- mykalimba, on 10/15/2008, -2/+83I just finished watching all three videos and I am sickened by what I saw. Never before have I actually felt ashamed to be an American.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzalez, John Yoo, Major General Jeffrey Miller (and many more I'm sure) -- in doing what they have done, these war criminals have jeopardized the lives of any and all American soldiers captured in future conflicts.
ALL ARE WAR CRIMINALS. ALL SHOULD HANG FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE.- seddyei, on 10/16/2008, -1/+14Hanging is a bit inhumane, instead, we should waterboard them...
- boulder555, on 10/15/2008, -2/+69Darn it, that Constitution is just soooo inconvenient; and those first 10 Amendments .... grrrr.
- Observant1, on 10/15/2008, -2/+53just watched whole thing myself and the war criminals of DC need to be subjected to the same fate and treatment, for the rest of their lives. the world needs to respond and make it happen. strip them of wealth, dignity, and given the torture they approved of and worse. no ***** of pardoning cheney who becomes president to turn around and pardon bush, ANYONE involved in this who didnt turn around and SHOOT their commanding officer DEAD is guilty. saying so makes ME the terrorist to these criminally insane SOB's, well good, they deserve to be punished. hanging is too good for them.
- swrostmore, on 10/15/2008, -2/+60After PBS aired the documentary "Bush's War," President Bush cut their funding in half for 2010 and eliminated it entirely for 2011 in an obvious act of recrimination. PBS' corporate leadership obviously got the message, because they are refusing to air this unbelievably powerful documentary about Bush's torture regime until the day after he leaves office. So it's our duty to push this into the public eye - this is what viral media is all about!
- JenniferInMO, on 10/16/2008, -2/+14I think those funding cuts were stopped before they went through, but they tried many times to completely cut off funding for the CPB which controls PBS and NPR
- innthebasement, on 10/16/2008, -1/+21Will be watching this video!
Interesting! - debunkthelies, on 10/16/2008, -2/+29There is a time when money should have no place in a moral decision. This is one of those times.
- bucketslogg, on 10/16/2008, -1/+24I only read the memos... that's bad enough for me and it amazes me that these criminals still breath the same air that we do. That they do, lessens us in the eyes of the world, and rightly so.
- Hillsfar, on 10/16/2008, -2/+24Show the movie, PBS. Then get Obama elected. The funding will come.
- muckemuck, on 10/16/2008, -1/+7.... from where? We're broke. We're over 10 Trillion in debt, and have almost 100 Trillion in unfunded programs like medicaid, social security, etc..
It's as if we we're sitting in a million dollar home that we owed on, we have $75,000 in credit card debt, all of our furniture was bought on credit and is still being paid for, our new cars are leased, and we only earn an average salary.. yet you're telling your buds "eh, let's all go out to eat, I'll buy!". What's more money on the pile of debt we'll never repay, eh? The only problem is - at some point the bill collector is going to come calling. At some point the world is going to wake up and realize THEY are funding our extravagant lifestyles. - stienster, on 10/18/2008, -1/+1Hillsfar>>>>oh man... wake up dude. Obama is in on the evil scam. There aren't any dems or repubs... it's all a show and we're their idiot audience. If the voting system has the possibility of not being rigged again, then vote for a third-party candidate. They're the only people who aren't involved in the evil power elite's scheme to transform the world with their NWO.
- muckemuck, on 10/16/2008, -1/+7.... from where? We're broke. We're over 10 Trillion in debt, and have almost 100 Trillion in unfunded programs like medicaid, social security, etc..
- lweissberg, on 10/16/2008, -1/+22I don't know too much about the legal implications here. Any chance of them being tried for war crimes?
- StarThrower2, on 10/16/2008, -1/+11A Nuremberg chief prosecutor says there is a case for trying Bush for the 'supreme crime against humanity, an illegal war of aggression against a sovereign nation.'
The problem is, Americans seem to think that we're more special than other citizens on the planet -- different from other countries who've committed war crimes, and there's even a feeling of surprise that we would actually be subjected to be accused of something as heinous as war crimes.
From an article in AlterNet:
"From the massacre of more than 100,000 people in the Philippines to the first nuclear attack ever at Hiroshima to the unprovoked invasion of Baghdad, U.S.-sponsored violence doesn't feel as wrong and worthy of prosecution in internationally sanctioned criminal courts as the gory, bload-soaked atrocities of Congo, Darfur, Rwanda, and most certainly not the Nazis -- most certainly not. Howard Zinn recently described this as our "inability to think outside the boundaries of nationalism. We are penned in by the arrogant idea that this country is the center of the universe, exceptionally virtuous, admirable, superior." [http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/34984/]
"But the truth is that we can, and we have -- most recently and significantly in Iraq. Perhaps no person on the planet is better equipped to identify and describe our crimes in Iraq than Benjamin Ferencz, a former chief prosecutor of the Nuremberg Trials who successfully convicted 22 Nazi officers for their work in orchestrating death squads that killed more than one million people in the famous Einsatzgruppen Case. Ferencz, now 87, has gone on to become a founding father of the basis behind international law regarding war crimes, and his essays and legal work drawing from the Nuremberg trials and later the commission that established the International Criminal Court remain a lasting influence in that realm.
"Ferencz's biggest contribution to the war crimes field is his assertion that an unprovoked or "aggressive" war is the highest crime against mankind. It was the decision to invade Iraq in 2003 that made possible the horrors of Abu Ghraib, the destruction of Fallouja and Ramadi, the tens of thousands of Iraqi deaths, civilian massacres like Haditha, and on and on. FERENCZ BELIEVES THAT A 'PRIMA CASE CAN BE MADE THAT THE UNITED STATES IS GUILTY OF THE SUPREME CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY, THAT BEING AN ILLEGAL WAR OF AGGRESSION AGAINST A SOVEREIGN NATION."
. . . "The suggestion that the Bush administration's conduct in the "war on terror" amounts to a string of war crimes and human rights abuses is gaining credence in even the most ossified establishment circles of Washington. Justice Anthony Kennedy's opinion in the recent Hamdan v. Rumsfeld ruling by the Supreme Court suggests that Bush's attempt to ignore the Geneva Conventions in his approved treatment of terror suspects may leave him open to prosecution for war crimes ..."
(As I understand it, Rumsfeld is actually liable for arrest in some countries as a war criminal for his use of torture.)
"And since Congress enacted the Geneva Conventions, making them the law of the United States, any violations that Bush or any other American commits "are considered 'war crimes' punishable as federal offenses," as Justice Kennedy wrote.
There are many grassroots organizations, as well as members of Congress who have been calling for investigation into war crimes committed by our own government. They deserve and need our support, if such trials will ever become a possibility.
The AlterNet article finishes with the question, "George W. Bush in the dock facing a charge of war crimes? That's well beyond the scope of possibility ... or is it?" - stienster, on 10/18/2008, -1/+2lweissberg>>>>By whom?- The UN is the head office of the NWO, and the NWO is the big mama of all the evil power elites.
- StarThrower2, on 10/16/2008, -1/+11A Nuremberg chief prosecutor says there is a case for trying Bush for the 'supreme crime against humanity, an illegal war of aggression against a sovereign nation.'
- MorganMghee, on 10/16/2008, -2/+18While you're digging on PBS, check out this expose on education in America, you can watch it from your computer in 5 segments. http://www.pbs.org/wnet/wherewestand/ If you're in WA, you can check the tv schedule here: http://www.kcts9.org/tvschedule If not, you can look up your local station and check their schedule here: http://www.pbs.org/stationfinder/index.html
- jodimcmullen, on 10/16/2008, -1/+25The mainstream media also shares the blame for witholding information from the public.
- 2trkpony, on 10/19/2008, -0/+4They are indeed part of the problem. They are completely complicit.
- Awesomecat, on 11/03/2008, -0/+2Fortunately, the Internet is slowly replacing television.
- manzplan, on 10/16/2008, -1/+21There have been a few shows airing here in Canada that also are banned from USA.. especailly alot after 9/11...
hope Canada gets this too! - JoeParanoid, on 10/16/2008, -1/+23If you're not outraged by this practice, then don't pretend you give a crap on election day.
- Truzseeker, on 10/16/2008, -1/+17yes...ban the first amendment...what a bunch of nonsense
- StarThrower2, on 10/16/2008, -1/+19I just checked my local PBS station to see WHEN they would be airing Torturing Democracy. Guess what? After a big run-around about not being able to upset local programming with specials (Whaaaa???) -- and that they had a committee who decided what was aired and what wasn't -- in the most condescending tone -- and after I insisted over and over that if a decision had been made NOT to show it that I wanted to be given the reason why, I was finally told that it would be aired in December.
AFTER the election!!
I am so angry. I live in North Carolina, and my local PBS station is WUNC-TV. ANYBODY FROM NORTH CAROLINA PLEASE CALL THEM AND DEMAND TO KNOW WHY IT'S NOT BEING SHOWN UNTIL AFTER THE ELECTION! They can be reached at 1-888-292-7070.
Call soon, it's getting late in the afternoon! - ssn697, on 10/17/2008, -1/+18At LEAST look at the supporting documentation, if you are too in the tank to watch the video. Most are official government documents, so there is no need to ignore them because of some "it's liberal lies" claim.
- jodimcmullen, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9I'm glad we can at least watch it online. PBS should be free to air this. it is the ultimate censorship when our only Public channel is difficult to get, and is politically oppressed.
- dildoolielly, on 10/17/2008, -0/+17A "Practicing Democracy"?
You're kidding, right?!
God, I can't wait till the nutjobs are out of power - svjim, on 10/17/2008, -0/+20My father was a soldier during WW II and after the war our family traveled around the world with him and the army and I've seen and remember the destruction that was brought on by evil. It is always hard to believe that the country that you love can have practiced and maybe still is practicing such totally evil and inhuman methods against other human beings. There simply is no justification for such inhuman treatment of others. In Germany, at one concentration camp after it was liberated the citizens of the local town were force to come to the concentration camp and bury the dead so they could experience the consequences of what was done in their name. This documentary should be required viewing by all Americans so we too can know what was done in our name.
- magus_melchior, on 10/17/2008, -0/+19The reason why the Bush administration is suppressing this (and you can bet really good money that Cheney and Addington are behind it) is because people will get on Congress' ass demanding an investigation, a Special Prosecutor, and an impeachment of the entire Bush White House from the President on down.
Of course, being unitary executive theorists, that amounts to treason in their eyes. So, should anyone even organize a big protest, you can bet that US Army North Command will send in their freshly-trained brigade for some "crowd control".
I've said this in another thread: Get this video outside US borders, copyrights be damned. Smuggle it to China, Russia, and Sweden, and let Bittorrent take care of the rest. If that does not motivate the UN to press for war crimes trials, nothing will.- sheeplescareme, on 10/17/2008, -0/+6i uploaded onto yt twice. as soon as i started to get a bunch of hits, my accounts were closed for copyright. never had a problem with lifting pbs stuff before. my friend in sweden was able to dl part of it before it was removed. i'm going through yt accounts like crazy recently. i'll try again tomorrow.
- 2trkpony, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2Have you tried Google video? I've had great success uploading several large documentaries there with no problem. Yet! (knock on wood..) heh.
- iridesce, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2No torrent ???

- hillkiwi, on 10/17/2008, -0/+13It would be interesting to see what would happen if the UN said they wanted these people to be put on trial. Obviously they wouldn't voluntarily go, and nobody has the military strength to go into the US and take them by force. I imagine they would they simply never be able to leave US soil again - if they landed in Germany or France (for example) they'd be arrested at the airport.
- allowners, on 10/18/2008, -0/+4Citizen's arrest.
- stienster, on 10/18/2008, -1/+3The UN is the head office of the NWO.
- mvlazysusan, on 10/19/2008, -0/+2dick had to run from france but exolent IDA
- caferrell, on 10/18/2008, -0/+18I sincerely hope that Baltazar Garzón or some other top international judge puts out an arrest warrant for George Bush and Dick Cheney. At the least these men would be unable to travel outside of America and then all Americans would become aware of what has been done in our name.
- bonk2k, on 10/18/2008, -0/+19Just the fact that this was "banned" speaks volumes. Just the fact that anything is banned by an American president speaks volumes.
- cruzecon, on 10/18/2008, -0/+16Let's all figure out how to get copies of this report and have "House parties" to show it, have a copy put at each local library as a donation and offer to show it for free at other events including food and drink. That usually gets some interested.
I think this was actually aired on my local PBS(WKOP/WETP?)- late at night but aired. I am a bad person because I missed it, at that time. By the way, this is the RED part of my state.- allowners, on 10/18/2008, -1/+3I was thinking the same, however on the website the DVD for sale is for "home use," which technically means you could not do public showings. This wouldn't be a problem for house parties or donating to public libraries, but it would be a problem for public events. They need to offer more options so that people can spread the news that our media refuses to disseminate, due to political reasons, in a timely manner. Reputable news sources needs to be rebuilt from the ground up in the US. We need to get busy people.
- stienster, on 10/18/2008, -2/+8We American's are only complicit in as far as we believed what we were told and shown. But since I've learned how far the evil elites have gone to be certain that most of us are too tired, too under-educated, too weakened by chemical ingredients in our 'food' and water, I no longer feel the guilt of having voted for that lying evil murderer called the president and his crew of demons.
- rightwingattila, on 10/19/2008, -11/+1Oh yeah, because of THIS American prisoners in other countries will be tortured??? What is ya, stupid? Name one Islamic country that treats prisoners according to the Geneva Convention, just ONE! These murderers behead prisoners, no questions asked. Or are you all this blind?
How many times have we been attacked since 911? That’s what I thought. This administration has kept us safe and you jokers want to try President Bush for war crimes?
The Bill of Rights was written for AMERICANS, NOT for TERRORISTS!!!
Our founding Fathers are turning over in their graves at all you cowards.
Only libels coddle terrorists! Islamofascists LAUGH at all of you for your weakness. Please get fitted for your burkas.
You all make me ill.- rightwingattila, on 10/19/2008, -4/+1All I have to say to my government regarding a captured terrorist? Red is Positive and Black is Negative. AND don’t let them attack us or our troops ever again, make sure of it!
- rightwingattila, on 10/19/2008, -2/+1Yes, of course, digg me down but by all means don't try and refute what I have said. Cowards!!!
- allowners, on 10/19/2008, -1/+4It's immaterial whether this or that other country subscribes to the Geneva Conventions, as a civilized country we once purportedly did, just as, on the surface, we were once a nation of laws.
Executions are indeed gruesome, and beheading is the customary method in some middle eastern countries, including Saudi Arabia, where I've heard they have public beheadings in a place referred to as Chop Chop Square.
http://www.victorhanson.com/articles/burton041805. ...
Is torturing an innocent person for years justified because there is injustice and evil in the world? Is torturing a person for years any less inhuman than beheading somebody? Which would you choose for yourself? Is evil the justification for more evil?
It hasn't been necessary for terrorists to attack us again because they accomplished everything they set out to accomplish with the first attack. They brought us down to their level, they bankrupted us as a nation financially and morally.
The Bill of Rights was written for humans to protect them from authoritarian moral degenerates.
You are confused, cowardice is not synonymous with fear, it is revealed in the surrender to fear, the surrender of rational thought and principle. Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves at cowards of your ilk, who have been cowered into surrendering everything to a fear that can never be quenched. On what rational basis, on what principle does the torture of innocents rest? How does invading a country which had no connection to 9/11 whatsoever placate your fears? Your fears are driving you to insatiable hatred, by design.
Only moral degenerates surrender to terrorists and become one in spirit with them. You are a sad individual.- rightwingattila, on 10/19/2008, -3/+1"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
Continue to coddle the terrorists. Eventually we will have to fight them. I'd rather it be now rather then later. How about you? Or would you rather assign this to our children? - allowners, on 10/20/2008, -0/+1Agreed, they should be arrested and removed from our government before it is too late for our children.
- rightwingattila, on 10/19/2008, -3/+1"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke
- swrostmore, on 10/19/2008, -1/+2If Islamic countries don't respect the Geneva conventions, perhaps you'd be more comfortable if you moved to one? Because my country is supposed to, and frankly people like you aren't welcome here.

- MediaWeasel, on 10/19/2008, -0/+13I'd never wish death or torture on anyone, even in revenge. But those criminals in the White House must be prosecuted and imprisoned.

STRAIGHTALK - rightwingattila, on 10/19/2008, -9/+1All you losers will look good in burkas. Get used to it! You cowards make me sick!!! Either we fight this now or leave it to our children. What's it gonna be? Are you men or cowards?
