- rexblade, on 11/17/2008, -1/+72Would be kinda funny to ***** with cops doing this.( Masked IP address and some novelty spring loaded surprise snakes lol) Im sure there is an unsolved murder or corrupt politician somewhere they could be investigating. Is trolling craigslist looking for a 20 sack a good use of taxpayer money?
- AmyVernon, on 11/17/2008, -0/+66oh, c'mon - who didn't see this coming??
- ProfessorLX, on 11/17/2008, -1/+62anyone wanna buy a 20 sack?
- Peko, on 11/17/2008, -1/+45I actually had to google up why skiing was code for cocaine. I'm officially old now.
- infernal6, on 11/18/2008, -0/+44Tell me more about these code words...
- tjallen, on 11/18/2008, -3/+43Digg me if you've ever wanted to buy sex or drugs over Craig's, but haven't because you're scared about doing it. I know it's there, but I'll never bite. That's me.
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+33This is not craigslist's problem. If the cops can't catch criminals using their ample public funding, then tough *****. Craigslist is a valuable tool that will not be compromised just so some lazy narcs can do less actual detective work.
- RickRolla, on 11/18/2008, -1/+33so dudes in NYC are making craigslist posts like "I got that weed son, holla!"?
- Mujokan, on 11/18/2008, -1/+32Google just reported you to the DEA.
- duggdowncatisad, on 11/18/2008, -0/+30I don't think the library would be happy if they found out you were trying to sell their computer.
- digg1520, on 11/18/2008, -0/+30New way to make money: selling overpriced ski lift tickets to undercover cops.
- MilesyMiles, on 11/18/2008, -1/+29But what about all those people out there that were genuinely looking forward to getting Tina Turner concert tickets?!?
.....*crickets*.... - painted82, on 11/18/2008, -2/+30Why can't an adult take whatever he wants into his own body? Who owns the body? Himself or the government?
- imacommi, on 11/17/2008, -0/+28Good luck stopping this, as long as people can come up with new "code words" the game will continue. Unless Craig's list stops functioning, or cops get smarter.
- bixby1, on 11/17/2008, -2/+27Do the drugs come with a late-night dirty pirate hooker?
If so, I'm in. - Altair27, on 11/18/2008, -0/+23The internet is a series of tubes. Some of these tubes are bound to lead to drugs, which will often fit easily through the tubes.
- skeletorcares, on 11/18/2008, -0/+23[more monotonous than Ben Stein] yes, here is my number, 9-1-1. tell me how.
- getrealnow, on 11/18/2008, -0/+22HOLY ***** MAN, 420 MEANS WEED? THIS WHOLE TIME.
- imasuperDOTcom, on 11/17/2008, -0/+21I don't have much money for christmas and I was just hoping that someone here on craigslist would be willing to give me an ounce or two...
- mattlohkamp, on 11/18/2008, -1/+21are you actually questioning 'the war on drugs'? what next, 'the war on terror'? do you love america, son?
- weister42, on 11/18/2008, -0/+17Go on a date with Mary Jane - price varies
- DRT23, on 11/18/2008, -0/+16What's love got to do with itttttt
- skeletorcares, on 11/18/2008, -0/+15What do i do? run to craigslist and try it out.
- psykiv, on 11/18/2008, -2/+16***** you, two of my friends died buying hookers and blow from craigslist.
- Gemfinder, on 11/18/2008, -1/+15If it's gotta happen, I'd rather it be over Craig's List than via live dealers...with live ammunition...out on the street corners.
- JFitzpatrick, on 11/18/2008, -0/+14Woe to the man who confuses his code words an ends up with a tranny hooker instead of a dime bag.
- Spoomeister, on 11/18/2008, -0/+14Baby on ceiling.
- Laminated, on 11/18/2008, -0/+13I've got a couple grams of Marlin Brando for sale
- JFitzpatrick, on 11/18/2008, -1/+13Oh yes because if there is -anything- cops love, it's being ***** with. I wake up every morning and spend at least ten minutes brainstorming ways to antagonize people with access to teargas and automatic weapons.
- empath, on 11/18/2008, -1/+13Is anyone else pissed off that the citigroup guy got off with probation? I know people that did serious time for much less drugs than that.
- Vorphlack, on 11/18/2008, -0/+11what's the code word for heroin?
- maximilen, on 11/18/2008, -0/+11I remember way back in high school pagers were outlawed in order to stop "drug-dealers" from operating... Sigh
- groo68, on 11/18/2008, -0/+11crackheads and crack dealers are different people.
- peticsu, on 11/18/2008, -0/+10Bobby Brown or Whitney Houston would be more appropriate
- okyourturn, on 11/18/2008, -0/+10"Anyone want to go to roxy and get high and enjoy hex hector? E., K, Snow, tina, its all good," he wrote on craigslist.
haha. he deserved to get caught. - BlatheringIdiot, on 11/18/2008, -0/+9I heard she was a seedy character and you ought to ditch her fast.
- psykiv, on 11/18/2008, -0/+9To everyone saying that the cops should concentrate on real criminals or just legalize and tax it. Lately it actually feels like that's what they've been doing.
I have sat in countless cases and I have been noticing the trend of huge fines and little/no jailtime and probation for people caught selling drugs. I hope the trend continues. I guess they finally realized the economy is bad, and it's stupid to house all these non-violent criminals at their cost when instead they can just fine them and actually make money. - hooah212002, on 11/18/2008, -0/+8I believe his point was that it is stupid to house pety drug dealers along with violent murderers and rapists. But you are too idiotic to see that.
- Foofoofoofoobar, on 11/18/2008, -1/+9Why don't the cops respond to the ads rather than forcing craigslist to censor itself? Seems like it would make their anti-drugs thing a whole lot more effective without being shady on the First Amendment.
- psykiv, on 11/18/2008, -0/+8reading > you.
I have sat in countless cases. (background: im doing an legal internship thing) where I have personally witnessed judges giving drug dealers high fines, instead of jail/prison. I did not get a break (why would I need one? I don't sell drugs)
Yes, I would say that the majority of these small drug dealers (which happen to be the ones they catch, they'll never catch a big one) are pretty freaking harmless. - XtheXlanternX, on 11/18/2008, -2/+10who got that hydro
who got that light green
who got that bobby brown
who got bin laden weed - barroni, on 11/18/2008, -2/+10For Sale this PC for Meth
- danthepiercer, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7yes, please.
- chuckDontSurf, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7Just "heroin." The police haven't caught on yet.
- maximilen, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7I remember way back in high school pagers were outlawed in order to stop "drug-dealers" from operating... Sigh
- BlatheringIdiot, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7One case involved a Citigroup vice president, Mark Rayner, 33, who was selling Ecstasy.
"Anyone want to go to roxy and get high and enjoy hex hector? E., K, Snow, tina, its all good," he wrote on craigslist.
He did the deal near his midtown office, giving an undercover agent 50 Ecstasy pills and 7 grams of cocaine for $1,200. He pleaded guilty to sale of a controlled substance and got five years' probation.
WTF WTF WTF. hand slap. federal minimums do not apply here? - groo68, on 11/18/2008, -1/+8More like "Mary Jane Watson's gotten fat and sticky, now she's selling herself by the ounce. email me to get a piece."
- inactive, on 11/18/2008, -0/+7brb looking for some tina turner
- brentinkc, on 11/18/2008, -1/+8*looks around ponderingly*
