- swiftsurfere, on 10/03/2009, -10/+44So that they could more effectively organise the acts of terror in India!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Ymeg, on 10/03/2009, -1/+23Well, this ought to be interesting. For some odd reason my mind is conjuring up images of unintended consequences 10-15 years down the road, but it is just speculation.
- RSS14, on 10/03/2009, -2/+18"The name's Muhammad. . . Samir Muhammad"
- pnvtejaswi, on 10/03/2009, -4/+17OMG ISI 1.0 has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths I cannot imagine any good coming with ISI 2.0. Damn you U.K have you not screwed India enough already.
- ortucis, on 10/03/2009, -3/+13He has license to blow himself up.
- ortucis, on 10/03/2009, -3/+11He's right. India has killed hundreds of thousands.. somewhere, so let's improve the terrorist organization called ISI and spread the love* even further.
*Now with improved bomber jackets. - tkcom, on 10/03/2009, -1/+5...and it shall be called T.E.T.R.A. Pak
- ortucis, on 10/03/2009, -3/+7Prakash, my man, press the shift key once in a while.
- Fellow Indian - SLuM, on 10/03/2009, -1/+5Do you have any proof that Musharraf still receives money and undermines the current government? Or is it just a crackpot theory?
- moxley, on 10/03/2009, -0/+4Okay...so the CIA basically having it's hooks pretty deeply into ISI wasn't enough - now MI5 wants some action too?
@swiftsurfere, @ymeg, neither of the scenarios either of you mention would surprise me. - themadrammer, on 10/03/2009, -5/+9Right, and India hasn't killed hundreds of thousands itself?
- ElGubrush, on 10/04/2009, -0/+4hey, CIA trained Afghanis to fight the Soviets and [redacted] NOTHING EVER WENT WRONG WITH IT
- Unexploded, on 10/04/2009, -0/+3Totally. Same with Saddam guy they hired a long time ago, I think he even made employee of the month a few times.
http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/CIAtimeline.html - appleseed1234, on 10/04/2009, -1/+4I hate to say it, but Pakistan is in the midst of a huge battle to avoid falling into the same state as it's Sharia law implementing Islamic Republic neighbors. With each year they gain strength within Pakistan. If a questionable, yet still relatively function government is what it takes, even if it means saying in hindsight that they were awful, I don't mind. The last thing we need is another hyperreligious ***** in the region with nukes, I prefer a secular Pakistan.
- pnvtejaswi, on 10/04/2009, -4/+7LOL what a *****!!! go read history and get you facts right.
A whole lot of westerns analysts concur with these facts:
1. Taliban was sponsored by and supported by ISI so it is responsible for all of the casualties of the current Afghan War.
2. Pakistan is the aggressor for all four wars with India.
3. Responsible for massacre of million Bangladeshis in 1971.
History points our Terror always bites back the instigator whether it is LTTE, ISI, Taliban, Al-Qaeda; India, Pakistan, USA and UK paid dearly for their sins. You reap what you sow; unfortunately we never learn the lesson and History Repeats Itself all over the world - Ireland, Palestine, Kashmir. - gkiltz, on 10/04/2009, -0/+2It's not a pleasant thing to think about, but EVERY country needs an effective way to spy on other countries that are at all likely to want to harm it.
That's reality.
The way things are now, I would follow the MI5 model before I would follow the CIA model. It does seem more effective and better able to target actual threats. It spends less time screwing around with people who really can't do much damage. - Lefts, on 10/04/2009, -1/+3Because Britain is just doing it to be nice?
Of course. - crashbang, on 10/03/2009, -1/+3I cannot imagine that the ISI is going to let this happen.
- joshua911, on 10/03/2009, -1/+3dude Musharraf accepted the fact that the weapons were mainly bought for war against India (if either of these countries starts one!)..but he also told that money would be used against Taliban if necessary..! get your facts right mr vats...lol rhymes with dumba**:P
- mabsark, on 10/04/2009, -0/+2Since when has the US had intelligence?
- nirvanix, on 10/03/2009, -2/+3Read "counter-terrorism" as oppressive police state.
- virtualonliner, on 10/03/2009, -3/+4Precisely. Apparently, ISI wasn't enough.
- diggdong, on 10/03/2009, -0/+1Yeah, good luck with that.
- toxtek, on 10/05/2009, -0/+1That will help finding Indian-funded Talibans in Pakistan. Moreover America is also concerned over growing Indian influence in Afghanistan, so this network will help reduce that.
- Tubal22, on 10/04/2009, -0/+1CIA is pulling out. None of them want Obama to send them to jail. Obama is the worst thing that ever happened to US intelligence.
- cfuse, on 10/04/2009, -1/+2I think if you look at this as an attempt to destabilise the region, then it makes perfect sense.
- moxley, on 10/04/2009, -1/+1Is that a trick question sir?
- Damietta, on 10/04/2009, -1/+1Did anyone else read the title link and immediately think of the Larry Niven books?
- Unexploded, on 10/04/2009, -1/+1"Damn you U.K have you not screwed India enough already."
Have you tried rebooting? - meachen, on 10/04/2009, -1/+1Project depopulation Paki exercise in full speed sir
- vats, on 10/03/2009, -7/+7Yes you said it rightly, even America is also helping Pakistan in the form of dollars, which is in fact misused by them. They use to purchase weapons for terrorists from that money, it is also accepted by the Ex-President Musharraf.
- jasonkruser, on 10/04/2009, -2/+1CIA helped Al-Qaida.....see the link?
- shinidoll, on 10/03/2009, -3/+2This is not going to end well (not only for the US and India but for the entire world)
- glaz, on 10/03/2009, -8/+6Sure. Letting a foreign intelligence service set up your own can only end in disaster. I can see it now:
MI5 Agent, "And if you'd just like to wear this special...intelligence hat."
Mohammed, "It appears to be buzzing."
MI5 Agent, "Those are just bees."
Mohammed, "Bees?"
MI5 Agent, "Intelligence bees. Please put on your camera."
Mohammed, "My camera?"
MI5 Agent, "I said HAT, dammnit!" - prakash1234, on 10/03/2009, -6/+3britain stop meddling their isi already plans and attacks india
- pstroll, on 10/03/2009, -12/+2I love Mythbusters and Discovery channel
