- notque, on 11/29/2007, -7/+162They are war criminals, and deserve to be tried as such.
- mal1964, on 11/29/2007, -2/+123How much you want to bet they wont be turned over friday.
- qpn6ph9q, on 11/29/2007, -4/+98Let's see how quickly the administration runs for cover behind the Sate Secrecy principle. I hope this particular federal judge does not cave in to the Government's bullying tactics and requires them to justify their abuse of this principle. http://lexxicon.universeii.com/2007/11/what-presid ...
- pintomp3, on 11/29/2007, -4/+83yeah, the friday after never. since when has this administration ever followed the courts or the law?
- JLecker, on 11/29/2007, -2/+69Hmm... I have the feeling someone's going to accidentally lose a few million files on Thursday.
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -5/+68You know, for every neo-***** that has been an ***** on this issue, "you're paranoid, you are deluded... the government wouldn't do that.. go back to your ron paul conspiracy site..." I just want to say, IDIOTS. It gives me no joy, I don't delight in the fact that you pricks were wrong, our government is a ***** mess thanks to your indifference to Democracy. We stand for freedom, my ass.
- AshamedAmerican, on 11/29/2007, -3/+54And I'm sure they won't be redacted, doctored, or just completely fraudulent altogether.
Not a chance. If this administration has shown me anything, it's their unwavering dedication to the absolute truth. - dattaway, on 11/29/2007, -1/+33"The Bush adminstration will vigorously fight and defend privacy of the documents."
- buckrogers1965, on 11/29/2007, -1/+33Please let the judge just start throwing people into prison for contempt. Please.
- Bologner, on 11/29/2007, -4/+33It has to start somewhere
It has to start sometime
What better place than here?
WHAT BETTER TIME THAN NOW?!? - n0xz, on 11/29/2007, -2/+28It will never happened. Bush's dog ate the papers and Cheney shot the computer by accident.
- h4mx0r, on 11/29/2007, -1/+26I'm thinkin' Nixon...
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -3/+26If they don't turn it over by friday they will be charged with contempt of court, a crime punishable by a jail sentence and a fine. Meaning bush will go to jail, then he will be bailed out, then he will have to plead guilty or not guilty, and go to trial. Of course that's how it's supposed to work. But I doubt that our wonderful judicial branch will follow through with their jobs.
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -4/+26WHERE ARE YOU BUSH BITCHES NOW?!!
well, whats left of you 28% ers...all 5 of you!
I noticed lately that you yellow ribbon Idiots haven't been "supporting" our troops on the war boards and have stayed away from the Frist, Delay, Rove indictment or "Dick Cheney ousts CIA agent" boards but instead have decided to hang out and bash Libs on the, "Redneck Skank, still missing in Aruba", "White Suburban Runaway Bride" "Shark Attack" and "McDonald's courts designers for hipper uniforms" boards.
Tired of getting your asses handed to you by Patriotic Americans eh?!
How truly and pathetic, desperate and utterly irrelevant you must feel
I think I know, they are off somewhere making up new names to call the mothers of fallen soldiers. They are far too busy pretending to be self righteous while simultaneously wishing death on Cindy Sheehan. Don't you realize how much work it takes to be so duplicitous? It's not easy. Besides, they have another false war to start. Why would they take time away from their valuable mission to refute facts when they can just call names? - joper90, on 11/29/2007, -3/+24100% will never happen.... its national safety (or some such bollocks)
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -3/+22Never forget who supported this failure, don't let them distance themselves from him. Whining about Libs and Dems and Clinton and Kerry and gay sex, while offering nothing of substance - and most notably - no defense for the lying little sack of ***** from Texas they shackled us with!
America's enemy is the idiot who IGNORES that Bush lied to us about Iraq, IGNORES that Bush defends treason, IGNORES that Bush was asleep at the wheel on 9/11, IGNORES that Bush had already blundered our war effort in Iraq, IGNORES that Bush still tries to link Iraq and 911, IGNORES that Bush was going to run amok with our Constitution, IGNORES his continued policy that fuels extremist groups and floods intelligence agencies with "false positives" from illegal wiretapping operations—among other things and still voted to re-elect this miserable failure.
The enemy from within has perpetuated this death and devastation. Don't forget it.
It is because of a bush voting moron that the country is in the atrocious position it is in today. - sotopheavy, on 11/29/2007, -5/+22Breaking: Bush is no longer a member of the executive office. Cheney's name is no longer Cheney. It's fluffy.
- inf0, on 11/29/2007, -1/+16Geeks Are Us is going to be doing some serious 7 level wiping....
- rupertmorris, on 11/29/2007, -1/+15Imagine if there was no EFF or ACLU...
- williamdyer, on 11/29/2007, -2/+16The so-called "state secrets privilege" was first assrerted in the 1950's, in a case where the government was clearly lying. It has only the most tenuous connection to common law. There is ZERO constitutional or statutory support for it.
I hope there is a judge with enough balls to just call ***** on the whole concept of an imperial executive holding a golden "get out of jail free" card. George W. Bush ordered torture. He should be in prison for that. That is something simple enough for any child to understand. - bebop717, on 11/29/2007, -3/+16The Freedom of Information Act will be repealed by thur.
- manstein01, on 11/29/2007, -0/+12I love how the administration wants absolute privacy to everything they do, but no privacy for the citizens it serves.
- pleiadianagenda, on 11/29/2007, -1/+13Impeach Bush and Cheney, and do it immediately. The evidence of their crimes is obvious.
And for all of those who are like "it'll never happen, yada yada yada." you have to change your thinking. Change starts with the power of thought and intention. Manifest your destiny. If you think we cannot change things, then the dark side has already won. - sweetnuts4sale, on 11/29/2007, -1/+12my biggest issue is, since when has anyone that has ever been suspected off a crime or multiple crimes, been asked to had in potential evidence a few days later...?
- jubilee123, on 11/29/2007, -3/+14Not happening. Some lame ass excuse is going to pop up. Guaran-*****-tee it.
- SouthernGeek, on 11/29/2007, -1/+12Seriously, does anyone truly believe that Bush will turn over these documents, all it takes are some re-written documents, a fire, and they never existed
- robberry, on 11/29/2007, -0/+11And just as importantly, when have the Democrats in Congress ever fought back when the Bush administration breaks the law? It's no wonder Congress' approval rating is so low-- the American people (including myself) put the Democrats into Congress because they were sick of Bush's abuses, but for the most part they've been too spineless to actually fight those abuses. I'm starting to think Yeats was writing about the Bush era when he wrote "the best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity."
- Antwan718, on 11/29/2007, -2/+12Prison costs us the taxpayers money, so i think they would be better off being deported to Venezuela with all their assets seized.
- williamdyer, on 11/29/2007, -1/+11Enough sarcasm and bitterness and people will start burning down government buildings. Keep the anger stoked.
- inf0, on 11/29/2007, -1/+9Rights to privacy have nothing to do with any so-called terrorist boogie-men!!
- inactive, on 11/29/2007, -1/+9Most likely the NSA secretly wiretapped since the dawn of time, court warrant approval or not, and I doubt they are about to stop any time soon.
Difference today is that the Bush administration just happened to be so clumsy they ***** everything up, now the general public knows.
The spooks must hate those morons. While the people should be thankful, in a sense, because now lawsuits are flying all over the place. This controversy should redeem some form of oversight and accountability again. Remember where FISA came from. - BESTenemy, on 11/29/2007, -0/+7They're both overdue for "Saddam treatment".
- ninephoenixes, on 11/29/2007, -1/+8Dugg for use of the word "buttress"
- rz8472, on 11/29/2007, -2/+8I guess freedom is a commodity. They're importing it all to themselves at the expense of everyone else.
- buckrogers1965, on 11/29/2007, -3/+9It is up to the judge and they are elected for life. Go judge go!
- zeusthemoose, on 11/29/2007, -0/+6Holy crap...
I am so shocked by what you wrote my mouth is literally hanging open.
A. Clinton was not a treasonous scumbag like the Bushies are. Clinton lied about a blowjob (technically he did not have sexual intercourse with her so he told a half truth). Lying about a blowjob is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than wiping your ass with the constitution so that your buddies can make a pretty penny at the expense of the American people.
B. One person's wrong does not justify another person's wrong. You right wingers were up in arms about the terrible unthinkable blowjob and now you stand in silence over the complete destruction of this country. This is absolutely shocking.
I will never understand how you right wingers justify your actions. You are acting like a bunch of fascists. Grow up and realize that you are in the wrong here. - PeppermintPig, on 11/29/2007, -0/+5Now multiply that times... well, times the number of scandals.. I've lost track, but it's at least 10...
- FredFredrickson, on 11/29/2007, -0/+5Hey "ChoosyMother"? Get off Digg and go back to the kitchen, okay?
- Jareth86, on 11/29/2007, -1/+6Yeah, they'll do that right after Fox News endorses Dennis Kucinich.
- williamdyer, on 11/29/2007, -0/+5Usually, a search warrant is executed. Now THAT would be amusing in this case.
- allisonaxe, on 11/29/2007, -2/+7I think, in some cases, its not indifference. I've seen this ***** coming for a while, but honestly? when i raise the subject, am treated like a kook, and genuinely don't know what to do, who to ask, or where to go in order to change what I don't like with the system... your sarcasm and bitterness, while probably justified, isn't going to change anything, either.
- williamdyer, on 11/29/2007, -2/+7It's been more than a "mere few days" since they were first asked. The president is a criminal. Lock him up.
- CrazedLeper, on 11/29/2007, -0/+5Your government did everything and told you to blame the Saudis. Go to the FBI's website and see Osama on the most wanted page. Note that OSAMA BIN LADEN IS NOT WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH 9/11.
- ronaldinho, on 11/29/2007, -1/+5Still, it's a glimmer of hope, better than nothing......my goodness, if this administration is good at one thing, it's good at perpetuating pessimism. Even if I know this administration deserves to have their asses handed to them, I still know that most of my friends are too apathetic to realize that these crooks are destroying our country bit by bit. By the time they realize it (and start losing basic rights and oh *****, the iPod!), it's too late.
- Herostratus, on 11/29/2007, -1/+5They knew exactly what they were doing and most likely knew that the information would serve a nefarious purpose. The is no immunity or them. Even if the courts let them off the hook they will one day feel the backlash. Whats most likely is that they did so either for additional consolidation power or maintenance of a large long term lucrative government contract most likely with the NSA.
THROW THE EFFIN BOOK AT EM - CrazedLeper, on 11/29/2007, -1/+5Yeah, right. Is it still a document if EVERY SINGLE WORD is redacted?
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 11/29/2007, -0/+4Insider trading, etc.
- qpn6ph9q, on 11/29/2007, -0/+4I think it will go like... the administration will be held in contempt... they will give the court the finger and assert executive privilege.. we will bitch and moan and digg up the story while they will get on with committing crimes, drumming up false enemies and everything that tyrants have done throughout history in their ultimate abuse of power while this congress sits idly by and does nothing. Or do you want to speak out and call your representative and remind them to carry out their sworn oath to act as check and balance?
- dank123, on 11/29/2007, -1/+5and this country yet again doesn't learn from this administrations actions in the past. Bush will not turn over documents and empty threats against this administration does nothing but strengthen their agendas becuase we sit back and let them do whatever they want. He doesn't like timetables, remember?
