The house here is pictured intact after throngs gathered; it was not bombed. IF the phone call was real, it might be because Hamas has been sending rockets into Israeli towns daily. Hamas has been improving the range of their rockets so that they are now landing in even more heavily populated areas. Israeli residents, needless to say, do not get warning phone calls; they have about 15 seconds to take shelter, if they're lucky.

A human shield is someone you use to stop bullets, lke the IDF do. What they did is called defening their right to exist by forcing Israel to either massacre them or not destroy the home of a person as a form of punishment, without a trial. See, you're trying to make the people who are being bombed seem bad, that makes you an insane person. However, I tend to disagree. I may have understood wrong because my English isn't as good as for the Encyclopedia Britannica. But didn't Gandhi call for pacific manifestations like the thing that the Burma monks did in Thailand?
It's a whole different thing to deliberately ask your neighbors and kids to stay in the building with a caza or an apache coming there to bomb you, and calling for pacific manifestations against a kind of regime.

But If I'm right, then it wasn't using human shields. This is the definition of Human Shield according to wikipedia.

I mean, it was nice and all that the Israelis gave a warning to get the civilians out, but once that was done, the responsibility for any ensuing deaths would have been squarely on the heads of the radicals who ordered anyone up onto a missile strike site.

It also seems sort of non-typical for them to not just bomb the house anyway. It also seems unrealistic to me that the entire process of the bombing being ordered and then being canceled after people started arriving on the roof all went down in the span of the 5 minutes he was given to get himself and his children out.
