Clerics in India Dismiss Quran Ringtones
sfgate.com — Muslim clerics at a leading seminary in India have asked people to refrain from using verses from the Quran as ringtones for their mobile phones, saying the practice was un-Islamic. Quran verses "are not meant for entertainment," an official at the Dar-ul Uloom seminary said, "Anyone who persists in using these should be ostracized from society."

How about Qur'an verses being used to incite acts of violence? I think anyone who persists in using these should be ostracized from society, but it seems that there are as many Muslim clerics doing just that as ever.- dy01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bury this
