Diggers: Help Interpol Get This Freak Pedophile

ap.google.com — PARIS (AP) — He apparently traveled the world sexually abusing young boys, but remained unidentifiable — until now. Police in Europe have unscrambled digitally altered images found on the Internet to reveal the face of a man shown abusing boys in Vietnam and Cambodia.

After he got out of prison, he ran a website on the 'net, which I shall not name. He posed as a 15 year old boy, who said he had been sexually abused. Long story short, he now lives elsewhere, and his website has been shut down, along with his MySpace profile and his YouTube account. How does this relate to this article? Always be wary and cautious. There are creeps like this guy everywhere. That is why this douchbag tried to disguise himself. He just might be the guy who's living with his mommy, in a filthy house, just 500 feet from your home.

The bottom line is, his website was shut down, for all of the obvious reasons. His MySpace account was shut down recently, when MySpace 'cleaned house', so to speak - deleted the accounts of all sexual predators. His YouTube account also had 'boy movies', and was shot down as well. I find your comment highly offensive and totally stupid. It appears as though you are siding with this disgusting piece of work. You are no better than he is, or this sexual pr editor that Interpol is looking for.

A website that shows pictures of scantily clad juvenile boys is catering to this crowd of people - pedophiles. Obviously, there is something very wrong if this website were shut down. The website also gave instructions on how to remove 'things' from your computer, so that it could never be detected, if something 'bad' were to have been downloaded.

            'Boy movies' - if you visit some of the 'boy love' websites, they are a big hit. My worry is that there were pictures of young boys - boys that looked like boys from your neighborhood. Riding bikes, wrestling, etc. My concern is - did their parents given consent for this man to upload pictures of these boys, to be displayed on his website? A website run by a bi-sexual, 15 year old boy, who likes to be spanked? What's wrong with you people?

It hurts someone circumstantially to be falsely accused, and usually false accusations don't make it to the courtroom, but it actively hurts many people to ignore an accusation. In fact, I deny that you could find a case where someone was "ruined for life" based on a false accusation of this sort, or that you could even find a case where someone was shown to be falsely accused. That's because we under-report and under-investigate this issue, not the other way around.

That means there are children that were being abused, and they are trying to find the person that was abusing them. I don't know how you can call that a witch hunt, regardless of if you don't know who the children are or have an accurate picture of the abuser, you know that these are children being abused and I'd hope that all authorities would do their best to stop that.

        As far as being in Thailand, what difference does that make? There's a thriving sex tourist industry there, so everything is ok? That's *****, abuse is abuse, and children in Thailand are every much as human as children everywhere else. No it's not ok to go to Thailand to get an 11 year old prostitute, and yes you are still abusing children if you do that.

        Finally as far as digital reconstruction goes, it's really not that hard. If you gave me a couple of days I could probably un-whirl a picture like that just using matlab, and I haven't done too much image processing in the past 3 years. Anyone who's career it is to do this should be able to do it very easily. It really wouldn't be that hard. Even the AP was able to do an ok job getting the face with commercially available software. Yes I think the picture is reliable, especially if you got the same results over 6 pictures.

        Of course, Interpol is just a clearinghouse of information for National and local police forces around the world. They are obviously trying hard to slowly morph into a real police force with arresting powers and whatever else will make them feel more important and powerful, but as of now, they are simply a database and interchange of information.

I'm sure they used some sort of mathematical algorithm to reconstruct the image reversing the twirl effect and then "guessing" the original pixels.

All they did was move pixels around in "swirly" fashion; thus giving the effect of the swirling abnormality. Getting a major site such as Digg to view the image, leads to the immediate profiling of millions of people instantaneously. While it is random, someone may recognize him. Secondly, the ability to undo the image swirl is quite an amazing feat, and they've done a great job at it.
