'Dead Gazan' alive and kicking
ynetnews.com — Muhammad al-Harrani, a father of six from Gaza diagnosed with cancer who reportedly died while waiting for a permit to enter Israel, miraculously "came back to life." This was not the result of a miracle, but rather, just part of the tactics used by al-Harrani's family in a bid to secure a permit for him.

- yonoz, on 05/13/2008, -6/+29Some of the humanitarian organizations publish statistics without a minimal amount of scrutiny - but they always call for "thorough, independent" investigations of Israel security forces' activities in which Palestinians are harmed.
- kieranmaine, on 05/13/2008, -3/+10It's good things like this come out. Transparency is key to providing people with a clearer picture. Since the Physicians for Human Rights found out about this the next day did they report they had been duped? If they did at least they actively expose their own mistakes. On the other hand if they tried to cover it up, it does a dis service to other human rights groups.

- foopirata, on 05/13/2008, -3/+25Hey, of course it is a conspiracy by the ADL, Bnai Brit, IDF and the lizard men of Mars! Israel convinced (via AIPAC) the US to use ultra-duper-secret technology from Area 51 (which is, interestingly, 48+3, meaning, it was founded THREE YEARS after Israel - coincidence? the reader decides!), to revive this man only to disparage the "Physicians for Human Rights" organization!!
/sarcasm, sort of- dkapuchino, on 05/13/2008, -2/+22This is not surprising, to say the least. Sadly, those who have no problem sending 15 year olds with bombs strapped to their chests to blow up Israeli women and children, definitly have no problem spreading lies to the media. One must ask - why are the media and the "Human rights" group so quickly to accept the Palestinian reports? Time after time they have been proven to be inaccurate at the least, mostly fraudulent, and many times straight out fabrications.
Here's just a few of the previous examples of the Palestinians and Hezbollah tricking the media:

The problem is that when these Pallywood videos & doctored pictures come out, they do a lot of damage, and when they are proven false, you don't get the same traction on the true story as there was on the original fabricated story. It's a good idea to keep publicizing this though, and eventually the Palis will be seen as the manipulative lowlifes they are, preying on the fears, sympathies, and anti-Semitism of a leftist/progressive audience.
- IconoclastStill, on 05/13/2008, -1/+9The far left MSM, both in the US and internationally have no regard for truth. They just want to tear down the US and Israel. If a story favors the terrorists or attacks those nations, it will receive wide play. If it shows their buddies in a bad light it will, at best, be buried on an inside page in a two inch column.
- camelseye, on 05/14/2008, -1/+8You took the words right out of my mouth!
But the indisputable "newly discovered" truth is never loudly proclaimed--the original lie was planted and is growing it's bitter fruit and the perpetrators grin again.

- pitlord, on 05/13/2008, -5/+27The fact that the terrorists would be so underhanded and dishonest is not a surprise. What always surprises me is how many people will still somehow use this story to conclude that Israel is evil and the Jews are in collusion with western world powers who are trying to destroy the entire muslim world by protecting their borders.
o.o
Even that part isn't so surprising anymore, coming from left-wing, radical, libtards and Obamaphiles, the real mind blower is that these same people - who pretend to be concerned about innocent civilians accidentally caught in the middle - completely dismiss any discussion about the daily war being waged against Israel by those same "innocent" civilians.
>.>
Then they will complain about International financial aid to Israel, yet completely ignore the flood of cash sent to the "palestinians," not only by our enemies, but aid sent to "palestine" from the U.S. and Israel.
-_-
So, the fact that some "palestinian" faked his death to create bad press against Israel is not surprising. The fact that those who will bury and ignore this story are the same who constantly accuse Israel of lying, yet less than 10% of their accusations are valid. Meanwhile, 90% of the "news" reported by the "palestinians" and their Arab supporters is false or misleading, but there is such a huge volume of this false news - being fed by AlJazeera and other "State Run News" organizations in the Middle East, to mainstream outlets like the AP and Reuters - that even the professional "journalists" have been brainwashed.
o.O
Of course, with almost 2 billion members on the planet, Islam has no shortage of "reporters" to write up false news stories that help their terrorist causes.- urik88, on 05/13/2008, -0/+15Great comment pitlord. Sadly, nothing new.
- Seraphym, on 05/13/2008, -2/+12Actually, Islam has about 1.3 Billion followers.
If you actually read the Qur'an, Hadith and Sunnah and see the systematic doctrine of oppression, violence and subjugation that is preached there, and understand that, in poll after poll after poll, about 1 in 4 Muslims in the West and about 1/3 of the Muslims in the Middle East believe that the fundamentalist terrorist groups are pursuing goals directly in line with Islamic teachings, and therefore should be considered as strict adherents to their faith and have the support of the "ummah"... you might conclude that 1.3 billion believers in this warlike cult is about 400 million too many.
But, love him or hate him, G.W. Bush has surely done a lot to decrease that number. Have you helped a jihadi reach paradise today?
I'm all for Israel doing everything they can to kill each and every terrorist and their supporters. The principles of Islamic Fundamentalism have no place in the modern world, if they ever had any place at all (look up the history of Islamic wars of Jihad, and you will see a non-stop stream of endless war against any society they bordered, in the name of their "allah").
As for me, Lan Astaslem.- urik88, on 05/13/2008, -5/+8Sorry but I had to digg you down.
If you check the bible, you will also find teachings saying that it's okay to have sex with babies, to stone homosexuals...
The difference are the followers. Not the religions.
If we did follow ALL of the teachings of the bible, we would be as bad as the Muslim extremists.
It's up to the non extremist Muslims to try to stop the extremists from taking control.
Don't forget that in the days that Spain was ruled by Muslims, the Jews had respectable positions in Spain, and lived in harmony with the Muslims. Then the Christians gained control over Spain, and the Jews were expelled, and the inquisition began.
Don't forget about the millions of Muslims, Jews, and Pagans killed during the crusades.
The difference is that while the other cultures evolved and went out of the religious fundamentalism, the Islamic world didn't, or even went back in time. That's the problem. Not the religion itself.- Jeff82, on 05/14/2008, -4/+4Had to digg you down for your ill-conceived notions and interpretations of the Bible. Go back and read it again but pay close attention to the New Covenant parts. We are not bound by the old law (Old Covenant). The Old Testament reads as a history not an instructional guide. It gives meaning as to why we have the New Covenant and why the Old was superseded because Man cannot live up to it and therefore can only be saved by Grace.
- Seraphym, on 05/14/2008, -0/+2Nice try, but your equivalence is built on falsehood. You have clearly never read all or even most of these texts (I have), and you are either self-deluded with a sense of trying to conform to some sort of PC/multicultural/all-cultures-are-basically-the-same BS, or you're just dishonest. I can't say which, but I'm sure you know.
The Old Testament has various parts where the Jews were given permission to fight back against those who were, or had been, murdering and enslaving them. There is no commandment or religious edict in the Old Testament to wage war against unbelievers in the name of their faith, or to suppress and subjugate those not of their faith, or to suppress and vilify women, or to murder someone for choosing not to believe in the Jewish god... or for a whole host of other vile things in which Islam gives explicit commandment. Also, the limited licenses to violence of the Torah (Old Testament) are but a tiny fraction of those in the Qur'an, Hadith and Sunnah.
When you get to the New Testament, for Christians, there simply is no comparison. The message is clear: love thy neighbor, be steadfast in your belief that Jesus is God's son and savior sent to earth, and treat all others as you would wish to be treated, regardless of how they treat you.
Islam teaches this with regards to OTHER MUSLIMS... it is very clear about the allowances for non-Muslims, especially when there is any threat to any Muslims, their land or their power (Islam is an incredibly paranoid religion, to my eyes).
Islam requires SUBMISSION to God's will, which in the Qur'an is very capricious and whimsical, and there are rules governing practically everything. Christ invited all to follow his teachings and believe in God, and their soul would be given a place in heaven.
Also.. your argument can be disproved as a falsehood by a simple comparison.
Who is more likely to be murdering innocents, sawing off heads while chanting to their god, oppressing everyone who doesn't march in lock-step with their creed (including others who mainly have a different view), Fundamentalist Muslims or Fundamentalist Christians? If the fundamentalists truly do their best to adhere to every word (and you cannot fault the Fundamentalist Muslims out there for being impious - they are strict adherents), which group do you fear more? The Muslim one that murders a nun in Egypt for a friggin' cartoon of their 'prophet' published in Denmark, or the Christian one who prays for the soul of a killer who murdered a bunch of their children days before? Yes, both cases are straight out of major news stories.
I dare you to answer Christian... it would reveal your multicultural-addled bias for us all.
Finally... as for your understanding of the occupation of Spain by the Muslims, you are WAAAY off base. First, the Muslims, by historical accounts, killed far more people in their invasion than the Inquisition did. Second, those who they let live had to live as dhimmis... second-class citizens denied any semblance of basic rights, who had to pay a tax just to live (and that tax could be exorbitantly high) and couldn't ever advance in the society. The Inquisition was harsh, yes, because like with nearly any movement overtaken by zealots, the self-righteous Christians leading the Inquisition forsook the teachings of Christ for their own thirst of power, although their actual prosecutions versus investigations were barely 2%. But their reign of terror in the 13th century was NOTHING compared to what the Muslims brought with them in the 7th. Learn your history.

- zolthar, on 05/14/2008, -1/+8Even more sad, how the humanitarian attempts are being abused by terrorists to murder Israeli civilians.
And even more sad then that, how any time an operation like this is halted for checkup due to a successful abuse and murder of Israelis, people like you immediately whine about how Israel halts the humanitarian operations. - yonoz, on 05/14/2008, -1/+4http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7375439.stm
"In June 2007, two Palestinian women who had received medical entry permits were arrested at the Erez crossing after it was discovered they planned to blow themselves up in an Israeli hospital, Israeli authorities said.
In 2004, a female suicide bomber who claimed she had surgical plates in her legs blew herself up at the crossing after bypassing the metal detector, killing four Israelis."
