  • JohnnySoftware, on 07/24/2009, -0/+1Yeah, this is perfectly normal and is not going to change while people are using a ridiculous OS. In general programmers need to be far more rigorous than they are and use better tools to write operating systems - and applications, even.

    Today, people use bad software until something bad happens. Then, they keep using it because it iis what they are already using.

    If something goes wrong - which is what they should be expecting, without taking time to figure out the actual cause, they go blame N. Korea because NYT printed a rumor that said that.

    This is what happens when 95% of computers are run on a poorly secured OS(windows on default settings). If we had the least bit of real diversity in systems this ***** would be a lot harder to set up. Also if your craptacular computer is infected or poorly secured you're a national security risk.

    FIX YOURSELVES!
    Either secure your windows machine or get an operating system with a better track record or at least don't let poorly maintained windows systems on the Internet.

It says that one such attack included a state-sponsored invasion of the U.S. power infrastructure to implant a program that could potentially have given the intruders control of the U.S. power grid.

  • siteforbiz, on 07/10/2009, -1/+0The media is just silly! First, even if the IP's were tracked back to Korea or China, that does not necessareally mean that the attackers are from there. It could be someone from the U.S high jacking computers in Korea, that are running unpatched, unlicensed softwares, then using those as a source of the attack. I Think that the person who wrote the malware "From his basement" as quoted by "Agence France press", knows better how to hide and reroute Ip addresses.
