- Maddoktor2, on 06/06/2009, -38/+392Dear Republican Party,
Thanks once again for the gift of O'Reilly.
Please keep the Limbaughs, Hannitys, Becks, Malkins and Coulters coming - we really appreciate it.
Love,
The Democrat Party - inactive, on 06/06/2009, -24/+270You gotta love how Bill tries to call out CNN because he falsely claims they don't cover the news even though they call the network a news channel -- as the Fox News logo spins at the bottom of the screen.
O'Reilly falsely decrying a news channel on a news channel.
Please -- conservatives -- stop watching this guy! He is making a ridiculously large living at this! - irkalla, on 06/07/2009, -15/+146Oh, come on. Does anyone here honestly think O'Reilly gives a damn about facts, reality, or unbiased reporting?
- xt0xicx, on 06/07/2009, -5/+116You can say *****, i won't tell your mother.
- cr4ft, on 06/07/2009, -14/+122It's not Bill Oreilly that worries me, anyone with an IQ above12 knows he's a dolt with a camera on him, it's his moron viewers (and those who also watch Hannity, Fox & Friends, etc) that worry me, these idiots actually take everything these imbeciles say seriously
- teamtom, on 06/07/2009, -16/+115Once O'Reilly "settled" his court case, he lost any and all credibility.
- libbb, on 06/07/2009, -32/+129F\/CK BILL O'REILLY
- Snoop Dogg - Choobie, on 06/07/2009, -11/+97My uncle loves Bill O'Reilly. I am having difficulty living in the same house as him. Two more months to head back to college, first time I have been overly excited.
- badfish0116, on 06/07/2009, -7/+65snoop speaks latin?
- roxgod666, on 06/07/2009, -7/+60Holy *****, you can't even spell douche right.
- cr4ft, on 06/07/2009, -9/+59I love how these idiots on the right (with names almost always being something related to 'truth', 'patriot', 'philosopher', etc) get upset when left-leaning websites post articles that actually have evidence behind them.
Note to moron: This isn't Faux News or WorldNetDaily that simply assert something with no evidence, here we have video evidence backing up the claims that Oreilly is a lying scumbag - malex, on 06/07/2009, -9/+52Jetboy, if you have any stories about Olbermann, Maddow, or Matthews blatantly lying to the viewer audience, by all means submit a story, and we can discuss it in depth.
Oh, wait... what's that sound...
You guys are going to have to drop the False Equivalence fallacy. There's more going on here than one guy on "your side" and another on "my side." There is a deliberate and systematic pattern of FOX News pundits distorting and misrepresenting fact, and nobody with any integrity should find that acceptable. - defektiv, on 06/07/2009, -4/+46To my great shock, Bill'o actually admitted he was wrong.. kind of. Despite him still trying to back-peddle out of apology sounding dialog, it's kind of weird actually hearing him say, "I was wrong."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_pscalq-5c - Maddoktor2, on 06/07/2009, -1/+41Yep, and in doing so, they also inadvertently renamed themselves the "Republican Fascist Party".
Go figure... - inactive, on 06/07/2009, -9/+45@PacoLugi
Nice baiting, troll. But he doesn't make me crazy. I understand his motivations -- money. He'll say anything Rupert wants him to for money.
What makes me crazy is ***** that back him up out of complete and utter ignorance. Are you one of those? *****, I mean? - pintomp3, on 06/07/2009, -7/+43He says a lot of things that aren't true.
- teamgwho, on 06/07/2009, -5/+38what a douche.
1) Billo says "a snide surly guy" pointed out my mistake. When someone catches you in a ***** up, says so with some class. When you preface it by being condescending to the guy who pointed out that you don't know wtf you're talking about, it undercuts your apology.
2) when you apologize, don't try to then explain why you weren't really wrong. "I was refering to prime time." !!!!!!!!!! Dude. if you're wrong, just say it, admit you made a mistake and be done. It's immatury and thin-skinned reactions that make people say "lighten up francis" - arcangelgabriel, on 06/07/2009, -12/+45I love how Bill doesn't know is ass from his elbow.
- inactive, on 06/07/2009, -3/+33@jetboyterp - I said nothing about FOX News' partisanship. This is about creating falsehoods to incite people to hatred. I don't really care if there are those who don't think like me.
And if you show the proof about Olbermann spreading lies, go right ahead. I'm not a huge fan of his rhetoric, but I do agree with his positions (usually, not always). Show that he's lying.
But something tells me you won't because you're just like Bill O'Reilly. You'll just say something and assume it's truth because it's what you think -- not what it is. And that, sir, is delusional. - rabidjester, on 06/07/2009, -12/+42And that, folks, is how you deflect like a pro!
Well played, sir! - manlyandy, on 06/07/2009, -9/+38Lol. All you have is some actors nobody listens to, a guy I've never heard of and Olbermann who has nowhere near the viewers or readers as any of the republicans listed?
And diversity of opinion is fine and welcome. Lying is shameful and damages your own party. You should be the first to denounce it. - manlyandy, on 06/07/2009, -5/+331) If you are saying people on Digg represent anything but people on Digg then you are stretching.
2) O'Reilly couldn't even admit to being wrong without lying as he claimed he should have specified "primetime" when he specifically said "all day long." That's like saying I slept ALL DAY LONG between the hours of 2am and 8am.
3) Interpretation of facts is subjective while ignoring facts is unmistakably incorrect.
4)The cool thing about having a wide variety of opinions in a political party is that people like Garofalo can have her opinion and others can share that opinion or not and get another point of view somewhere else. We do not have one type of Democrat in the media. Conservatives suffer from a lack of diversity of opinions in the media. Everyone is saying the same thing. It is not beneficial to your party. - cr4ft, on 06/07/2009, -5/+32That makes zero sense whatsoever, that's like insulting a Jew for being upset at what Hilter did despite him being dead
You conservatives are morons of epic proportions - dkmango, on 06/07/2009, -10/+36The worst part is that people who watch O'Reilly's show will never see this and know that he lied. They'll keep thinking that CNN and everyone other than Fox is garbage.
- deathandtaverns, on 06/07/2009, -3/+26I guess Bill does not
- malex, on 06/07/2009, -4/+27No, I think pintomp3 was right the first time.
If you don't believe him, perhaps you should consult Google. - Gravix, on 06/07/2009, -4/+26Fail troll has failed. /facepalm
- manlyandy, on 06/07/2009, -3/+25I like how he says he meant primetime but in his quote he specifically says "all day long."
- EricSchC1, on 06/07/2009, -12/+343rd trimester abortions happen when the health of the mother and the psychological/emotional/financial stability of the family is grossly jeopardized by the pregnancy. Just because you think "god" doesn't make mistakes, doesn't make it so. If you think anyone who becomes pregnant should have to endure the risks of birthing and raising a child, regardless the adverse circumstance, its no wonder we as a country are financially and psychologically bankrupt. Maybe you've never known or seen an experience like that, but that doesn't give you the right to be an un-feeling, inhumane and apathetic piece of ***** to the parties who the parties who already most definitely have lives of their own to consider. Also, where do you see the moral superiority in killing a "killer"? Or are you also that ignorant to not see any hypocrisy?
You and people like Bill O'Reilly are the last types of people worthy of voicing a "moral" opinion on the matter, when you advocate murder as a means to combat what amounts to medical necessity. - sonofabiscuit, on 06/07/2009, -4/+25I know several people who swear by Fox News and watch nothing else. Then they try to debate topics based on the "facts" they get from the channel, and think they're smarter than the people who watch the so-called "liberal" networks.
It's ***** sickening. - EricSchC1, on 06/07/2009, -4/+23He had none before then as well. A credible man wouldn't have had to go to court in the first place.
- durruticolumn, on 09/18/2009, -9/+28
"Well Olbermann, Garafalo and Moulitsas"
Call me when the head of the DNC calls up to personally apologize to any of them, and then we'll have a discussion. - SSPink, on 06/07/2009, -7/+26Was the soldier nationally famous before he was killed as well? Did he have his own hateful little nickname repeated ad nauseum by the Bill Os of the world?
- kurotenshi, on 06/07/2009, -4/+22I think the word you are looking for is intelligentsia.
- kingnova, on 06/07/2009, -4/+21He couldn't even APOLOGIZE like a man. He has to call the CNN reporters names first. The dude has no class.
- toddcat, on 06/07/2009, -2/+19Thing is, this shouldn't be a partisan thing. FOX is bad for DEMOCRACY. They willfully lie, mislead, misrepresent, in the interests of making money. And I don't know if you hadn't noticed, but the Democratic party isn't particularly principled or popular right now either.
- rabidjester, on 06/07/2009, -5/+21Protip: Don't use expressions if you aren't sure what they mean.
- Sil369, on 06/07/2009, -2/+18F∩CK
- MScrip, on 06/07/2009, -3/+18O'Reilly must know that CNN has tapes that they can refer back to.
I love how Rick Sanchez spend 4 minutes showing how wrong O'Reilly was, and the CNN tape department put together a package of a dozen confirming how wrong he was.
Don't criticize your competitors, O'Reilly, when they have ample resources to prove you wrong. - inactive, on 06/07/2009, -2/+16In addition to requesting, as Keith Olbermann suggested, that the channel be changed (at restaurants, etc.) from Faux "News" to some other channel, there's another powerful technique.
CALL YOUR LOCAL FAUX-AFFILIATED STATION and tell them you're going to stop watching their station AS OF TODAY due to the lies and smears from their network. You might mention the murder of Dr. Tiller and/or the Dick Cheney torture-explanations tour that they've been helping to promote.
Let your local Faux station know that you're not watching them any more (no Simpsons, no football/baseball/etc. when it's on Fox, no Idol, etc.) until Faux stops spreading lies and hate.
If each of their affiliated stations got just 25 calls per day, there would be some changes at Fox, or at the very least, some major uproar within the organization as to how they should respond.
If you want, you could also mention the "Obama as ape" cartoon that was printed recently in their hidesous rag known as the *New York Post.*
Also, be sure your friends/family know that Fox/NewsCorp also owns Myspace and the Wall Street Journal... so, they might want to choose any alternatives to patronize. - dagamer34, on 06/07/2009, -12/+26At least they attempt to use facts on occasion. That's enough for most people.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 06/07/2009, -2/+16As usual solid12345 is being a conservative apologist.
For the record, O'Reilly's non-apology excuse about "should have specified prime time" was weak and did nothing to bolster his credibility about where it currently lies, zero. - robmilmel, on 06/07/2009, -8/+22You forget Matthews' quips about Romney? "Shoulders you can land a 747 on"? "Looks so Presidential"? "Smells great?"
Matthews is a bipartisan man-crushed hack. - crazytucker, on 06/07/2009, -8/+22I actually watched this episode of his show, it was terrible. He was VERY PERSISTENCE about linking the so-called "crappy" reporting of CNN and the military shooting to be equal "terrorism" to that of the death of Tiller and how it is no different. Later in the show he tries to connect the beating of the rapist by a community to be "terrorism" equal to Tiller's death. But is served his purpose he spun "his" side of the story to his loyal viewers and that is all he was attempting. Seemed all like a ploy to attempt to keep viewers =/.
- ultar6, on 06/07/2009, -2/+16Love the gratuitous HuffPo slam. Surprised I didn't see it higher up in the comments.
Since the facts of this piece are not in question, it doesn't matter where it came from.
I'd say that HuffPo is to conservatives as Fox is to liberals, but that would give Fox too much credit for accuracy in their reporting and commentary. - phosphor112, on 06/07/2009, -1/+15F intersecting CK...hmmm
- SSPink, on 06/07/2009, -2/+16I know this is pointless but I'm going to do it anyway.
The reason one got covered more than the other is one was controversial and the other was not.
Depending on who you asked the murder of Dr. Tiller was either:
1. The tragic murder of a man providing a service to women with severe problems with their pregnancies and who had no where else to turn or...
2. Righteous justice against a mass child murderer who needed to be stopped.
The murder of Pvt Long was a senseless tragedy perpetrated by someone who was either deeply disturbed or simply evil no matter whom you ask.
Right or wrong, controversy sells, it's what drives ratings, and the media covers stories that are controversial, then they cover the controversy, then they cover the coverage of the controversy. The TV news media likes nothing more than when they can put two people with differing opinions split screen to argue, it's what draws eyeballs.
You wanted your explanation, there it is. It isn't anything sexy like bias or agenda, it's just plain old capitalism, pure and simple.
P.S. Obama did release a statement about Pvt. Long: “I am deeply saddened by this senseless act of violence against two brave young soldiers who were doing their part to strengthen our armed forces and keep our country safe. I would like to wish Quinton Ezeagwula a speedy recovery, and to offer my condolences and prayers to William Long’s family as they mourn the loss of their son.”
So... yeah, I don't know where you got the "Obama didn't say anything about the Army recruiter" talking point, but it's simply not true. - Maddoktor2, on 06/07/2009, -4/+17"A doctor was murdered by an extremist."
Open and shut case - no complications. Comment is appropriate.
"A soldier was murdered by a home-grown terrorist who trained in Yemen."
Ongoing FBI Investigation. National security issue. International implications.
Very complicated case. Comment is not appropriate at this time.
Unlike Bush with his infamous "Mission Accomplished", Obama waits untill he has all the facts to work with and then comments.
Your argument is baseless. - Trusix, on 06/07/2009, -4/+17Yeah because snoop dogg is my intellectual idol.
- MScrip, on 06/07/2009, -0/+13>> "Since the facts of this piece are not in question, it doesn't matter where it came from."
Exactly.
The Rick Sanchez videoclip was directly from CNN... so it really doesn't matter if it was embedded on HuffPo. -
