- cashman57, on 06/02/2008, -0/+4We added to our daughters education at home. We always had opportunities for learning available and took her many places to study things in real life. The result was her graduation as the valedictorian, and engineering degree, and a top corporation hired her before she graduated college.
This is a must do for people who have kids in public school. You must be able to factually refute the crap they teach while also putting the idea of continuing education in their heads early on.
Spending time with your kids with learning games like scrabble and teaching them music is very beneficial. You need to prepare them for life in the real world and develop in them a sense of self worth.- Joeprah, on 06/02/2008, -0/+2Amazing comment. Thanks!
- Qong, on 06/03/2008, -0/+1I think that it's more of a cultural issue than anything else. That should be obvious to everyone. Take a look at countries where females are not treated well, they perform poorly at things statistically because they are being held back by the culture.
As cashman57 said in his comment. Simply moving a child from the culture of public schools and into your own home, where you can teach them within your very own culture, with your own teaching style and strategy, makes all the difference in the world. That isn't to say that his daughter would not have succeeded had she been in a public school, I have no doubt that she would have; but she would have undoubtedly had many more obstacles to overcome to reach her current point and status in life.
