That they claim Tibet as part of the motherland is such a farce, when it was taken, by heavy force, a short 50 years ago. And they claim that the Dali Lama is the one in the wrong, yet the Tibetan people must present papers to leave their own cities and live in constant fear of being taken in the night by secret police for saying the wrong thing in public (I learned this on a recent trip to Tibet from speaking to locals). Though I am glad to see our government is still honoring him, I wish someone would have the balls to stand up to China. They're going to take Taiwan soon enough, simply because they started training their entire population that it was already theirs, and no one is going to stop them. I wouldn't be surprised to see them grab Burma either when that government inevitably falls. While I could just be paranoid, the more I learn about China's stance and situation with resources, the more I think they are going to be the 21st century World War instigators, taking neighboring countries by force.
