- chungmaster, on 03/31/2009, -1/+18uh...surprise? What country is gonna admit to illegal activity......? And plus is it even a surprise the countries are doing this?
- LonelyTylenoL, on 03/31/2009, -4/+19That yellow pointy hat was the only thing that attracted me to this article.
PURE awesome. - avianna, on 03/31/2009, -1/+11You know, for a April fools' day joke, the Chinese government should just say, "yup, you caught us, that was us... we are watching everything..."
That'd be worthy of a digg submission... this... not so much. - inactive, on 03/31/2009, -0/+9We can neither confirm nor deny....

Do you seriously believe that script kiddies are sole responsible for all hacking in these countries?
Beside, computer systems that were attacked are not just some average guys' computers, they are goverments' systems. I'm pretty sure that most of them have a proper defense against "botnets use very basic code, which the kids probably didn't write". In order to attack this many goverments' systems simultaneously, it would need more than already available pre-made scripts.

"ministries of foreign affairs of Iran, Bangladesh, Latvia, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Barbados and Bhutan appear to had been targeted.
Hacked systems were also discovered in the embassies of countries including India, South Korea, Indonesia, Romania, Cyprus, Thailand, Germany and Pakistan." - shinkou, on 03/31/2009, -0/+8I thought cyber-spying is practiced in most of the developed countries, regardless of whether they do it for good or bad. We just cannot prevent this kinda things from happening unless we all come up with a total consensus and absolute equality.
- huangweiqiu, on 03/31/2009, -1/+8Can we trust war-rage America gov.?
- one1plus1one, on 03/31/2009, -21/+28I believe whatever the Chinese Government would like me to believe.
If they say they are innocent and not spying, who am I to think otherwise.
In fact, I believe all people of all nations should obey the will and wisdom of the government of China. They know what is best for me, and all cultures on Earth. - rawnzilla, on 03/31/2009, -1/+6There is a mole inside CTU!
- hillkiwi, on 03/31/2009, -1/+5@Auzy
Ha ha - I'm pretty sure I won the internet contest, you couldn't even get a link right. Don't quit your day job, or should I say don't go into computers when you grow up (or politics - I suspect you won't succeed there either). - suzanek, on 03/31/2009, -3/+7Can we trust china?
- hillkiwi, on 03/31/2009, -1/+5If you want to have a pissing contest about computer knowledge bring it on kid.
I was referring to the massive Chinese espionage campaign world wide. Here's what they're doing in my country, I suggest you read up on yours.

Try not sounding like such a dick in your future posts. - CyberStriker, on 03/31/2009, -5/+9Apparently, the people digging you down don't understand sarcasm.
- Zekarus, on 03/31/2009, -0/+4Holy ***** ***** for linking to Wiki-*****-pedia article for your 1337 Internet debate.
Sorry, Chief, but I don't see you on the Wiki articles anywhere. I'm afraid I must doubt your existence. - canchin, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3Yes, now Chinese teenagers in neighborhood Internet Cafes can do the same thing the American government and various American "agencies" have been able to do and have been doing for years.
Be afraid America, be very afraid.
The Contrived News(?) Network strikes again.
Buried because I never believe anything on the Contrived News(?) Network. - ortucis, on 03/31/2009, -1/+4So is Pakistan's, you wanna trust them as well?
- ryanonfire, on 03/31/2009, -2/+4The original article talked about how even though the computers were in China it was entirely possible that it could be the CIA or any other spy agency for that matter. It's a pretty smart idea, framing a country for espionage.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 03/31/2009, -0/+2Um... we're not idiots.
Read the Article: This report came out by a Canadian NGO, not the Dalai Lama. Frankly most people don't really care who the Chinese government wants to use as a scapegoat be it the Falun Gong, the Dalai Lama, Taiwan, Ughurs, or what-have-you.
Instead most of us are just calling you and the other China-apologists out because the propaganda you and the Chinese government are spewing is just downright condescending and taking us for retards. Come up with a better lie that is more believable than, "The Canadian NGO's are Dalai Lama's people and they're liars, we don't spy on the world at all!". - huangweiqiu, on 03/31/2009, -3/+5Dalai Lama was lying again,my god! when will this old guy say something of truth about China ,expcially for Tibet.
- Sil369, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1thats a weird site
- inactive, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Especially the ones that imply or say that they don't.
- hillkiwi, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Not everyone on the internet is in your country.
- Swivelstick, on 03/31/2009, -4/+5Going by that logic all countries should expel ambassadors of all other nations.
- whoartnow, on 04/01/2009, -0/+1Dugg for the hat
- orsinoduke, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1only hacked 1000 computers? ....strange
- ozziedog, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1I don't believe China had any interest in spying on those computers nor do I believe that this is an act of shameless self promotion
http://www.doritosguru.ca/martin/chipacabra - geekee, on 03/31/2009, -2/+3All your computer are belong to us!
- sanskrtam, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1Then how come there is a non-CCP guy in the ministry?

If it's symbolism, then he will never be active in the government. - duckyinc, on 03/31/2009, -1/+2Apparently his point sucks.
- marklestrange, on 03/31/2009, -1/+2My guess is that this is not newly discovered, just newly revealed - for political ends of course.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 03/31/2009, -0/+1Read the article!
"One report was issued by the University of Toronto's Munk Center for International Studies in conjunction with the Ottawa, Canada-based think tank The SecDev Group; the second came from the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory."
1) University of Toronto Munk Center for International Studies - Yes these guys publish articles on China
2) The SecDev Group - Yes these guys do security
2) University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory - Self explanatory. - inactive, on 03/31/2009, -4/+5no.. you definitely cannot trust China..
- vipertech, on 03/31/2009, -3/+4Free Tibet eh?
I'll take it!
*calls china* Hello! I have something you might want... that's right... all the tea. - huangweiqiu, on 03/31/2009, -3/+3e.g Dalai Lama ever said China ever killed 1.2 million Tibetan, hha hha,but the population even was not up to 900 thousonds in fact when Dalai Lama fled to Idina on 1959,where did 1.2 million population come from? Do you think this old political-monk can be trust?
- ShrimpCrackers, on 03/31/2009, -1/+1Actually the 8 minor parties are tributary, they're there for symbolism at best.
- sanskrtam, on 03/31/2009, -3/+3Yes because the Chinese influence is so deep in the West.
- rizzono, on 07/17/2009, -0/+0We need to boycott everything China and in a major way.
The Chinese love to claim that America is "friends" but treats all Americans like spys in China even though no Americans work in any sensitive positions in China, Chinese nationalists are actively promoting their agenda to boycott American imports, sending their spys over to steal everything technological from our universities and corporations, always accuses foreign news of bias and lies, they think they can be a world power but act like little spoiled brats at even the slightest hint of criticism, they only use Americans for what we can give them and then try to slam the door in our face. This is not to all Chinese but to the ones that promote this way and have this mindset.
Don't lay down Americans , Don't get rid of the nukes America ,support America to the end, buy America, Boycott chinese goods, if that country gets its way it will be a terrible thing. - AbelZhu, on 03/31/2009, -1/+1Did you forget that we have an entire agency devoted to this?
Ever heard of the NSA? - ShrimpCrackers, on 03/31/2009, -1/+1The source isn't the CNN. Read the original reports by the Canadian University researchers as referenced in the article.
- sndream, on 03/31/2009, -2/+2I am sure the Chinese have a cyber spying operation just like every country in the world.
But it's hard to believe the Chinese need to ran the network inside their country, I mean com'on, not that hard to route the traffic thru a bunch of botnet and make it untraceable. Also, all of this coming from the Munk Center for International Studies, a political activists group and we have heard nothing from the computer security community make this look faker by the minute. - phocion, on 03/31/2009, -2/+1Check out the history on "Titan Rain" and tell me that we are blowing this out of proportion.
- An0nym0u5, on 03/31/2009, -2/+1Yet, it's perfectly ok to believe in a report commisioned by the Dalai's people. Uh yeah, ok. Whatever.
If you're going to apply some healthy cynicism then why not apply it to both sides? Funny how the you guys all seem to think the Dalai tells nothing but the truth. Somehow despite the pope, muslims and all other religions getting a total slating any thing that happens to oppose China gets a free pass regardless of how ludicrous it is. Falon Gong is yet another example. It's comlete ***** and if anybody here had read that rediculous book by its founder they'd realise it is nothing but a dangerous cult. But no, free pass. Hypocritical asses the lot of you. - godfly, on 03/31/2009, -2/+1you guys should get a room or something.
- ortucis, on 03/31/2009, -3/+2I am shocked. This is absolutely shocking that shockingly they just didn't admit and begged for forgiveness. Shocking shocking absolutely shocking.
- inactive, on 03/31/2009, -5/+4yeah maybe thye can get the ***** out of South Africa and stop dictating who SA can and can't let into the country.. we all hate you now China.. don't think we'll forget you messing with this sovereign nation.
