Dying spy's message to 'barbaric' Putin

    I have been keeping up with the issue as well and personally from what I have heard, I too am saying Putin was behind this man's poisoning.

For example the Soviet Union supplied gas to Europe during the Cold War. They needed money, Europe needed gas. It's not a question of sucking up, it's just business.

      In any case, who ever did it will get away with it, because the UK and every other country reserves the right to conduct such operations. The UK wouldn't want its own assassins convicted.

      They'll go have a laugh about all this at the next WTO meeting. Then they'll discuss what war to start next.

      I'm not saying Putin didn't do it, but the hype the media creates around everything is sickening. At one point they said Polonium-210 most likely came from the Soviet space program, like no one else has easy access to it!

    • sanman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I don't think Putin is a scumbag, I think that's just the "liberals" (Cold War die-hards in disguise, pretending to be all freedom-loving) are more interesting in pushing the Russians' backs to the wall, and then crying foul when they lash out swinging. I think many of the "liberals" (who were very happy to support Chechens, Kosovo Liberation Army and other non-state violators of human rights) are actually spoiling for another Cold War fight. The whole reason these "liberals" are angry at Bush right now, is because he's taken Western gunsights off the Russian forehead and re-targetted them against Middle Eastern militants.

      Bah, the Cold War is an old war, and if you're spoiling for a fight with the Russians again, then you're no liberal -- you're just a Cold War hawk masquerading as a liberal. Dialogue with the Russians and help to assuage their fears on separatism, and you'll see positive results. But the "liberals" only adopt such thinking when it comes to engaging Islamists (ie. dialogue with Iran which has assassinated very many foreign exiles, or dialogue with Islamists who openly call for destruction of the West)

      I call that ugly hypocrisy. I call that a total lack of credibility. Selective liberalism isn't liberalism at all. It's just a clever way for White Euro-centrists to pull a fast one and hood-wink the rest of the world.

The message is blunt: "Get on my bad side and you will die in slow and unexpected ways." Radiation poisoning is an extremely unpleasant form of death, although if Mr. Putin's standards are to be taken at face value (inadvisable,) not a "violent" one. Personally, if I was on Putin's *****, I'd opt for the "violent" hit and be done with it. That is some seriously psychopathic gangland *****, injecting your enemy with radioactive poison.

Tragic and disturbing in that this is the SECOND TIME in a very brief period that a critic of the Kremlin has been murdered. It's quite clear that Russia does not want Chechnya to exist, and now it's also clear that they'll do anything necessary to justify victory.

    firstly KGB is like FBI, it existed when there was the Soviet Union( ended 1991) Which meant no more KGB, some started working for the FSB(the new 'kgb' or translated at federal service bureau). Putin was never know about to anyone until late 90's. Putin himself was KGB. At the time when KGB existed no one gave a damn about chechnya..as they were surrounded by other countries in the soviet union..kazakhstan.etc Putin killed Anna(jounalist) and Alex. The next death is coming soon is all I can say. p.s I am russian,

The guy was a bodyguard and long time friend of Boris Abramovich Berezovsky a russian oligarch and accused crime figure in russia who Litvinenko claims the FSB tried to have him assassinate (wile Litvinenko just happened to be linked to him).

Claims the bomber the FSB caught didnt know khattab the man claiming responsibility and being blamed by the Kremlin. FSB released a photo showing the bomber with Khattab, but who are you to believe a FSB traitor that tells far fetched storiesto grind or your own lying eyes.

      BBC also forgets to mention Litvinenko is working with a chechen website in the UK.

      The picture is there and look up Gochiyayev. Like I said will you believe the FSB traitor or your own lying eyes?

    Soviet Union ends, Russia needs money, owns lots and lots decides to sell for very cheap. BB buys and A is a good friend of his. He buys out nearly all the media (BB) near the mid 90's. Putin is starting to get into politics. Late 90's BB is being forced to sell all his companies by putin and go to war in chechnya why? So he has a 'democratic' country where the state controls the media and used A as an excuse saying BB is funding chechnya which isn't true. Abramovich would of been in BB situation but he invested in things that help the economy and cannot do harm .e.g media. I know someone that works for the most popular TV station( director) he said 95% of the stories have something to in-directly or directly to do with Putin. They aren't allowed to publish anything without his press permission. So anyways..
    Anya the journalist who got killed had info proving that Putin went to Chechnya for nothing and killed Innocent people.. AL got the info she had and gets killed..coincidence anyone?

      Anna Politkovskaya was investigating Chechen Prime Minster Ramzan Kadyrov at the time of her murder not Putin.
      Litvinenko was getting info for a chechen online propaganda site(Kavkaz Center) I suggest you read litvinenko's writings on it. He's a nut job with KGB-FSB credentials

      Chechnya HAD independence after the first war, and they attacked their neighbors. This is what some people seem to forget. They seem to think Russia provoked the Chechens into a second war.

      What the Chechens did was like Mexico attacking Puerto Rico. The US would have intervened in that just like Russia did. Or how Serbia did in Kosovo.

      And what the hell do you call the war in Iraq!? The British need to stop being such hypocrites. Chechnya was no worse than Iraq, and Kosovo was not the genocide the BBC and CNN claimed it was.

      What is the UK doing about Sudan, if it's so concerned about human rights and genocide? In Sudan there WAS genocide, and the UK did nothing!

    A lot of the people, who make comments about Russia being undemocratic or how the citizens of the country should rise up to the despotic leader , should realize that the situation in Russia is different than it is in US or UK , so your ideals, values, or beliefs don't apply in the same way they do in the west.
