- grungegbunny, on 10/10/2007, -6/+67for chrissake leave the middle east alone already.
- unicronband, on 10/10/2007, -6/+57He's not advocating attacking Iran (publicly), he wants airstrikes on Iranian training camps within Iraq. That being said, the propaganda machine is spinning full force with the Bushies claiming Iran is arming insurgents. If bombing countries who arm insurgents is the plan, well it would follow that we should bomb ourselves for "losing" 200,000 weapons. Of couse logic never got in the way of these guys.
- whatthefu, on 10/10/2007, -6/+42Why not link to the actual news story instead of a blog?
- coinman987, on 10/10/2007, -5/+40I doubt the US will attack Russia, they can actually defend themselves just like north Korea. The US only attacks countries that cannot defend themselves.
- cusoman, on 10/10/2007, -4/+34You're sadly underestimating Iran then.
- spoiled1, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31Nobody attacks a nuclear country, wait so why does the administration wants to attack Iran?
- spoiled1, on 10/10/2007, -4/+29Another choice would not have changed the outcome of the rigged elections.
- unicronband, on 10/10/2007, -6/+27Why are you digging him down? He's right. If you actually read the article it says:
"Vice President Dick Cheney several weeks ago proposed launching airstrikes at suspected training camps in Iraq run by the Quds force"
There's a slight difference between bombing Iran and bombing Iranians in Iraq. - ScrumFritter, on 10/10/2007, -5/+24Oh those crazy Americans. One day you'll have us all killed, you rascals.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17The biggest problem with attacking Iran...other than it's just ***** wrong and we need to get the ***** out of the ME...is that we've ALREADY got a TWO-FRONT military action going on: Afghanistan and Iraq. Our military is stretched to its limits. We CAN NOT take on a third country at this time. It's not logistically possible. It would be a ***** suicide run...and I'm damned tired of watching our men and women die in the sand over failed Neocon ideology.
- anaesthetica, on 10/10/2007, -30/+46Nowhere in the article text does Cheney advocate a strike on Iran. Buried as inaccurate.
- InetRoadkill, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20Go for it Cheney! You lead the way. We'll be right behind you. /snark
- catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20"Vice President Dick Cheney several weeks ago proposed launching airstrikes at suspected training camps in Iraq run by the Quds force"
Iraq != Iran - Bajeda, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18Your complete lack of any knowledge regarding the history of the Middle East is astounding. You are embarrasing, and its because of people like you who make judgements without looking at any facts that we are in this ***** up situation we are in now.
- Fallout911, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18Dick Cheney can go ***** himself.
- Grumps, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16WTF didnt he earn enough from Iraq?
- c0ldfusi0n, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Please. By all means, do it. It's starting to become a bit too packed here up north, we could use the free space.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13agreed, i think this is a BAD idea
not to mention there are a LOT of iranian-americans
i think this is about the right time for the US to pull out of everything in the middle east. it's now a civil conflict and the US can't do a whole lot of permanent change by themselves. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15Gee, that's a compelling argument to commit further war crimes. I'm sure that fear of being called a "pussy" is something that motivates uber-right-wing nutters.
- airwalkery2k, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11You can tell we're headed for a war in Iran. The media that be has already declared their position. I heard a CNN reporter start a report about Iran this morning with a rather biased intro, "Why haven't we invaded Iran yet?"
- terrordome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Iran has the world's largest militray in terms of manpower (~12.3 million vs 2.3 million US), although most if it is paramilitary.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_total_troops - Snarfy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Where is the banner ad click through money in that?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10The worlds biggest arms dealer wants to attack another country? Thats just good business.. for him.
- WilliamDavis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9"The biggest problem with attacking Iran...other than it's just ***** wrong"
Really man, you don't need to continue after that. Game over, you win. - unknownunknowns, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Seriously. Have you ever tried to occupy the Middle East in Risk? It's damn near impossible -- a total waste of time and resources.
- martinvives, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13I wonder if you guys are ever gonna learn...
- MadMan6680, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9I'm not surprised, Iran was Persia after all.
- Osjpr, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8You are an idiot if you think there is no intention to attack Iran.
- 28dayslater, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9You mean to tell us you would have voted for a different democrat other than Kerry over a republican, 3 years ago, without knowing what you know now about Bush? Why don't you stop lying to yourself.
- bigturns, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Just as the lobster is dropped into a cold pot of water of which the temperature is slowly raised, we too have been slowly conditioned into allowing such insane reasoning (preemptive nuclear attacks on Iran) to rule the land. Such was discussed openly by Republican Presidential candidates during recent debates. As well as discussions concerning the 'nuclear option', a few years old, which occurred at the highest levels within the Bush administration.
Don't be lulled into thinking the bombing and subsequent invasion into Iran is necessary and / or the logical progression in the war on terror. - BearToy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7The sudden lies and diversion to get us into Iraq make sense when you consider the PNAC 1998 document "Rebuilding America's Defenses". http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3249.htm
The same document calls for the control of Iran and Syria. What we are seeing was planned before Bush was placed in the White House by the SCOTUS in 2000. After that, all that was needed was some sort of New Pearl Harbor (tm). - BESTenemy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9First we need to have Russia surrounded by invading or buying our way into all the neighboring countries. We chew off little bits of their boarder. We've been building bases all around it. We've been making tiny steps towards our coveted goal. Biggest country on this planet, and still not ours! Man! That just eating eating our politicians up!
- flaterates, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8He has been told this.
- blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Breathe?
- BlacklabelSAR, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I will be there! Thank you for your good work brother.
- Razster, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7I hear Canada is nice this time of year.
- sanman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5The question is -- does Cheney want to go all the way to achieve regime change, or does he simply intend a raid that only turns Iran into an angry wounded tiger?
- bigturns, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5you've got my vote
- maybeinoregon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Jesus - that is why the whole world hates us -
I am going to cover all of my bases and learn Chinese and Russian - so when we get invaded, I will at least be able to speak the language. - JAVandiver, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10What I think is funny is that people do not believe you. Pathetic Diggeral sheep... All Republicans(aside Ron Paul) are evil neo-cons, anything counterculture(i.e. Raw Story, other Truther blogspam) is automatically correct, Dick Cheney is evil. Give it up you angsty teens(or people who never grew out of that phase) and neo-hippie Greens. You really are pathetic.
- DrewTheITGuy, on 10/10/2007, -8/+13ummm....does anyone even read the articles anymore. No where in the article did it say Cheney urged attacks on Iran.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8A) Invading a nation that never attacked the USA is a war crime.
B) ***** you in the heart, you racist a-hole. - blackjack75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I don't think we're doing wars for Israel. I believe we created israel to justify our wars to get the resources.
- mwmccullough, on 10/10/2007, -8/+13rawstory.com = questionable
- pgoetz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+72 words: Abu Ghraib
- TroubleInMind, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4So since Bin Laden is a Saudi, alQueda is financed with Saudi money, the guys that flew the planes on 9/11 were Saudis, and overwhelming numbers of insurgents in Iraq are Saudi Wahabi jihadists, the US should DEFINITELY attack Iran.
- klipsch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I live in a warm fuzzy liberal vacuum....it's called REALITY. Americans would never have wanted to go to war had they not been fed misinformation and outright lies about phantom WMDs and not had their fears magnified and exploited by talk about smoking guns in the form of mushroom clouds.
- EricMiIIer, on 07/10/2009, -4/+8This is a bad idea because countries like Pakistan, Russia, and China have already vowed to back Iran if we attack. Thats a can full of worms that I sure as hell don't want to open.
