- angusm, on 02/08/2008, -1/+10I used to live just round the corner from a big nightclub in Edinburgh. When the nightclub closed on Friday and Saturday evenings, the local delinquents didn't bother trying to get a cab: they'd just steal someone's car to drive home. My roommate had to make a number of Sunday morning trips out to Bathgate (a neighboring town) to pick up her car before she eventually wised up and bought a steering-wheel lock.
- wreckosaurus, on 02/08/2008, -1/+6from the wiki article on ambien:
Some users have reported unexplained sleepwalking while using ambien, and a few have reported driving, binge eating, sleep talking, and performing other daily tasks while sleeping. The sleepwalker can sometimes perform these tasks as normally as they might if they were awake. They can sometimes carry on complex conversations and respond appropriately to questions or statements so much so that the observer may believe the sleepwalker to be awake. - Vodka2389, on 02/09/2008, -1/+4Do they leave a mint on the dashboard?
- GinsuGuy585, on 02/09/2008, -2/+4...or forgot about the dead hooker you left in your trunk.
- garfonzo, on 02/09/2008, -0/+2"Until the thief is nabbed, we recommend the Scottish keep their tanks empty and their keys on the nightstand." so that when YOU go to drive it, you'll run out of gas.

- NGliam, on 02/09/2008, -2/+1Is this illegal? My friend does law at A level and was saying it's not illegal to take things if you intend to return them (vaguely, he didn't know the details) so I said "What about cars?". If this thief is taking the car keys then it's unlikely he is also Breaking & Entering (unless he breaks into the house which is unlikely) and if he returns the cars without any notable differences (other than more mileage) then the value of the car is not lowered.. you could argue, possibly, that the thief is stealing petrol :o
