EU considers sanctions on Russia, BBC BULL ***** PROPAGANDA
news.bbc.co.uk — WTF, Georgia attacks South Ossetia, which has been a break away republic for over 20 years, Russia protects the citizens from genocide and the Western governments twist it to make out we need more nukes to protect us all. America and the UK have much to answer for in this world.

More USA sponsored terrorism much like the genocide in Palestine by the Israelis with the billions $ of free aid given to them by the USA.

Bush and the Georgia-Russia conflict
http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/08/406684.html - ciaran036, on 08/28/2008, -0/+15When is Britain and America being sanctioned for the illegal and brutal occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan?
Who the hell gave the right to Europe to "sanction" countries for perceived wrongdoings?
And how come Europe has not considered sanctions against Georgia?
Those are rhetorical questions of course. The answer is that the West, lead primarily by America is seeking a third world war, either by provoking China, Iran or Russia - or a combination.- ciaran036, on 08/28/2008, -0/+8Oh and it's absolutely correct in saying "BBC ***** propaganda".
BBC is public relations for the government. I've been watching BBC News all my life and not once have they deviated from the 'official' version of events. It's always the government says this, a politician says that, a police man said one thing, government statistics say that thing etc.
About the only time where anyone has a say is on the odd occasion when they interview people - but not for their political opinion - usually to hear their story of a flood or a car accident or something.
And the 'Have Your Say' section of the BBC is supposed to be where readers get a chance to speak, but unfortunately the questions are always dictated by the BBC and usually present questions along with a lot of lies and distortions to manipulate opinion. Fortunately, the 'Most Recommended' user comments are usually those that bash either the government or the BBC.
This particular article does not give us the full picture. Real news would remind us that recognising the independence of these regions is not a bad thing and point us towards the "military actions" of Britain, America and Israel, for example.

- 911ArtStudent, on 08/28/2008, -0/+11Buchanan did a good job of summarizing the conflict:

I thought France and Germany would help end this conflict (they're the ones who prevented Georgia from entering NATO back in April, and they're allies with Russia, specially Germany.. not so sure about France), but they're now just following US's game..
Also, China is now involved.. I hope it puts enough pressure on NATO to stop this let's-screw-with-the-russians insanity... - slavix, on 08/28/2008, -0/+12Everyone who wants to understand what is going in this conflict needs get some info outside the western corporate media! They are misinforming the public about the whole thing.
Please watch this interview Putin gave to CNN, of which CNN chose to show just a few clips.

People do your own research and do not buy the lies they are telling you on FOX, CNN and others. You are being neo-conned! - ciaran036, on 08/28/2008, -0/+12I'm ***** fuming. My article about Western media deceiving the public about the Georgian-Russian conflict on the frontpage has been marked as inaccurate! You must be living underneath a rock if you haven't seen the blatantly anti-Russia propaganda. If Russia had actually done something that was worse than the US and Britain's illegal and unjust brutal occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, then I wouldn't ***** mind.
- writie, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1China has not approved the Russian recognition. So the "western media" angle will only go so far. If we approve Russia's intervention, we might as well recognise Israel's annexation of the West Bank and its foray into Lebanon two years ago. It's also worth checking Russia's treatment of Chechenya, which was also calling for self-determination.
