CRITICAL HIT
the attack is super effective - sonar1, on 11/11/2008, -2/+24breaking? that ***** happened yesterday.
- Trekhawk, on 11/10/2008, -4/+20Since there aren't any casualties reported I feel alright saying this. That's a punny use of the "BREAKING" headline.
- NixiePixel, on 11/10/2008, -2/+15Bu hao. =(
- Yookji, on 11/11/2008, -1/+11不好!
- DaviDTC, on 11/11/2008, -0/+10That is why you don't use breaking in a digg headline.
- xaera, on 11/11/2008, -1/+9That's what she said.
- LuckySephid, on 11/11/2008, -1/+9thats japanese you *****
- DigSomeMore, on 11/10/2008, -3/+10That's a big one...never seems to let up over there does it?
- buddysystem, on 11/11/2008, -2/+8Surely this was god punishing the people of China for the economic ideals of their ruling class. *****.
- fenixconnektion, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5哎呀!!!!
- skippy562, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5still waiting for the big one right here in L.A.
- Dundasbro, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4At least try to be funny when you're being racist.
- ButterLoyalist, on 11/11/2008, -5/+9Blocked, Buried, and Reported.
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -2/+5What's shaking?
- ElGubrush, on 11/11/2008, -4/+7All we can do is hope and pray that none get hurt.
that and DONATE TO THE RED CROSS - SidewinderX2, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3more like zao gao :/
- Brian994, on 11/11/2008, -1/+4Big deal. Earthquakes of this magnitude happen every day - http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/
- Nosyn, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2Yes, yes you do my friend.
- InTheBurbs, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2I think in this case its "breaking" in the literal sense of the word.
- ElGubrush, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2Haven't we learned enough from Katrina to know a government and its aid are not so soon separated?
- ChubbyCheese, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2Not really breaking. I found out about that in my 11:00 Geo. class.
- IphtashuFitz, on 11/11/2008, -1/+3There aren't any casualties reported YET. It's apparently in a rather remote part of China, which means buildings likely aren't built to withstand earthquakes, which means it's likely injury reports will start coming out as soon as help can get into the affected areas.
- SouthsideIrish, on 11/11/2008, -3/+4BREAKING! One day ago is breaking?
- cookiemonster01, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1OOOOO I get it. That's how americans think chinese people talk. Dugg for accuracy.
- Poblasai, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1According to Wikipedia, 6.5 quakes happen about once every 3 days (120 time a year).
Only particularly dangerous if the epicenter is in a metropolitan area. - Nitescape, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1
Seems like more earthquakes in the past few years than I remember in a long time.
Is there some data somewhere that we could look at for stuff like this? - cookiemonster01, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1I don't expect you to know what china is like since you've never lived there. But the average citizen lives a relatively normal life. Similar to what you or I would live.
And trust me, the average chinese citizen is not oblivious to what goes on in this world. - blueskydiver76, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1did it happen yesterday or tomorrow....which side of the dateline does china fall on compared to the US?
- TheFamousOne2, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2Did anyone else pick up the ironic pun in this articles title? hehe...
- TimDigg, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richter_magnitude_sca ...
A richter scale for those like me who didn't understand a 6.5 - DeadPlasmaCell, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1Another fine lesson brought to you by J. Walter Weatherman.
- amenhotep, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1If Jesus would retaliate the Chinese for not believing him by deadly earthquakes, I'd say ***** him.
- NCSD, on 11/12/2008, -0/+1No causalties? Whatever, as long as it destroyed something, I'll take what I can get
- h3xZ, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2@iph.. whatever... talk about a negative nancy...
- MyDiggIsBig, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2Sure you put Breaking, but at least you didn't do what i did on my first Digg submission. (with my now deleted account)

"Major Earthquake hits Japan. (happened 10 minutes ago, not on the news yet"
but hey, it did make it to the front page right as other news sites picked up the story. And was top of the day. :)
today people would be much harsher on me for that title i bet. - MikeMania, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1oh noes!!
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1Never use the word "Ironic" again.
- analogkid01, on 11/11/2008, -3/+4Is it significant only if it happens to someone you know? I can point to about a billion people to whom this is pretty damn significant.
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -0/+1There is no casualties but there are loss of property and for any nation rich or poor, this is really bad for her.
- youannoyme, on 11/11/2008, -1/+2"remote northwest china"
Yup. A Billion... - wonderchemist, on 11/11/2008, -1/+1I'm pretty sure it was a US atomic test that went bad.
- jsdratm, on 11/11/2008, -2/+2Wasn't this yesterday? Breaking? lol
- RCTucker, on 12/15/2008, -0/+0A way to predict these high magnitude quakes really needs to be found. I don't care much about the property damage but it would be nice to save lives, especially the children. I found an interesting website about earthquake prediction by monitoring electromagnetic signals. You can learn all about their plans and current research at www.quakefinder.com
- CATSCEO2, on 11/11/2008, -3/+3These comments suck.
- JerzyBricklayr, on 11/11/2008, -1/+1lol
- IphtashuFitz, on 11/11/2008, -4/+4Another one? Man I'm starting to feel bad for China with all these earthquakes they've been having recently...
- Swarms, on 11/11/2008, -2/+2Wasn't it breaking hours and hours ago? No, no it wasn't.
