- TheOther1, on 11/22/2008, -8/+116Each of those involved should be slowly fed through a wood chipper. Feet first.
- inactive, on 04/03/2009, -0/+87"Two brothers, Michael and Wiremu Curtis, were convicted of murdering Nia while the girl's mother, 35-year-old mother Lisa Kuka, was found guilty of failing to seek medical attention for the child and failing to protect her from violence."
Could there possibly be enough punishment...? - Link459, on 11/22/2008, -1/+80How could anyone do such a thing? How can you be such a sick ***** to ever consider doing such horrible things to something so small helpless?
- imasuperDOTcom, on 11/22/2008, -39/+110you know, I really do feel a tremendous amount of emotion when reading this articles like this.
But I have to say, what possesses people to always post the same comments? Inevitably, the first 25 comments are a bunch of people using countless strings of expletives to describe their "Mother ****ing disgust WTFBBQ".
And when it's not a person competing to see who can create the longest profanity-laced rant on the evils of child abuse, it's the people who are trying to come up with the most interesting and sadistic ways to punish or hurt the criminals involved.
And then of course the rare, third commentor type: Then sensitive soul who posts a 1-2 line comment regarding how deeply saddened they are by the sorrowful and tragic event, and you know, how their heart goes out to the families involved and what not.
I love you digg, but sometimes the redundancy hurts my brain. - mikethesecond, on 11/23/2008, -14/+56WTF do you want people to say by way of reaction to something as monstrous as this?
No seriously, I am asking you, imasuperDOTcom, since you feel people's answers thus far aren't up to your ***** standards. Please, enlighten us with examples how we should react for the next one. - lordspidey, on 11/22/2008, -4/+43Sick *****.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -7/+40Before calling them pieces of ***** consider the feelings of *****.
- seltaeb4, on 11/23/2008, -2/+35Pretty disturbing as to how thoroughly you seem to have thought this through...
- brickbat, on 11/23/2008, -1/+29You know how they say "Never Judge a book by it's cover." Well, sometimes you can. Those guys look like *****.
- budgeysmuggler, on 11/23/2008, -1/+27Unfortunately this child came from family with a history of poor education welfare dependency and drug use. And obviously violence too. She didn't really stand a chance.
- kleash, on 11/23/2008, -2/+23May she R.I.P..
- artfiend77, on 11/23/2008, -1/+21I like the cut of your jib, kid. You got spunk.
- ncapone, on 11/22/2008, -3/+21What the hell? What was going through their minds when they did this *****? Absolutely horrific.
- bharadwajharish, on 11/23/2008, -4/+22is this for Real? Jail inmates pls take care of these idiots.
- DrLeePhD, on 11/23/2008, -1/+18when there's an actual dead baby, it's an especially terrible time for a dead-baby joke.
please be human and at least pretend you're bothered by this.
It's not *****' funny. - supermanly, on 11/22/2008, -2/+19You're missing the replies to the sensitive comments calling the commenter
a) a pussy or
b) someone who couldn't have known the affected party, cannot know how it feels like, etc.
But what do you expect, these all have the same general effect because none of us diggers know the affected party. And if there are diggers that do, they're gonna be grieving not commenting. - inactive, on 11/23/2008, -2/+19you can't be serious, if so, die please
- mikethesecond, on 11/23/2008, -6/+22death is too good for them.
- inactive, on 11/22/2008, -3/+17With that many adults witnessing this, you think one of them would have had a conscience? How could one family harbor so many sick individuals?
- inactive, on 11/23/2008, -1/+15***** has a purpose in life. These sick ***** don't
- MAGZine, on 11/23/2008, -3/+16What are you looking for instead?
"Ha. ***** child got what she deserved! YOU'RE IN THE GROUND NOW KID. SHOULD HAVE STOPPED TEETHING WHEN YOU WERE TOLD."
Seriously. And besides, the point about Digg isn't the comments, it's about the story. People's natural reaction (if they have any compassion) will be of the 'my heart goes out to the family', or some sort of rage in disgust. - inactive, on 11/23/2008, -5/+18I have to say, she probably is better of dead. I mean before she died they put her in a dryer? WTF? If she wouldn't have died the abuse would only have continued and from all the emotional scarring she would never be able to lead a normal life.
- B5tKUnT1, on 11/23/2008, -1/+14"final fatal blow"...
Is there such a thing as a first, second or third fatal blow?
How many times can one die? - chuckDontSurf, on 11/23/2008, -0/+13http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7734932.st ...
- Alphonze, on 11/23/2008, -1/+13Not better off dead though.... too bad it wasn't found out about sooner so she could have been taken away from them. I feel so bad for her, just considering I had a son recently and I can't even imagine what I'd do if I lost him.
- TaintedWisdom, on 11/23/2008, -1/+13That is really disturbing.
If this is indeed from that movie (which I have avoided so far cause I heard some rumors of people ending up traumatized after watching it) then that's just crazy. - muffcakes, on 11/23/2008, -0/+11When a fetus is the size of a peanut I doubt the developing clump of nerve tissue it has for brain is equal to the brain of a three year old in its ability to be self aware.
The link between consciousness and brain are clearly observable. We should avoid abortions and keep them early in the term of the pregnancies for the sake of the developing individual and because we can't be sure what degree of consciousness is present at a given stage. On the other hand we also need to consider the rights of the mother to apply her judgment regarding her body and life. - Slackdragon, on 11/23/2008, -2/+13I can't even put words together to express how angry news like this makes me.
- pikelet, on 11/23/2008, -1/+11You know what was sick? The laywer for the guys who were convicted argued that the one who kicked her in the head wasn't responsible for her murder because he didn't intend to kill her and had no idea kicking a three year old in the head could harm the child.
***** scum. - RobotJox, on 11/23/2008, -0/+10as a Father of a toddler this sickens me to the bones - it's actually something I heard reported a few days ago and I haven't been able to shake it.
I don't believe in the death penalty at all, but I would probably have to struggle to not attack these people if they were in the same room as me.
I think we all know that humans are capable of doing horrific things to each other - just look what wars bring out in people. Children are killed and even tortured more than any one of us wish to know.
Punishment will not undo this atrocity. It will not make anything better - it will only serve as an illusion of justice.
There is only one way to prevent this stuff from happening - if you want to change the world start with yourself and then start changing the world. Don't expect your government to protect you or anyone else - in the end apathy is what we should be fighting.
If you see somebody who needs help - take responsibility and help them. - mlwarrior, on 11/23/2008, -4/+13Nope. Just came up with that like poetry. The movie is a PG version of my thoughts.
When I have a bad dream, it's far less disturbing than what I wrote.
Then again, I am a professional virus (human virus) engineer. - DismantleRepair, on 11/23/2008, -0/+9The article is surprisingly accurate for a Daily Mail story. I'm a New Zealander and have been watching the case unfold, and it is as sick and tragic as people here have commented.
The baby was abused and tortured to death, in an environment which condoned such behaviour. - dlan4327, on 11/23/2008, -0/+8The title alone depressed me.
- Mujokan, on 11/23/2008, -0/+8It can be a final blow without being fatal, and a fatal blow without being final.
- cyberwired, on 11/23/2008, -1/+9As a New Zealander I wish we would adopt the eye for an eye option
I am tempted to say that I wish these would die and I hope they are put in clothes dryers and swung on clothes lines, unfortunately I know it will not happen.
I am comforted and can sleep at night though....knowing that in prison here child abuse is looked upon with disgust. I am happy to say that I believe they were 'treated' to before they were even convicted properly and, what becomes of the broken hearted will be a whole lot worse.
I don't wish death for them, death is too sweet, one cannot do these things to a child its inhumane and there is no place in society for animals like these...even animals don't torture actually, they put meaning to the word monster, the things I'd like to do to them in the name of that poor girl...
No child should ever suffer the way some do in this world
If you see a child suffering, speak up, don't hold back like gutless individuals who lived next to them quoted as saying that they thought a baby swung on a clothes line was normal domestic abuse.....f k that - mackiwi, on 11/23/2008, -0/+8this is very much real... has been front page news in NZ for some time...
- rdwinder, on 11/23/2008, -2/+10there's a special place in hell for individuals like this!! may Nia Glassie R.I.P
- artfiend77, on 11/23/2008, -0/+8It's times like this that I wish there was a Hell. These ***** are going to have a VERY hard time when they get their asses locked up.
- joshuajudah, on 11/23/2008, -1/+9Even the thought of someone doing this is disgusting.
...
...
R.I.P. - mackiwi, on 11/23/2008, -1/+8I am a new zalander, and this incident was horrible and sick.
unfortunately 1000s of kids in africa suffer rape and murder everyday - and it never makes the front page of digg....
just saying. - IndigoMoss, on 11/23/2008, -3/+10Jesus Christ.
- ZincSaucier, on 11/23/2008, -1/+8but not quickly enough
- DrLeePhD, on 11/23/2008, -2/+9you sick *****.
I hope someone kick you to death. in the balls. - Spliced88, on 11/23/2008, -0/+7=(
- Savagebeef, on 11/23/2008, -4/+11I think this is a pretty convincing argument for the death penalty.
- SmilinJoe, on 11/22/2008, -3/+10***** sick!
- DrewPeacock, on 11/23/2008, -0/+6"I'm sorry, you don't have a license. We're going to have to carve that foetus out of your stomach and dispose of it."
- kuetips, on 11/23/2008, -1/+7wtf!? seriously?
