- poopiewarrior, on 07/17/2009, -5/+52"Among the nuggets not appearing in the movie but said nonetheless, according to Alpher, were: "Your conflict is not so bad. Jennifer-Angelina is worse"" WHY DIDNT THEY ADD THIS LINE IN THE MOVIE? ITS ABSOLUTELY HALLARIOUS
- deathfix, on 07/19/2009, -12/+59"Don't kill each other. Kill a Christian."
That was one of the few funny moments in the movie. - durruticolumn, on 09/18/2009, -4/+46
That's kind of the point. Unlike Borat, where most of the jokes were on the people he was talking to, sometimes Bruno is the joke, in that he represents something that is worthy of satire. In this situation, just like when he adopted a black baby from africa like a fashion accessory, it's the tendency of celebrities to do really inane and self-absorbed things and think they're saving the world by doing it.
Showing up in Israel/Palestine and singing a song about holding hands is totally ignorant, but it's the kind of "let's just all love each other!" ***** that you see celebrities push because they really don't know what they're doing. The point is to satire that attitude, and to point out it's many flaws, so that the next time Bono or whoever decides they're gonna save the world with their platitudes, everybody righftully tells them to ***** off. - roxgod666, on 07/19/2009, -2/+34I am a gay jew from Kazakhstan , and i approve Bruno's message.
- ShingoEX, on 07/19/2009, -4/+31Because he's not an overly-sensitive religious nut, and because it's funny.
- Tanktunker, on 07/19/2009, -2/+27I am a Jewish Israeli and I approve of Bruno's message.
- murocan, on 07/19/2009, -3/+26I am a Muslim and I approve Bruno's message xD
- purplesawdust, on 07/18/2009, -1/+23The enemy of my enemy is my friend
- bagelmaster, on 07/19/2009, -6/+20It's funny for two reasons: 1) The situation in which he used. 2) It pisses off Christians, which is always hilarious
- newman8r, on 07/19/2009, -2/+16@tg he'd be even funnier if you understood the irony
- Whatasillyhat, on 07/19/2009, -0/+13I figured from that scene if the guy didn't think Bruno was such an idiot he would have had him killed.
He clenches his fist in a classic tyrant-dictator style! - Aeroboy, on 07/19/2009, -3/+16This is particularly ironic since Sacha Baron Cohen is Jewish.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/19/2009, -1/+13Wow... Presbyterian..
I knew you were an idiot, but this... this takes the cake. - JoeDiggsIt, on 07/19/2009, -2/+13Um, unnecessary freakout much?
- oldhick, on 07/19/2009, -0/+11I find it funny and I am Christian. Many people can laugh. I doubt it pisses off most Christians. Maybe some stick in the mud ones, BUT IT'S A JOKE! Maybe it's funny because deep down the faiths of the Jews, the Muslims, and Christians are about loving the Lord, loving each ourselves, and loving each other. Yet we find it easier to continue to hurt, maim, torture and kill each other. It's one of those, it's so pathetically sad that laughter might help us realize how foolish we all can be.
Some might laugh because they like to belittle others such as Christians. That is just more of the same... I laugh because I realize we all need to come together. The lines and walls must come down. - magamiako, on 07/19/2009, -0/+11As a Baren-Cohen movie, it wasn't as funny to me as making fun of the US as he did with Borat. But then again, I also find making fun of idiotic people in the US, and particularly the southern white crowd, to be hilarious as hell. He did make fun of them a little bit in Bruno--but we already know they hate gay people. So it's not something necessarily to make fun of because we know it exists.
That said, what shocked me the most were the people auditioning their children for modeling. - robev, on 07/19/2009, -0/+10there is already an Ali G movie and I doubt he will make another.
- Kravin, on 07/19/2009, -0/+10@Pres
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Austria - tgc1, on 07/19/2009, -7/+16I am a meat popsicle and I approve Brunos message.
- diskoh, on 07/19/2009, -4/+13I can think of no greater testament to a man's character than having those two hating you.
- charm803, on 07/19/2009, -0/+9Because he was pointing out the ridiculousness of killing each other by pointing out an even more ridiculous alternative.
- TheMachine1, on 07/19/2009, -1/+9Brüno > entire Middle Earth.
- SaladCactusKing, on 07/19/2009, -1/+9HI ZIS IS BRUNO. TODAY WE ARE INTERVIEWING THE GRAY WIZARD, GANDALF AND HIS FRIEND MR. FRODO
- oxdeltaxo, on 07/19/2009, -0/+8Nothing brings people together like something else to hate.
- TheRedLemon, on 07/19/2009, -1/+8...there were a lot of funny moments in the movie
- Crimsoneer, on 07/19/2009, -8/+15Killing a christian is always funny.
Do I even need to add /s? - bagelmaster, on 07/19/2009, -5/+12Anyone who was offended by this movie or refuses to see it because that would support future films like this, please remove the sticks from your collective asses.
- gizmo12688, on 07/19/2009, -5/+12Cheney? Is that you?
- americanoboy, on 07/19/2009, -5/+11did anyone see jews chase bruno because he walked down the street dressed like a gay? these people are as barbaric and close-minded as their brothers, muslims.
- AmyVernon, on 07/18/2009, -3/+9I would call that a win.
- DDRSkata, on 07/19/2009, -0/+6You can see the pixels?
- RobotBuddha, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5It just amazes me to realize sometimes how enraged someone can get from simple words. Freaking out to that extent just because of name calling that any of us would have laughed off in grade school.
- eanbowman, on 07/19/2009, -0/+5If only we could hire Mr. Cohen to keep this up full time now.
- SteveMTyler, on 07/19/2009, -3/+8he's not real, it is a character. Also, in the movie he is trying to become famous, he isn't famous (outside of austria) when the movie begins.
- sybont, on 07/19/2009, -1/+5I liked how he made them touch hands, repeatedly.
- TheMachine1, on 07/19/2009, -0/+4Maybe I have a mental and/or moral defect because I thought the movie was great.
- ahhell, on 07/19/2009, -1/+5Stunning revelation. It says that in the ***** title.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/19/2009, -0/+4@Whackly: Read some of his other comments.
Then take some ibuprofen for the headache... - ohplease, on 07/19/2009, -0/+3I am a Combo and I approve of Bartboy's message;
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/19/2009, -1/+4Btw, minor point I know - I can say Bruno but how do you say Brüno?
- RobotBuddha, on 07/19/2009, -0/+3I was wishing so much that they could have played throw the jew down the well during the jewish chase scene.
- eyepennies, on 07/19/2009, -1/+4http://www.godhatesfags.com/
Just so we can put intolerant Christians in the same family as the intolerant people of other religions! - diskoh, on 07/20/2009, -0/+2You have to admit... at least they agree on one thing. They hate Bruno, the both of them.
- bagelmaster, on 07/19/2009, -1/+3That sounds like a very scientific study you did there.
