Colo. School Attack 'Sexual in Nature'
breitbart.com — The gunman who took six girls hostage in a high school classroom, killing one, had sexually assaulted at least some of them, the sheriff said Thursday. "He did traumatize and assault our children," Park County Sheriff Fred Wegener said. "I'll only say that it's sexual in nature."

- chris9902, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6so what video game do we blame this on?
I say tetris... damn you tetris.
- JC4P, on 10/12/2007, -16/+7This is why we need more sex in video games. There is no scapegoat the congress can use to blame the attack on video games now!
- thelastknowngod, on 10/12/2007, -15/+2not that this isnt a messed up story but... so what? i can turn on the 5o'clock news any night of the week and hear stuff like this going on all the time. how does this hit the front page?
- rlh68, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This is not a regular event in the news I watch and read.
- rlh68, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Not to take anything away from this as it is a horrible tragedy.
However, the same day I saw news blurbs on this I also saw that Rockstar video games and violence in video games was once again under attack. The impression I got was; before people even knew what happened they assumed that it was a student that did this and it was caused by video games. I just find it intresting that the initial assumption was that video games were to blame before people even knew what really happened. - EmperorPsiblade, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is really ***** up...
Taking high school kids hostage, then sexually assaulting them and killing one of them...
I can't even begin to understand his motivations toward doing this...- schroeder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Ummm, someone should try to understand it so they can keep it from happening again.
- cakestick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"My condolences to Emily Post's family and friends."
Emily who?
- fufubag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Hopefully they never release this "person's" name. He deserves to be dead in anonymity, not that it matters. If you just imagine yourself in the girls' places.... it makes me want to have this guy alive so i could torture him. I don't even have kids, so I can only imagine the anger (yes, among other emotions as well) that this girls father must be feeling.
- patience, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Even a death penalty opponent like me thinks an exception would have to me made for this guy if he was alive...how depraved....Even Bin Laden is probably grossed out
- dungbeetle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Too bad he isn't still alive to suffer for the rest of his life in prison. Anyone who would do something like this to a youth deserves the worst punishment imaginable.
- mywindow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7The sick f*^k was 55yo and lived in his car. This has Nothing to do with video games!
As a native of Colorado I can say this has allot to do with a cowboy mentality and the heavy handed tactics of Jefferson Counties criminal system. Jefferson County has a long history of getting every penny out of it citizens and ruthlessly tracking and harassing offenders. This crazy old man was in the system for along time and the county failed to recognize the problem despite their god like control. With a police force and training second to none and Columbine in the not so distant past their is no excuse for this incompetence.
As too the sexual nature of this crime their could be a number of factors behind this? Not enough breastmilk as a kid, Scorned lover in high school? Who knows? & Who cares? Wrong is wrong! After survival the strongest human drive is procreation. Is it any wonder that in a relative safe society of plenty that sex is a huge part of humanity after puberty?
As most I hope the family of the slain and her twin brother find the strength to overcome this tragic loss. I also hope society does not over react and try to make our schools even "safer" by making are children feel like prisoners instead of focused students of life. - benitojuarez, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4In other news jack thompson has found that the perpetrator owns a copy of the sims 2 ™.
Subsequently he has filed a lawsuit against EA/Maxis for creating a game that simulates child molestation. - GodsHand, on 10/12/2007, -14/+3I heard he got his fingers stinky.
- Cyclone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You, sir, are the lowest of the lows.
- shotzky, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3A man walks into a high school, sexually molests young children at gunpoint, kills a 16 year old girl, and the first thing on most people's minds here is "omg, will this be used to take away my rights to play violent video games?!?!?!". Grow up, get some perspective in what's really important in life.
- rlh68, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Video games were not the first thing on my mind when I head of this. I got chills thinking of the kids that had to live through this and remorse for the girl that died.
However, it's not about anyones rights to play video games. The posts that refer to video games are meant to highlight that some people will use this as an excuse to attack something that is not the problem and in doing so they will sidestep the real problem. Is it not ok to discuss this? Are we to just ignore these issues and simple be sad for those involved and wait for it to happen again because we can't discuss it and get to the real problem without offending some?

- lburgguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He is now in hell.
- Beanlover, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wish those people who kill others and end with killing themselves would just start with themselves instead.
