- temujin1234, on 07/13/2009, -10/+123It would be nice if either party was fiscally conservative. Bush had the record deficit before Obama beat him.
- akchrs, on 07/13/2009, -83/+174Thanks Obama.
- AmnesiacJack, on 07/13/2009, -6/+80Hey as long as we keep blaming people we don't have to focus on the problem and actually fix it!
- ilvg2k, on 07/13/2009, -55/+126Change I can believe in.
- 17999, on 07/13/2009, -36/+107Blaming it on Bush in 3...2...1...
- Geheg3D, on 07/13/2009, -10/+76I do blame Obama and Bush for this, along with every other politician(read: liar and thief) and various other bureaucrats.
- arunforce, on 07/13/2009, -4/+66"The Americans will always do the right thing . . . After they've exhausted all the alternatives."
- Winston Churchill
I think until we are pushed to the maximum limit of debt possible, our until our investors grow tired of buying debt, this will continue. But once it happens, America is going to switch to saving mode. Or, we end up *****. Either way. - Bakedwafer, on 07/13/2009, -19/+67Whomever is last off the sinking ship, please make sure to turn out the lights.
- inboxnews, on 07/13/2009, -29/+74Please tell us how we can spend our way out of trouble? Debt is debt is debt. More debt isn't going to solve anything. More debt makes a bad problem worse. Obama's $800 Billion dollar stimulus is a failure. This is Obama's economy.
- novenator, on 07/13/2009, -19/+57Well, to be fair, Bush did give us a $1.2 Trillion budget deficit for fiscal 2009.
- AmnesiacJack, on 07/13/2009, -3/+39Why blame Bush OR Obama? Do they hold ultimate power or something?
This is a problem in the senate and house, filled with lifetime politicians and corruption. The president is just a figurehead some one who comes and goes to take the arrows and majority of the blame. It's a great tactic and has worked to shift focus from the real problem for years. - serif69, on 07/13/2009, -4/+39Remember when we were all more concerned with the amount of money being spent by our government on *other* countries? Back then, we measured the deficit in hundreds of billions of dollars. Good times.
- TomT127, on 07/13/2009, -20/+55You ain't seen nothing yet. Wait until national health care kicks in.
- dissolutionman, on 07/13/2009, -5/+37Why the ***** can't we ever get a balanced budget? Elect Republicans and they cut taxes without cutting spending, making a deficit. Elect Democrats, and they increase spending, making a deficit.
Doesn't anyone on Capitol Hill know how to manage money responsibly? - 17999, on 07/13/2009, -8/+37Whoever.
Whoever is the subject of the sentence and takes the nominative. You use whomever when it's the object of the action, like:
"I'll donkey punch whomever corrects my grammar." - skinneej, on 07/13/2009, -5/+30this is the best US government deficit ever!
- drmangrum, on 07/13/2009, -20/+45And it took Bush 8 years. It's taken Obama 6 months.
- DarkShroud, on 07/13/2009, -6/+30Because Obama out spent Bush's spending on his own.
- drmangrum, on 07/13/2009, -15/+37People aren't blaming him for the recession, they're blaming him for trying to spend our way out of it. Most economists are saying the recession would end in late '09 to early '10 REGARDLESS of the stimulus bill.
So, why did we need a $750B spending bill again? - bizzywho, on 07/13/2009, -7/+29Okay. I think we've established the fact that we all hate Bush, but it's not exactly like the Democrats in Congress were powerless during his administration. They voted with Bush many times. And now that a member from their own party is in office, it's full steam ahead.
- Sideshowslob, on 07/13/2009, -11/+33Wait, didn't Obama just pass a 3.4 trillion dollar budget?
Keynesian economics = *****. - nudedos, on 07/13/2009, -4/+26I blame Bud Light. They don't pay me nothing.
- bitburn, on 07/13/2009, -12/+34Yeah. Didn't Ron Paul and Peter Schiff warned about this happening? Like years ago?? Don't blame Bush, blame the FED! The monetary system was doomed to fail and so this is it...so brace yourselves. Hyper-inflation, higher interest rates. The death of the dollar is near.
- keysmachine, on 07/13/2009, -14/+35all the dig downs in this digg means Obama supporters are in full force.
- lordmike, on 07/13/2009, -0/+21Banks are unable to file chapter 11 by law... they must liquidate...
- neonhomer, on 07/13/2009, -4/+25Don't forget to add congress to the mix, they've been handing out money left and right for this and the previous administrations. First it was the war, now's it's banks and whomever else they deem necessary.
- dave122, on 07/13/2009, -4/+24Because Obama is continuing and expanding bush's policies?
'Obama is screwing up.'
Quick! Look over there, big bad bush!! - oldhick, on 07/13/2009, -18/+36"The Bush budget didn't include trillions of dollars of money that didn't exist.", yes it did.
- boonesfarm, on 07/13/2009, -3/+21I wouldn't blame Obama for the landmark deficit. But, he and his Congress are making it much, much worse.
- inactive, on 07/13/2009, -6/+24All this talk of Obama fixing health care is making me feel nauseous
- boonesfarm, on 07/13/2009, -0/+18Don't worry. At the rate we're printing money now, we'll all be millionaires soon!
- SimonWatson, on 07/13/2009, -3/+201 trillion, that's quite a big number.
- GQCarrick, on 07/13/2009, -19/+35I am glad I didn't vote for this administration.
- PHPnerd, on 07/13/2009, -4/+20Let's have a blamestorming session!
- juankovo, on 07/13/2009, -17/+33Real Change: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/
- hydroplane, on 07/13/2009, -5/+21This town (D.C.) needs an enema.
- 17999, on 07/13/2009, -6/+21Yea, normally, I let things slide.
But, when someone tries to use "whom" or "whomever" and does it incorrectly, I figure they're trying to sound like a smartypants. If someone says "who" when they should say "whom," I let it slide, or I'd pass out from exhaustion. - methdwman3, on 07/13/2009, -11/+26I'm alright with not placing blame, but how about this - Stop ***** spending money Obama!
- throop77, on 07/13/2009, -4/+19He is blaming Obama for the deficit, which Obama created by bailing out everyone and their mothers.
- PHPnerd, on 07/13/2009, -0/+15Congress
- 17999, on 07/13/2009, -8/+22You ask me, at about the 1 billion mark, if you're President and Congress is locked up by your party, you own the ***** deficit.
Like the county fair:
"Step right up, step right up and lead the Free World."
"That's a hammer I can believe in."
Whack!
Ding!
"Congratulations to the fine young African American gentleman. You just won responsibility."
Say what you want about Bush, and I've thought he was a ***** since South Carolina in 2000, but at least he took responsibility for his actions, even if, or especially, if they were *****-ups. - inactive, on 07/13/2009, -13/+27Great job, Obama! And both houses of Legislature, who seem unable to pull your heads out of Obama's ass!
Keep on growing government and adding entitlement programs, and we'll be headed the way of California. - dave122, on 07/13/2009, -2/+14And the projected deficit for obama by the end of his presidency is over 10 trillion, what's your point?
I'm not saying I agree with bush, the exact opposite in fact.
Pot, meet kettle. - scamper22, on 07/13/2009, -2/+14the question is does the average person know how to vote for responsible money managers?
To that, the answer is no.
We all want free everything and someone else to pay.
We get the government we deserve. - MacParrot, on 07/13/2009, -25/+36I have no idea if what Obama is doing is going to work, but he isn't doing anything that McCain wouldn't have had to deal with (with the same results most likely), but my comment was on the obsurdity of blaming Obama for the current fiscal crisis. Why are you spinning it? Obama inherited a crisis just as Bush did. I slammed the Bush haters for the same reasons. Get over yourself.
As far as this being "Obama's" economy, do you know when the fiscal year for the govt begins and ends? We are currently still under a Bush budget - SoyoKaze, on 07/13/2009, -6/+17We can't blame a single person for this, but the bailouts are not helping. Unemployment is way higher than the white house predicted if those measures passed. It's even higher than they said it would have been if the bailouts didn't pass!

Bush or Obama, I don't care, but would someone please stop throwing my tax dollars away! - woodyex1, on 07/13/2009, -2/+13@MAGZine
Have you seen any stimulus money yet? I sure haven't. I might get to see some of it when I visit Vegas next week. That is if they have started building the museum dedicated to mob involvement in Las Vegas that we US taxpayers are footing the bill for. Or perhaps I'll get to see it on my trip to the beach if they have started building the 2.3 million dollar "Turtle Highway". Great Job President Obama. You have made amazing fiscal choices. - superkendall, on 07/13/2009, -1/+12What were the Democrats doing with the majority in house AND senate the last two years? Oh hey, wasn't Obama part of that very senate? Pretty easy to lay a lot of blame at his feet when he was in a position to at least complain and he never did, and now he's piling on debt as fast as the pen will flow.
- woodyex1, on 07/13/2009, -0/+11uneducated voters...and gypsies.
- DomineInSitu, on 07/13/2009, -4/+14At least all that money is going to create jobs...so that we can afford a $10 gallon of milk...wait a minute...
