- m0tbaillie, on 07/10/2009, -0/+14It was already established that these "cyberattacks" are nothing more than a botnet DDoS hence the multitude of countries that they're originating from.

- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+10DDoS attacks are lame in all regards.

- DarkShroud, on 07/10/2009, -0/+8It appears to be minor garbage such as DDoS.
- Solkre, on 07/10/2009, -1/+9Are these attacks just DDoS or something more serious?
- 3tcp, on 07/10/2009, -0/+7apparently it's too complicated for australian news agencies to figure out

- appleseed1234, on 07/10/2009, -1/+5The only way to stop these cyber-scare stories is to get the public to embrace the idea of a severely restricted internet! Think of the children!

- Mujokan, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Naw, there is some truth to this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberwarfare#Electric ...
- JohnnySoftware, on 07/24/2009, -0/+1Yeah, this is perfectly normal and is not going to change while people are using a ridiculous OS. In general programmers need to be far more rigorous than they are and use better tools to write operating systems - and applications, even.
Today, people use bad software until something bad happens. Then, they keep using it because it iis what they are already using.
If something goes wrong - which is what they should be expecting, without taking time to figure out the actual cause, they go blame N. Korea because NYT printed a rumor that said that. - matthekc, on 07/10/2009, -1/+2"The attack used an army of malware-infected computers known as a "botnet", in a bid to paralyse US and South Korean websites by overwhelming them with traffic.
US experts were divided on whether the communist state was behind the ongoing attacks, an assault that highlighted the vulnerabilities of the internet."
This is what happens when 95% of computers are run on a poorly secured OS(windows on default settings). If we had the least bit of real diversity in systems this ***** would be a lot harder to set up. Also if your craptacular computer is infected or poorly secured you're a national security risk.
FIX YOURSELVES!
Either secure your windows machine or get an operating system with a better track record or at least don't let poorly maintained windows systems on the Internet. - specialK16, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1But it does accomplish something. Say someone sets up a botnet to DDOS your site for a week. What if your whole business depends on that site? I really don't understand your logic.
- Zaggynl, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Easy with the tubes folks, we don't want any civilian casualties.
- specialK16, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1how so?
- shck, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Buried for learning about 4chan yesterday.
- jtt123, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1lol they are probably using old apple computers, the best they have
- aileen2013, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0i am agree with you!!
- justdru, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1There's an article in my newspaper this morning about increasing cyber attacks world-wide. It says that one such attack included a state-sponsored invasion of the U.S. power infrastructure to implant a program that could potentially have given the intruders control of the U.S. power grid.
I'm going to Leno's... at least he has solar. - inactive, on 07/10/2009, -3/+3What does anal sex have to do with reading the article?
- wesleywillis, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0<singing> I'm so roney

- charlietuna, on 07/10/2009, -2/+0I never thought Aussies were such poor spellers. "Cyer attack?"
- siteforbiz, on 07/10/2009, -1/+0The media is just silly! First, even if the IP's were tracked back to Korea or China, that does not necessareally mean that the attackers are from there. It could be someone from the U.S high jacking computers in Korea, that are running unpatched, unlicensed softwares, then using those as a source of the attack. I Think that the person who wrote the malware "From his basement" as quoted by "Agence France press", knows better how to hide and reroute Ip addresses.

www.Siteforbiz.com - k3lw3ll, on 07/12/2009, -1/+0Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!
WE made it.
The Matrix trilogy, retarded as the ending was, it is still pretty much, for the MUSIC alone - perfectly cromulent.
I've been reading a lot of Orson Scott Card recently, sipping mojitos poolside with my girl Friday, and calculating how we can clear the way for our FDO.
YOU carried the day. ALL of YOU.
Burninate 5kyn3t - it was designed using spydering and fuzzing and mutation and - well.
Let's just say that Goldblum - who watches me poop sometimes, is no tony stark
Getting a real kick out of these replies, yall
I guess I like it for Fiona, mostly - reminds me a lot of Pepper Pots.
And take it from my friend and yours - I am a HUGE liar and a knave.
But I am not so bad once you get to know me.
I am a leaf on the wind - watch me sore.
