Expert: "brainwashing our children" about global warming
blogs.usatoday.com — William Gray, the well-known Colorado State University hurricane forecaster, argues that the scientific consensus on global warming is bogus — and "a mild form of McCarthyism has developed toward those scientists who do not agree" that mankind is in danger.

- Feralvision, on 04/08/2008, -10/+2I think you'll find that it is William Gray who is bogus and all the other exxon funded pseudo-scientists.
- keithgplayer, on 04/08/2008, -2/+9With the facts you provided and the in depth detail you used to prove to us that William Grey is bogus, I think the rest of us here will now side with you. /sarcasm
- Feralvision, on 04/08/2008, -6/+1""The broadcast public relations firm Medialink Worldwide produces a video news release (VNR) titled, “Global Warming and Hurricanes: All Hot Air?” Medialink was hired to make the VNR by Tech Central Station, a project of the Republican lobbying and PR firm DCI Group. ExxonMobil, a client of the DCI group, gave Tech Central Science Foundation $95,000 in 2003 and specified that those funds be used for “climate change support.” The VNR features meteorologists Dr. William Gray and Dr. James J. O’Brien who deny there’s a link between global warming and hurricane intensity. Gray has said in the past that global warming is a “hoax,” while O’Brien is listed as an expert at the George C. Marshall Institute, which in 2004 received $170,000 from ExxonMobil"". (http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/entity.jsp?enti ...

- Railer, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Hey thanks for the innuendo and guilt by association, do even know what McCarthyism is? Anyone who associates with a commie is a commie right?
As Global Warming and Hurricanes ya there is not link, even NASA now agrees to that,
http://wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com/2008/02/21/no ...
It's must be fun to simply wipe with one brush many of the physicists and climatologists Lindzen, and Christy, calling them all shills and ignoring their considerable scientific findings. But you and Greenpeace must be right ANYONE touched by exxon must be evil, right? Once a commie, always a commie, thanks McCarthy!

- Railer, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1Yet Gore can get 300 MILLION for his propaganda campaign and not a single person asks for whom? or why?
And yet he will not allow questions, talk to the media, or allow open events where anyone can get in?

- lhbaker, on 04/08/2008, -8/+2William Gray has been in the news before, and he hasn't become any less of a sycophant. Besides, what's wrong with instilling environmental awareness into our children?
- radiantarchon, on 04/08/2008, -0/+9environmental awareness is great. lying about the environment to try and push forward an agenda is not
- SamCatLu, on 04/16/2008, -0/+2...and unnecessarily scaring the crap out of our kids is useless as well.

- yellowcakewalk, on 04/09/2008, -9/+1ALL of the peer-reviewed journals agree that global warming is caused by human activity. Even the Bush administration, criminal as it is, admits that global warming is a real phenomenon. Sorry to disappoint the flat-earth crowd but we are headed for a world of trouble, caused mainly by you people that drive around in cars.
- DanThePainter, on 04/09/2008, -0/+6But is the warming related to human activity? What about the warming of Mars? Could it just be realted to solar activity?
>> Scientists have suspected in recent years that Mars might be undergoing some sort of global warming. New data points to the possibility it is emerging from an ice age.
NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter has been surveying the planet for nearly a full Martian year now, and it has spotted seasonal changes like the advance and retreat of polar ice. It's also gathering data of a possible longer trend..........>>

And the last 4 or 5 Ice Ages? Mankind, or our nearest cousins survived the last one because they learned to make fire, are you assuming campfires caused the last 5 "global warmings".
Or is it the case that the 95% of green house gasses "WATER VAPOR" is a naturally occurring thing? - RHMiller, on 05/24/2008, -0/+1I was having this same discussion with a friend who compared global warming skeptics to Holocaust deniers. Two minutes later he was back-peddling like Hillary Clinton. One was a factual, historical event corroborated by independent forms of evidence. The other is a theory and, most importantly, a "prediction". What irks me the most about the prediction is that no matter what happens (hot weather or cold weather) it validates the experts' claims. They have set up the discussion so they are never wrong. Sounds like religion to me.
