Electricity use zaps previous records - SoCal

dailybreeze.com — Record heat prompted record electricity use across the South Bay on Friday, passing a benchmark set just a day earlier, utility officials said. On Thursday, customers with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power set a record for the highest peak demand ever in June, when demand reached 5,856 megawatts, according to the city-owned utility.
