- SeaMowse, on 09/20/2008, -1/+1Yes - indeed the 'Newbie Digger' is just that: A 'newbie':
"Digg is a social bookmarking service where you submit links."
No. Digg users submit articles, images, videos that they find of interest to share with others. Technically, maybe they submit 'links', but ultimately, Digg members submit content they find interesting enough to post on Digg.
"Apparently, only a miniscule portion of the submissions appear on the frontpage and that are also submitted by a very small majority of an alleged ‘Elite Digger Ring’."
Can you provide proof (i.e. screen shots)? The new algorithm that Digg implemented recently has changed all that. ('a very small majority' - is an oxymoron.)
"There are a million visitors on Digg daily..."
Did you do research on this? While it is possible, I was just curious - since you're giving a ballpark figure by saying 'a million'.
"...as with every ‘big money thing’ there is always a black game where without the help of the institution that is concerned you can’t make money, as is the matter with the fraudulent Establishment."
Such conduct is not tolerated on Digg and members who do so will be permanently banned... and have been banned. If you read the TOS, it's spelled out very clearly.
"It is alleged that Kevin Rose is allied with a select few Diggers and that constitute the ‘Elite Digger Ring’. As you can understand it is a matter of ‘big money’, nothing can be impossible."
What source(s) did you receive this information from? 'Elite Digger Ring' - can you cite examples? What members are in this ring? Would any of the 'Elite' be members who have been recently banned? So much for the theory that Kevin Rose is 'allied with a few select Diggers'. And as previously mentioned earlier, Digg has changed the algorithm to make sure that ALL Digg members have an equal opportunity go make the Front Page.
"It is apparent that Diggers like MrBabymen, Msaleem and a few others have Dugged a gigantic amount and sometimes they Digg so quickly that you will be baffled. But their accounts are not banned..."
It's possible that the amount of submissions and comments left might be factored in to the Digg Staff's determination in the recent bannings of Digg members. I'm not certain, but it's definitely possible. There are several 'top users' who were banned - who ranked right up there with MrBabyMan, Msaleem, etc., so I believe that puts to rest your theory.
"...They also had banned Zaibastu. He was the only guy who noticed me in the sea of Diggs, made me a friend and Dugg my first article. This is indeed very bad."
Zaibatsu (CORRECT SPELLING) was not banned for the same reason (script) as the others. As a matter of fact, it's currently not a perma-ban. There may or may not be an article on Digg or it might be mentioned in one of the 'Digg Ban' article comments that addresses that fact.
"What’s bad in using scripts, if it can save your time?.."
I have no idea... I have no idea of what a 'script' is, actually. I am not a tech geek like many Diggers on this site. I think there are a good number of submissions that go into it in detail, but I still don't completely 'get' it.
I'm sorry that the 'newbie' who wrote this article was banned - really, I am. But most of what this person wrote is written by somebody who wasn't around on Digg very long and is not accurate. Best of luck to this person.

What is Digg?
