More disturbingly, the escalating number of birth defects in children include cleft palates, webbed feet and hands, twisted limbs, brain damage and heart problems.
It is always a possibility that this type of disaster will happen again, with the availability of so much cheap labor in places such as India and China, and with no regulations regarding safety. The exploitation of the world's poor results in such atrocities as this.
