/facepalm - inactive, on 05/08/2009, -22/+591***** wack jobs!! It's sometimes hard for me to believe that things like this actually go on.
- whatthef0911, on 05/09/2009, -17/+409This is CULT behavior, trying to control every aspect of members lives. They should move the high school to a compound in Waco.
Going to high school shouldn't be like joining a cult.
They are only preparing students to join other cults after they leave their high school cult. - noahgelman, on 05/09/2009, -8/+351Where is Kevin Bacon when you need him?
- geoboy, on 05/09/2009, -9/+348I think strict-ass, ***** retarded rules are what implant seeds of rebellion in young people's minds. Hmmmm... be a slave to a religious cult, or live your life in freedom? Quite the tough choice, there.
- scy1192, on 05/09/2009, -2/+235even Jesus was a rebel
- JoeHague, on 05/09/2009, -22/+245Yea this is ***** up........whats more ***** up is the 83 other kids who are never gonna do anything with their lives besides follow this *****- then when they die they're gonna realize they wasted their existence.
- inactive, on 05/09/2009, -6/+199When they die, they probably won't realize anything.
- dthardcore, on 05/09/2009, -13/+190So Digg should do what it is good at.... Harass the school until they give in.

- tsaweb, on 05/09/2009, -14/+163I go to school in Waco, a private, baptist school.
Let me be the first to tell you that not all Baptists are like this, only a very small fraction of Baptists believe that dancing "plants a seed of rebellion" (and most of them are over the age of 80, or from this Ohio school). Things like this create more work for me to do in convincing non-believers that Christians aren't fundamentalist/right wing/radical jerks.
So, on behalf of all Christianity(followers of Christ), I apologize for people like this. - Chestnutridge, on 05/09/2009, -0/+134 The handbook got it right! For better or worse, rock IS intended to "impart" a spirit of rebellion. If it doesn't, it ain't any good!
- MidasMouse, on 05/09/2009, -5/+108This is so messed up!! The principal was my soccer coach 12 years ago when I was in HS (different school, similar rules). So crazy to see him on yahoo.com. My thoughts- the kid did sign the agreement, but the rules apply to the school, not what he does after hours.
- DairyCreamer, on 05/08/2009, -20/+121Expelled for getting it on at prom?
- imikedaman, on 05/09/2009, -3/+103I'm sure his parents have absolutely nothing to do with the decision.
- erhanaltay, on 05/09/2009, -13/+113Oh believe it. Fundamentalist Christianity is growing in the United States and it poses a far greater danger than radical Islam since it is already right on top of us.
- dlm85, on 05/08/2009, -10/+109Anyone want to guess the nickname of school where the prom is? The Trojans.
- borez, on 05/09/2009, -6/+103"He knew what he was getting into when he decided to attend a private school"
Don't you mean: He knew what he was being forced into when his parents made him attend this private school. - kentifer, on 05/09/2009, -5/+99How can a school enforce control over a pupil's private life?
- Nichiren, on 05/09/2009, -1/+94+5 Insightful
- DubYaSee, on 05/09/2009, -7/+99Know why Baptists never ***** standin' up?
They're 'fraid it'll lead to DANCIN' ! - inactive, on 05/09/2009, -3/+93No. Expelled for robbing a bank at a prom. You'd know that if you read the article.
- andrexx, on 05/09/2009, -5/+92"In life, we constantly make decisions whether we are going to please self or please God. (Frost) chose one path, and the school committee chose the other," England said.
Are you kidding me!? Yes...God will be soooo displeased that he's dancing and heaven forbid (literally?) that he's ENJOYING his life, while the other 83 helpless souls live their empty, hollow lives. - metrenome, on 05/09/2009, -1/+87Blind Greek physicians do make a compelling argument.
- inactive, on 05/09/2009, -3/+88"The handbook for the 84-student Christian school"
Also known as: "How To Break Your Child." - CaptainPanda, on 05/09/2009, -8/+90But you will go to hell for eternity if you do that! God doesn't want people to be happy, you silly goose.
- Trublmakr, on 05/09/2009, -7/+87God forbid young people get rebellious,.. I mean they might even begin questioning he utter ***** we (the church) proliferate. Thank which ever god you want young people are rebellious - we need a rebellion every once in a while,.. unless of course you think everything's already perfect.
- Cfahooligan, on 05/09/2009, -2/+79I thought Footloose was only a movie?
- dgcarbs, on 05/09/2009, -1/+69its a private school, because he voluntarily went there they can do whatever the ***** they want.
I know because I went to a catholic school who chose to "randomly" drug test students that the administration didn't like. - TheFinaleofSeem, on 05/09/2009, -8/+73"Fundamentalist Baptist school" should be all you need to realize that this is a school run by *****.
You know why Baptists frown on fornication? Because it might lead to dancing. - perpafactor, on 05/09/2009, -5/+68His word? Who made him become Christian? His parents. Who forced him to go to some crazy fundie school? His parents. Who gets to make the decisions on what he wears, hears, watches, reads, behaves, thinks etc? His parents/"school"/religion.
And the one decision HE makes, they make him feel like he's going to hell for going to the porm with a girl. Thanks mom & dad. - CamperBob, on 05/09/2009, -3/+65"Okay, while the thought of these types of Christians gaining in numbers is frightening, calling them a greater danger than Islam extremists is hyperbole to the nth degree."
Really? Because I don't see Islamic extremists trying to infiltrate my local public school board, encode bigotry into marriage law, dictate the course of medical research, or do any of a hundred other things to subvert equal protection and democracy in the United States. Everywhere I see religion overstepping its bounds to exert control over nonparticipants, it's being done in the name of Christian dominionism. - dlm85, on 05/08/2009, -16/+78This is not surprising considering how whacked out that area of Ohio is.
- homeyp1221, on 05/09/2009, -13/+73WWJD? Probably turn the punch into wine and try to hook up with some chick under the bleachers.
- inactive, on 05/09/2009, -3/+63It IS cult behavior. It's brainwashing, spirit breaking and social conditioning.
- directedition, on 05/09/2009, -3/+61them Beatles be corruptin' our kids!
- inactive, on 05/09/2009, -18/+74lol, America is funny.
- Maxman92, on 05/09/2009, -2/+58Without the seeds of rebellion, we'd still be British colonies right now...
- BloodnThunder, on 05/09/2009, -4/+58What the ***** is this? 4Chan?
- Zarokima, on 05/09/2009, -1/+55No, but it doesn't really matter.

Findlay, OH 45840 - borez, on 05/09/2009, -1/+53Better then the seeds of conformity, shallow mindedness and anti-individualism.
- dark1587, on 05/09/2009, -0/+52They want ratings, technically. What better way to get ratings other than by covering the latest uproar in town?
- ashes0, on 05/09/2009, -18/+69I go to a Christian School and we have a prom.
We allow relationships in the school and stuff, but highly discourage kissing, excessive hugging (and by that I mean grabbing ect. We hug all the time)
This isn't a christian thing so don't be retarded. Just some stupid school. - JRowe3388, on 05/09/2009, -1/+51Imagine if The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" was "Sure, Let's Give It Another Go".
- detcade, on 05/09/2009, -1/+50Look at all those bible quotes in their defense
"The question as I see it is, should a Christian place themselves at an event where young ladies will have low cut dresses and be dancing in them?"
OH GOD RUN - SSPink, on 05/09/2009, -2/+51Seriously, ***** these people and ***** the parents that treat their kids like this. Just because you've decided to deny yourself any joy out of life doesn't mean you have to destroy the happiness of children, you bitter, soulless, horror of a human being. Children are meant to be children, to explore life and find their own joy in it, and you've demanded that they not be children, that they be good little automata who never act out of turn in any way. They teach children that to act as children is evil and in doing so crush their self confidence and creativity, it takes people years to recover from this kind of abuse, if indeed they are ever able to recover.
"In life, we constantly make decisions whether we are going to please self or please God." These are the words of a crazy person. A person who's sense of either self importance or paranoia is so out of line with reality that they actually believe that the all powerful creator of the universe gets greatly angered when it sees people enjoying themselves in any way. If your "God" is such a horrible oppressive *****, I think the rest of us will do just fine without it. - Ninh, on 05/09/2009, -12/+58The joys of religio-fascism.
- BabyWookie, on 05/09/2009, -1/+45Having lived in the USSR, it always amazes me how alike the American fundie xians and the hard-line Soviet commies of the past sound on many issues - banning "teh gays", suggestive clothing, unconventional hairdos, rock music, etc. In the 60's, the Party apparatchiks were saying exactly the same ***** about The Beatles as the fundie megapastors were - how this music is corrupting the youth, promoting sex (OMG!), etc. Then, in the 70's, the Party made a big deal about banning KISS. Of course, the kids were writing "KISS" on every building wall after that. LOL.
