- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+83And in response China will be turning off their internet in 10, 9, 8...
- hazri, on 08/27/2008, -2/+57"Mr Yang had acted out of "revenge" after he was caught by police riding an unlicensed bicycle" WTF?
- Soldier1stClass, on 08/27/2008, -2/+52He killed 6 policemen with a Molotov and a knife while rushing into a station... I know it sounds horrible but all I can imagine is some action sequence with Jet Li doing the same thing.
- TheThirdLevel, on 08/27/2008, -1/+38While I don't exactly like cops, I wouldn't advocate going on a killing spree.
Meanwhile, the Internet will take a long nap for China. - jehan60188, on 08/27/2008, -3/+37he'll probably get killed in jail before his trial even starts. then there will be a coup d'etat, and a new world order will rise in china. from there, a benevolent leader will rule, until he fears that his power (the power to do good, that is) is at stake, at which point, he will begin imposing more/strict laws, until one day the police beat up some good samaritan, who goes nuts, and kills a bunch of them. but that samaritan will probably get killed before his trial even starts...
- da_bradler, on 08/27/2008, -2/+34how fair is a US trail when a 6 police officers have been killed?
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -1/+32if you read the article it said the police beat him and maimed him. So what would you do if a bunch of police pull you over for a speeding ticket and 2 or 3 of them get out the car and beat the hell out of you? call your lawyer? lol in china? they will beat the lawyer too...
He could easily get out of jail in the United States for some sort of insanity plea. - MikeWazowski, on 08/27/2008, -2/+32How fair will his trail be? Will he even have one?
- mtrip, on 08/27/2008, -0/+25He went ***** Oldboy on their asses.
- Ljay90, on 08/27/2008, -1/+24You don't get a trial.
You get murdered while in custody.

Mr Yang crashes through the front of the police station on his bicycle and proceeds to tear sh*t up. - poidh, on 08/27/2008, -5/+26He should kill the party officials, not the police.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+20Party officials aren't the ones who beat the crap out of him for riding an unlicensed bicycle.
- curtisag, on 08/27/2008, -2/+22If our Government oppressed American citizens the way the Chinese Government oppresses their citizens, there would be all out civil war and any cop that stood in the way would likely die. Human beings are treated like cattle or worse in China. The fact that a cop killer is regarded as a hero to many means there is a strong undercurrent of discontent that will eventually boil to the surface.
- Daedalus81, on 08/27/2008, -0/+18Don't be so sure about that. Its a slow build-up and by the time we get there people won't even notice or care. Americans are not some special breed of human.
- crazy0, on 08/27/2008, -2/+20how about when 6 officers kill a civilian?
***** THE POLICE - Fallout911, on 08/27/2008, -2/+19Actually if you liked NWA you are probably in the 26-30 year old bracket.
- Celios, on 08/27/2008, -0/+16Luckily he's in China, so he could've just applied for a protest permit which would've gotten him sentenced to two years of re-education through labor. owait...
- ParanoydAndroid, on 08/27/2008, -0/+16... and then beaten and maimed, all while still oppressed by a social system that eliminated his chances to recover after he became unemployed.
The second part is probably provided more impetues than the whole, "unlicensed bike" thing. - Smurph0404, on 08/27/2008, -2/+17I'm all for protesting the brutality of the state, but when you protest brutality with mass murder I think you're taking one step forward, two steps back.
- SteelChicken, on 08/27/2008, -0/+14read the article dummy
Yang rides unlicensed bicycle
Cops arrest him, beat him and abuse him (ZOMG unlicensed bicycle riderz!!!)
Yang gets released, but oh no, hes not done
He comes back with molotov cocktails and knives and kills 6 cops
Its like the Chinese version of Falling Down. Sort of. - ParanoydAndroid, on 08/27/2008, -0/+14More like SIX steps forward! Amirite guys? ... guys?

You'll forgive me if I'm less than sympathetic... - vtnerd, on 08/27/2008, -1/+14RATM had some pretty choice words too.
- Protonz, on 08/27/2008, -1/+13According to the party officials, yes, killing IS the answer.
It is wrong to initiate force on another. It is not wrong to fight back. - hcharger, on 08/27/2008, -1/+12 Even though I'm not an avid cop lover, I can honestly see such an act of brutality happening here in Canada and the USA. In fact we already had 4 mounties killed by James Rosco near Mayerthorpe Alberta a while back. Cops seem more interested in protecting the rich and serving and protecting their own interest as in money.
They enforce laws that are initiated by a corrupt system that has no conscience of screwing the common working Joe trying to make a living and support his family. Fines have doubled and tripled here in Alberta for mediocre things such as failing to come to a complete stop, failing to signal at a controlled intersection and a host of others. Photo radar is legal in this province and is definitely a cash cow, not a deterant for accidents because most times its hidden until too late and seldom in accident related area's.
I used to a few decades ago buy drugs off cops and hot car parts off others. They have power over anyone they wish and their word in a court of law is generally taken as true when in fact they are the greatest liars around. They seldom ever go to prison and most times they are aquitted from offences that common people would do years for.
No wonder they are hated everywhere. If they did their job as public protectors, then that would more than compensate for us paying high costs for protection, but when we pay taxes to support them enforcing entrapment laws then that gets me feeling just like James Rosco and another thing, one would really be concerned if they knew exactly how many James Rosco's were out there, just a time bomb waiting to go off, yet cops still push their authority to the breaking point.
One day there will be a cop massacre and that will be the beginning. The next coming depression will prove that in a heartbeat. - AbsurdParadox, on 08/27/2008, -3/+12***** THE PORICE!
- FonzsXe, on 08/27/2008, -1/+10cuz you might be retarded
- takua108, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9Did you first two commenters just both say "trail?" Really?
- WillyWonka, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9While I'm surprised a cop actually ticketed a bike rider (Normally they just stick to cars), he really should have been on the road being on a vehicle and all.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8You are an idiot. Don't pull statistics out of your ass.
- NiMip, on 08/27/2008, -1/+9The way China treats its citizens makes me furious. It really is disgusting the way they just do whatever the hell they like.
While I don't want to support violent retaliation from the public, I don't feel particularly sympathetic towards the police department. - whoreable, on 08/27/2008, -18/+26NWA said it best - "***** THE POLICE!"
- ISIfunded911, on 08/27/2008, -1/+8He did the right thing. Someone else will kill the party officials later. So many Chinese are very angry at the powers that be. They kept quiet during the Olympics, but now everything can happen.
- AbsurdParadox, on 08/27/2008, -2/+9A couple o' thoughts that might change your outlook on the police.
1. All laws are threats of murder.
All laws result in fines or arrest if you break them. Not paying the fines also leads to arrest. Resisting arrest leads to death, if you're good enough at it. I should note that there is a huge difference between real crimes (hurting people) that certainly deserve some sort of punishment/restitution and breaking the law (often victimless or morally just).
2. Most people's interactions with the police are negative, not positive. Compare how many times you've been pulled over to how many times an officer has helped you. - RabidAngel, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7RTFA
- Skurt, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Seems some of you missed this;
His father, Yang Fu, said his son must "have been greatly wronged" and added that he hoped Mr Yang's almost inevitable death sentence would help spur the Chinese legal system to change in the future.
His Father is hardcore, he knows his kid is gonna die for this, but hopes it will change things for the better.
/and yes, every comment has a bouncing comment box :| - sooska, on 08/27/2008, -1/+7Digg me down if you wish, but I actually have to hand it to the police for their self control...they took the guy alive! If that happened in the US, there would not be enough of him left to scrape off the floor for a DNA test.
- Bhatch514, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Robocop!
I'd by that for a dollar! - notalemming, on 08/27/2008, -1/+7A Police man is the police once he wears the uniform, putting it on they know the risks, if the police start a war or become police state and they don't quit.. well then ***** 'em
Yang Jia = Hero - ZeeZee2k, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6All you gotta do is go home, and take a nap.
- nomadxx7, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6FAIL.
Was you friend then beaten by the cops? Did he lose his source of income while he recovered from the beating? It's not the same as this guy. I was pulled over because I was speeding yet it doesn't hold a candle to being ticketed for an illegal bike, beaten, maimed, denied a review of my case, etc. - AbsurdParadox, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6All governments treat their citizens poorly. Some just have better PR departments.
- ographer, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5That is so badass. Chuck Norris approved.
- da_bradler, on 08/27/2008, -2/+7I know pulling ***** like that will likely get you 4 stars at the least and there is no way your lawyer girlfriend will bail you out of that.
- RMD78, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4"Show me..."
- Skooma714, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4The police are mainly there to generate revenue and to protect and serve...the government, mainly from you.
- Skooma714, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4I've heard from an actual NYPD detective the corruption rate in his opinion was 80%.
- bigcynic, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4Not surprising, considering that cops in China aren't so much cops as retrievers for the state's execution machine.
"I am for Sulu." - ISIfunded911, on 08/27/2008, -1/+5If every citizen in every country acted this way every time, there would be no tyrannical government, no corruption.
He is my hero! -
