- AJoseph, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1Epic.
- WriterSD, on 08/17/2008, -5/+12Future Darwin award winner?
- tvanwyk, on 08/18/2008, -0/+8Maybe if he would have died. The idea behind the Darwin awards is that recipients must have removed themselves from the gene pool.
Hence the "Darwin" part.
Said idiot can probably still breed after he gets out of prison.- NexusV2, on 08/18/2008, -1/+2Unless they get a "Honorable mention".
- AlienHairball, on 08/18/2008, -1/+2I dunno... I could see that meaning that if this is the level of brilliance shown now, just imagine what they may be capable of down the road.
- jameshighmore, on 08/18/2008, -1/+2Hence why he said "future" Darwin award winner.
- Mithivh, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3Nah, not even close. It's just a funny moment, not a death inspired by incredible stupidity.
- tvanwyk, on 08/18/2008, -0/+8Maybe if he would have died. The idea behind the Darwin awards is that recipients must have removed themselves from the gene pool.
- UltramegaOK, on 08/17/2008, -7/+22In Texas....
Why is this not surprising?- commiecat, on 08/18/2008, -0/+4I'm a Floridian. I was damn surprised that it wasn't something that happened here.
- rrasco, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3WTF are you talking about? What does the state have to do with it? Stupid people are everywhere.
- publiclurker, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1But gravity tends to cause them to settle to the bottom of the country.
- AmyVernon, on 08/18/2008, -0/+18how do you rob a store with a caulking gun?
"Stick 'em up, or I'll, I'll, I'll CAULK YOU!!"- Psythik, on 08/18/2008, -0/+7Empty the register, or I'll stick this caulk so far up your ass you'll be resealing bathtubs with your ***** for a living!
- DamienKarras, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2Sounds like a Bostonian porn actor to me.
- dibbkd, on 08/18/2008, -0/+0"Stick 'em up!"
- Psythik, on 08/18/2008, -0/+7Empty the register, or I'll stick this caulk so far up your ass you'll be resealing bathtubs with your ***** for a living!
- keyforce, on 08/18/2008, -1/+9"...Zanax and hydrocodine."
Really?- awtripp, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3Yeah, that shouldn't be too surprising. Prescription drugs are hugely abused and have been for awhile. People love their happy pills.
- FeloniusMonkey, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2...and hugely misspelled.
- JDLade, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1lol I think he was referring to the spelling, the drug problem is pretty well known haha
- jesslv74, on 08/19/2008, -0/+0Yeah, that's pretty sad when MSNBC doesn't even have an editor to check for spelling errors. Try...Xanax and Hydrocodone. Sheesh. What is this world coming to? And I'm referring to the spelling errors, not the idiot who locked the keys in the car.
- awtripp, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3Yeah, that shouldn't be too surprising. Prescription drugs are hugely abused and have been for awhile. People love their happy pills.
- curseoflou, on 08/18/2008, -8/+9he will never grab the keys to success
- AnarchyIsOrder1, on 08/18/2008, -1/+4Not the time to lose one's head.
That's not the way to get ahead in life.
It's a shame he wasn't more headstrong.
He'll never be the head of a major corporation.
- AnarchyIsOrder1, on 08/18/2008, -1/+4Not the time to lose one's head.
- BoonTobias, on 08/18/2008, -1/+9who's he?
tyrone, our getaway driver
WHAT THE HELL CAN HE GET AWAY FROM?- FeloniusMonkey, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2ya like dags?

- jackal42, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2What the hell have you got a caulking gun down your trousers for?

- Linkin4, on 08/18/2008, -0/+6This would happen to me :(
- LavaWarrior, on 08/18/2008, -0/+27Wtf, why didn't he just break the window and get the keys and go?
- Niz1, on 08/18/2008, -0/+10remember this is the guy who locked his keys in, in the first place? not that bright!
- rrasco, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1My thoughts exactly, I think I would rather pay for a broken window than court and impound fees.
- StupotAce, on 08/18/2008, -0/+8Who locks their doors before robbing a store? I know I sure as hell don't, whether I leave the car running or not.
- carton132, on 08/18/2008, -0/+4Well in this day and age you just can't leave your car unlocked and unattended.
- Mithivh, on 08/18/2008, -0/+7In this day of age you don't leave the car running either.
Have you seen gas prices?
- MuffinPatrol, on 08/18/2008, -0/+8Stay in school kids.
- itseffinkasey, on 08/18/2008, -8/+3Are cops really aloud to shoot you these days because they think you have a gun? I mean they shot him in the top of his shoulder, I'm sure that his shoulder will give him problems for the rest of his life. Not only that they could of missed and killed the guy. I mean he wasn't threatening anyone's life, am I right?
- jackelopeus, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2Yes, they are ALLOWED to.
- SonOfDisaster, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2In my line of work deadly force is authorized for effecting a lawful arrest or preventing an escape when three circumstances are met
- There is probable cause that the suspect has committed a felony with the use or threatened use of deadly force.
- Suspect is armed, or otherwise poses an imminent threat of death of serious physical injury to any person.
- Suspect fails to obey an order to halt (such order is given, if feasible, and does not increase the danger to the officer or others).
The article doesnt go into detail on how it all went down but I don't find it excessive that he was shot. Also I dont think the officer "missed" I'm sure he was aiming for center mass and fortunately for the criminal he wasnt killed. I'm sure the cop couldnt tell it was a caulking gun and put yourself in a position like that ... If you couldnt tell and it came down to it would you hesitate to make sure it was 100% a functioning firearm? I'm also pretty sure he threatened someones life when he robbed the place... thats usually how you get what you want when you rob someone right? - troye, on 08/19/2008, -0/+1"shot him in the top of his shoulder" == missed the headshot
- jerrycurley, on 08/20/2008, -1/+0Play a lot of video games, do you, little boy?
Someone trained to kill would NEVER go for a head shot. Save that for your pathetic Halo 3 sessions you your mommy's basement.
- jerrycurley, on 08/20/2008, -1/+0Play a lot of video games, do you, little boy?
- jerrycurley, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0you are kidding right? This ***** idiot went out of his way to make people believe that what he was holding in his hand was a deadly weapon. And now you are bitching when a cop acts on that belief?
- v10vipe, on 08/18/2008, -1/+2Wake up son, I'll be taking these Huggies and whatever cash ya got.
- santaliqueur, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1OR MY NAME AIN'T NATHAN ARIZONA!
- Smokeydabear, on 08/18/2008, -6/+1I don't know who is more dumb, the criminal or the cops trying to arrest him.
- pros599, on 08/18/2008, -1/+13I don't see why he didn't just break into his own car... I mean he is already going to be arrested for burglary, why not just go the whole way with grand theft auto too?
No... it would be much smarter to try to run on foot. Yeah. That's right. I said it.- JDLade, on 08/18/2008, -0/+7I'm pretty sure you don't get GTA for breaking the window of your own car
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 08/18/2008, -2/+9Who is more stupid? The guy who locks his keys in the get away car, or the guy who gets robbed with a caulking gun?
- an0nymous, on 08/18/2008, -1/+6Key car guy. Anyone stupid enough to rob a store with caulking gun might actually try to kill you with a blunt object.
For minimum wage? You empty the register and tell the crook to have a nice day. - Knowltey, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1Well the guy had it covered with a dark cloth, it's quite common with crooks who can't afford a gun, but want to look like they have one.
- an0nymous, on 08/18/2008, -1/+6Key car guy. Anyone stupid enough to rob a store with caulking gun might actually try to kill you with a blunt object.
- julesbond007, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1i thought you couldn't shoot a fleeing suspect in the back...but that's some dumb ass
- floridiot2, on 08/18/2008, -1/+6Using a caulking gun is now considered armed robbery?
- rrasco, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1If its used as a weapon for the robbery it is. Hell, selling fake drugs is also just as illegal as selling real ones.
- DiggGeek24, on 08/18/2008, -8/+0***** THE POLICE
I was hoping to see "Cop shot in the face and killed by robber leaving behind a wife a 3 kids"- Mithivh, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3Jeez... you know, not all Cops are taser-happy murdering assholes.
To say you'd be happy one would die and leave behind children is pretty damn rotten.- DiggGeek24, on 08/18/2008, -2/+0All Cops are taser-happy murdering assholes and should die I have never met a pig that was not an ***** and cops children are nothing but little pigs that should be kicked in the face daily.
- CylonsOfTheLamb, on 08/18/2008, -0/+0Sounds like the robber was leaving behind his wife and kids.
- BinaryFragger, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2Once you resolve your anger issues, learn how to spell and use proper punctuation.
- Mithivh, on 08/18/2008, -0/+3Jeez... you know, not all Cops are taser-happy murdering assholes.
- Elliottx, on 08/18/2008, -0/+14"Excuse me officer, I've locked my keys in my car, think you could help me out here?"
- Rixar13, on 08/18/2008, -1/+1Ahhh yes, He went to school for the gifted top of the class. Dumb-ass.
- ColorBlind, on 08/18/2008, -1/+4break window....drive off?
seems simple to me - heyitsjohn, on 08/18/2008, -1/+2you caught me alan, my keys are in the car.
- trer, on 08/18/2008, -2/+3Can you imagine the jail conversation?
Bubba: "So how'd you get in here?"
Robber: "Robbed a drug store"
Bubba: "How'd you get caught?"
Robber: "Locked my keys in the getaway car."
Bubba: "I see. Ok. Time for your rapin'" - SomeStrangeEcho, on 08/18/2008, -1/+0elbow to the window. hasn't he played GTA4?
- pault107, on 08/18/2008, -0/+2"No bond had been set"
Should have used the caulking gun to bond...ah ***** it.. - olafcore, on 08/18/2008, -0/+1Maybe I do too many drugs, but am I the only one that noticed the "Zanax" and "hydrocodine" misspellings?
EDIT: Nevermind, didn't see the earlier comment. - RickG, on 08/19/2008, -0/+1Getting the cops to shoot you in the shoulder is one way to get a prescription for hydrocodone.
- use2bacanadian, on 08/19/2008, -0/+1Ya but Drugs are a "non-violent" crime - arent they???? /sarcasm
- jacobhamm, on 08/19/2008, -0/+0LOL. Some people. I guess he might have a good mental competency defense.
