboard who cannot get a date.
see works for me too. - 55mph, on 05/29/2008, -10/+90It's time for Congress to get busy. Those in Congress who block efforts to impeach Bush and Cheney need to decide if they are Americans or outright Traitors.
- CDRrules, on 05/29/2008, -14/+87Does the article offer any proof? The writer makes statements like "a 370-page report released this week" but I don't know where, or if, I can view this report for myself. As easy as it may be to believe things like this about the current administration, I'd really like to see some actual evidence.

- genbradly, on 05/29/2008, -5/+56As CDRrules points out...proof is a good thing. Just found this over at the ACLU website which has links to various parts at the bottom:

Here is their direct link to the report

- elamr, on 05/29/2008, -11/+61Thing about criminals is that if they have an easy crime that they are not caught and/or punished for they will do it over and over.
- flamingchorizo, on 05/29/2008, -12/+61Look....over there everyone! Its Britney Spears!
- RationalCenter, on 05/29/2008, -3/+38I want to fight on our soil, because the only people threatening my rights are here, now. They're using the excuse of fighting terrorism to fundamentally shift the powers of government, and that is far for frightening to me than any terrorist attack.
Terrorists can cause death and physical destruction. Only we can destroy the legal and moral framework that defines our country. I resent traitors more than enemies, and I consider the efforts of folks like Cheney to be treason. - QaSpel, on 05/29/2008, -2/+35For those of you, like me, looking for a reference, here it is from the source:
http://www.usdoj.gov/oig/special/s0805/final.pdf - shadowofapuddle, on 05/29/2008, -2/+29Not exactly accurate according to what I heard on CBC Radio, where they interviewed the author of the file.
When they say in this report that they had formally opened a "War Crimes" folder, it was more like an ordinary file folder that had the name "War Crimes" handwritten on it, and was used to file complaints about actions of troops and others. The FBI agents who were in Afghanistan and Iraq who witnessed suspect activity and filed reports about it would have their report put in this folder.
The higher-ups found out about the folder being labeled "War Crimes" and had it renamed to something less alarmist, and ordered the FBI to stop investigating any further Geneva violations saying that it wasn't their jurisdiction.
This doesn't mean war crimes were not committed, because it appears that they were. As far as the files indicting "Bush, Cheney and Co. as war criminals", I think we're getting carried away here. - Brainclone, on 05/29/2008, -8/+33For those demanding proof...

But of course... you will not care anyway, as you have already are protecting your belief in Bush by asking for proof even after the links were posted....
Read the whole thing, and stop believing in Bush fairy tales - buckrogers1965, on 05/29/2008, -9/+34Thanks, we are going to need all the luck we can get over the next year or so.

- eengineer, on 05/29/2008, -1/+20He is not serious. Whoreable didn't check out the his site. It's all satire, he even says so on the bottom of his site.
- PopcornDave, on 05/29/2008, -5/+22America is completely *****. The generation growing up has no idea of the freedoms that have been lost and their parents don't seem to give two ***** about informing them. As long as they have their HD television, big screen TV, XBox and iPod they're fat, happy, and dumb consumers just the way the politicians like them.
Just the other day there was a story on Digg about fingerprints now being required if you have anything to do with a mortgatge (http://www.openmarket.org/2008/05/23/fingerprint-r ... and to date it's received 40 diggs. It was on the Drudge report for a few days, but I never heard any media outcry about it anywhere. Personally I fail to see how taking my fingerprints when I want to take out a mortgage makes the country any safer.
You really think America stands a chance with this kind of apathy? It's days like this that I'm glad I don't have kids because I'd really hate to think of them putting up with the ***** that I'm going to be glad to leave behind when I'm dead.
I still have a slight hope that things are going to change, but it's slight at best. - Waiting2awake, on 05/29/2008, -5/+21as will there successors.
Think long and hard America..if you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting...
Is that what you want for your future? - genbradly, on 05/29/2008, -1/+17The Report can be found at:

"George Bush is 100% trustworthy and reliable?" Ha. - sandersdamnit, on 05/29/2008, -3/+17I'm gonna have to go with sarcasm as there is no such city anymore but i'll take care of this w/one shot then if it isn't. You are crazy crazy......... which is worse than crazy
- frelk, on 05/29/2008, -5/+19The fall of House Harkonnen
- pnunn, on 05/29/2008, -0/+13yeah- definitely check out open j's profile before you get huffy over this- I think he might actually be a little bit awesome...

- InetRoadkill, on 05/29/2008, -7/+19
You guys are all naive. Bush has MONTHS left in office. There is no point in pursuing legal action now.
Sorry, but no. I wouldn't care if Bush had 2 hours left in office. If he is a criminal, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law without exception. Surviving your term without getting impeached should in no way be an all-encompassing 'get out of jail free card'. Equal justice under law is supposed to be one of the pillars of the American justice system. No one, including Bush, is above the law. His open mockery and contempt for the judicial process combined with his abuse of power makes it even more imperative that he be brought to justice. He should not be allowed to set this kind of precedence. - whoreable, on 05/29/2008, -5/+17No he is serious. Look at his profile. All of his comments are like this.
- Mr.Gone, on 05/29/2008, -1/+13Sorry I can't look, Macintosh is doing something over here.
- Endersion, on 05/29/2008, -3/+15I consider myself independent but I'd rather fight a war for freedom on our soil than fight a war for oil on theirs.
- Twenty, on 05/29/2008, -4/+16The next president is going to have a hell of a time dismantling what a monster of government the Bush administration has created here. No, it was not entirely Bush's fault, but the fault of many presidents over the course of the 20th century subscribing to big, ineffective, bureaucratic government. Most presidents, when they are elected, spend the first year or two adapting the executive branch to their agenda. How long will it take to dismantle years and years of this sort of ***** -- early fascism?
We need to defeat it at the root. Impeach Bush, Cheney, all of them.
Still, how much scrubbing will it take to rid the US Government of the stench of ineffective, bloated partisan politics? - HypocriteDigg, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11You you dumbass neocons, quite bitching and move to Afghanistan where you belong!
- genbradly, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11Ok....so the entire report in PDF format at: http://www.aclu.org/safefree/torture/35402lgl20080 ... was fabricated by the ACLU?
Sure...whatever you say. - CrazedLeper, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11Congress is busy--giving the impression that they're doing something while they're really doing nothing.
- IphtashuFitz, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11Or if you want to get it directly from the Department of Justice:
http://www.usdoj.gov/oig/special/s0805/final.pdf - dafragsta, on 05/29/2008, -9/+20You guys are all naive. Bush has MONTHS left in office. There is no point in pursuing legal action now. In fact, the chances of him spending time in prison are MUCH greater after that. Think about it... if you don't nail Bush and Cheney at the same time, one pardons the other. If they are both out of office, powerless, and clearly in the crosshairs of the legal system, they will get the book thrown at them.
The McClellan book is not even new information from the absolutely most reliable source, either, even if it is substantial. See Richard Clarke's many testimonials against BushCo. No one was better equipped to outline the failures to prevent the terrorist attacks or the preemptive decision to invade Iraq. This guy is bona fide. He served as the terrorism czar under every president since Reagan.
My faith in my country will be restored if Bush and the gang spend even one year in prison. I'd like more than that, but I understand how politics works all too well. - FredFredrickson, on 05/29/2008, -0/+11Of course, lying to the American people doesn't count for *****. Lying to the Grand Jury, however... that's the big one.
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -1/+12Wow, I see your point.
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -0/+10Did you happen to miss several postings of the PDF from the DOJ site itself? Nah, someone as smart and observant as you would never miss that.
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -6/+16Bush is history. It's probably too late anyway. It's time to focus our attention on getting ready to impeach Obama. Are they selling impeach Obama bumper stickers yet?
- kolobcreek, on 05/29/2008, -8/+18So is this a Serious Indictment? Or just more BS and PROPAGANDA? I'm so tired of this wishful thinking *****.
- stizz, on 05/29/2008, -0/+10Libby has not been pardoned yet. YET.
Bush will wait till zero hour just like every president does.
Libby will be pardoned during Bush's last hours in office. - Knowltey, on 05/29/2008, -4/+13If you people want proof, go find the document that the article cites.
