- endofnite, on 08/17/2008, -1/+5This is just unbelievable - I've never ever heard of a tornado in Europa- if politics doesn't trip you out of late, the weather should :P...
And of course since theres never been a friggin tornado in Europa, there was a shortage of Digg's European tornado icons available for the post, hence the duck in the picture above, i think thats what it is..- piotr84, on 08/17/2008, -0/+2Actually there are few small tornadoes (F0, F1 like this one) per year in Poland, so its nothing new.
In 1931 near Lublin the biggest one has F5 or F6 in tornadoes scale and it overturned coal loaded train. - GlobalistShill, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1I'm pretty sure it's a King Penguin:

Actually, I thought it was a nice touch... LOL!

- kazz67, on 08/17/2008, -4/+3And some people still insist climate change isn't real!
- ciaran036, on 08/17/2008, -0/+3I can guarantee you now nothing has changed where I live. It's the exact same story year in year out. I can remember 10 years ago, the weather being exactly the same as it is now. It is not any wetter, it is not any colder, it is not any warmer and it is not any drier!
I've been in a hurricane before - but they happen all the time in Florida - and there is no real proof that the frequency and intensity has increased.
I've also been in Europe's worst floods in 30 years, but again if there was a worse flood 30 years ago then we can't say "Oh look it's Global warming". And of course it's a bad flood - in 30 years settlements and populations have massively grown - thus more people and more homes will be affected. It's ***** simple when you use your brain instead of letting the newspapers and TV think for you!
It ain't happening till I see it happening. All I've got is conflicting evidence. And as far as the official stories go in my geography books, it's question marks everywhere - Geographers and climatologists only THINK the climate is changing, and they aren't even 100% sure if Carbon Dioxide is causing climate change.

- Mihey, on 08/17/2008, -3/+4Huh... There have always been storm vortexes in Europe. Buried as inaccurate. Silly Americans don't have a clue about European weather.
- endofnite, on 08/17/2008, -1/+1Yes but has there ever been a fatality? Silly continentals, Vortexes, whoa :P
- endofnite, on 08/17/2008, -2/+1Now after doing some research (wikipedia, of course, that great big , free Cliff notes in the sky) it seems that perhaps tornadoes have touched down in Europa before, but has there ever been a fatality?
- ciaran036, on 08/17/2008, -1/+7Tornado's happen all the time in Europe!!
You just don't hear about them because they happen in the middle of nowhere and there too small to cause serious damage. - Ferre1, on 08/17/2008, -0/+4The Diggers who stated above that Tornado's do happen in Europe are right. In the Netherlands for example they are called a "windhoos" (Dutch for Tornado) and they are not uncommon at all. Reuters should start to check their sources, this is really ridiculous.
- zmedico, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1Strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would escalate the arms race by installing a missile "defence" shield.
http://digg.com/world_news/Russia_could_strike_Pol ... - zombo, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2Buried as inaccurate, The UK has the highest frequency of tornadoes in the world per square mile.
