- inactive, on 02/11/2008, -0/+3I love how Chavez seized oil company's property and then nationalized it. Right after he encouraged all the oil company's to build extensive facilities in Venezuela. So who is he thief? Chavez is a schmuck. The only people that will be hurt by his cutting of oil will be the Venezuelans. Nothing quite like shooting yourself in the head to exact revenge against someone who caught you stealing.

- inactive, on 02/11/2008, -0/+2If I recall correctly.... when Chavez started seizing everyone's oil production facilities, BP(?) saw what was happening and immediately sent a huge number of heavily armed guards to protect it's facilities. If I remember correctly, it has been a stand-off with the Venezuelans since then.
- welldigger1, on 02/11/2008, -0/+1Citgo, a wholly owned subsidiary of PDVSA is Hugo Chavez's ticket. Citgo is also the 6th largest gasoline producing company in the US. If Chavez cuts off the oil supply from Venezuela to the US, he will cut off Venezuela's largest source of income. He would only hurt HIMSELF. He orchestrated and fixed the election scheme, that Ex-President Jimmy Carter endorsed, held in 2004 where the opposition tried to vote him out. He had it set up where opposition supporters would not have valid voter registration documents. He pushed out the oil companies in 2005, not 2007 as the media indicated. He put his PDVSA managers in all the offices of the IOC's to oversee operations. He is bluffing. He is definitely an idiot, but he is not that stupid,
