- wynja, on 10/10/2007, -3/+27These are the people our President wants to turn lose on American citizens in the name of the War on Drugs?!?!?
You thought it was bad when the corporations started buying politicians...... just wait until Blackwater starts assassinating politicians for trying to pull their funding. God Lord, I mean did no one read their Roman history? The establishment of and reliance on paramilitary forces always results in the death of an empire.
Bone voyage, Pax Americana, it's nice to know that the people will have no say in the future of this country.
Now slaves back to work. No reading Digg on company time!!!!! - ChazPSE, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17The video is at Newsweek

- wynja, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12All news sources can produce good journalism. Maybe you should do some fact checking before hating on any one news outlet.
- EntropyMan, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10You need to look up the definition of Yellow Journalism, son. That would be Fox News, beating the drums for war.
Besides, see that AFP logo at the top? That's where the text came from. Raw Story is more of a syndication outlet than a producer of news stories. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10blackwater is evil, useless mercs preying on the chaos of war to make a profit!
what a bunch of shetheads - nblsavage, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9yeah...why would a bunch of ruthless mercs with no loyalty except to their company fire on civilians.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6What about the New Years Day Massacare? Blackwater guards on January 1 of this year held a party in Baghdad. After getting drunk they started to open fire at anything the moved from the their windows. There were opening fire on large crowds of civilians who were shopping. That video is really sick one of the video clip show a kid machined gun to what looked like some animal that was butchered. It was shown in China and alot of the Chineese websites had them up. Too bad they managed to censor it from the Americans.
- nblsavage, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7"it would be real easy for insurgents to threaten the police officers family or insurgents working as police officers to plant false evidence"
Talk about not being objective. - ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Giving Blackwater immunity to local jurisdiction has to be a violation of either US or Iraqi law....
- azAZ09, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Raw Story -- Dugg up!
- BelXul, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Investigations take time. You may have to wait a while for one of any kind to be concluded.
- EntropyMan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4The FBI is going in to investigate Blackwater over this. I feel so much better now.
- Lyanto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why does the fact that you're a liberal matter at all? At best, it just makes you look like a fool who thinks saying so will keep people from criticizing you.
- BelXul, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3It's too bad that CNN decided to play the same 20 second clip over and over again. I'd have liked to see the entire 9 minute video they were talking about.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's what happened to Germany right before WW2. That and they also had a crisis where immediately days after they passed sketchy laws giving the government special emergency powers not unlike the patriot act..
- EarlOfLade, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4This is what you get when you use mercenaries. Disgusting, but typical US crap.
- digbird, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2All this news story does is put forward the claims of the Iraqi police and show a video tape of the aftermath which could be consistent with either version of events (Blackwater's or the Iraqis).
One thing that I do think is significant is that the police force in question is the "National Police force." This is the police force that was found to be so corrupt and so heavily infiltrated by Shi'ite militias that the Independent Commission on Security Forces in Iraq recommended that it be disbanded (see this news story below)
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/09/05/iraq.jones. ...
Frankly, I think that the fact that the National Police force has such a terrible reputation, I wouldn't exactly take to the bank any claim that it might put forward. I can't help but note the fact that some people on Digg have once again seized on a news story that reinforces their preexisting biases and accepted it without question because it is expedient to do so. How is that different from supposedly "cherry-picking" intelligence about Iraq that led to the conclusion that there were WMDs there?
Oh, wait, I know the answer..."cherry picking" can only be done by the side people oppose. It can't ever be committed by the side people are on. - stroupnp, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Name one what?
- stroupnp, on 10/10/2007, -5/+6War crimes *****! Hang these ***** from the highest tree.
.... might as well do it to the president too. - EarlOfLade, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1They are mercenaries or using a US name, enemy combatants
- ZenMojo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2...Especially if no one has any jurisdiction over them...that would be suicide!!!
- stroupnp, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I don't doubt for a second that they would come for someone calling for accountability and credibility.
- fixedcoma, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1FIRST THEY LIE AND SAY THEY ARE not selling our weapons illegally over they, which two members of their organization were, and now constant ***** of trying to bring freedom and democracy to Iraq by destroying everything in their country and shooting many innocent human beings! As Charlie Sheen put it in Platoon," They are human beings, man! Human beings..."

Just a security force whose based on conservative morals, based in SC, and practices bad is asking for trouble. Oh and the no bid contracts used for Blackwater.
- Sinudeity, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Blackwater is the future of US security... Barcodes on foreheads anyone? :)

- Xanadude, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2You have been reported to the Secret Service for making a threat against the President. (http://www.secretservice.gov/contact.shtml) Yes, really.
- Xanadude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1p.s. Ease up, I'm trolling.
- halfkorean, on 10/10/2007, -4/+3How sure are we that these victims are all "civilians" and not insurgents? How trustworthy are the Iraqi police. The video shows the aftermath and not the actual incident. Remember that their is always three sides to every story: The Iraqis, Backwater, and then the truth. All in all, get everyone the hell out of Iraq and close this terrible chapter in US foreign policy.
- Xanadude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Name one.
- secion8, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Make your facts off of that video footage and a couple iraqi police and, you, Sir, Are a Retard!
- JAVandiver, on 10/10/2007, -10/+2Raw Story does not produce good journalism. Al-Alam (Iranian state-run news) is far less guilty of Yellow Journalism. Anyone who believes otherwise is completely delusional.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -15/+6Until I see a neutral investigation I am gonna call BS on this story.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -16/+7And who is to say the police are telling the whole truth, it would be real easy for insurgents to threaten the police officers family or insurgents working as police officers to plant false evidence, and statements. With Blackwater out of the picture it would give the insurgents a huge advantage, and spread US forces thin I am not saying it did not happen but would like a neutral investigation no US or Iraqi investigation maybe the UN or someone.
Im a liberal. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -11/+1Lets not even look at this objectively America screw up again so it must be true you are just as bad as the !2% that approves of Bush sheep
