Cuz cash rules everything around you, CREAM. Get the money, DOLLA DOLLA BILL YA'LL! - BrainInAJar, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Yes, it does... otherwise 15th and 16th century Catholicism wouldn't be a religion. I'll not comment on the modern church

- aliengoods, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5Swift, I'm not sure why you're getting dugg down. Just because Scientologists call themselves a religion doesn't mean everyone else has to agree. To top it off, there are countries which expressly don't recognize Scientology as being a religion. The UK is one of them.
Do I now have to call Heavens Gate a religion, instead of a cult?- Slovenian6474, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Heavens Gate is a religious cult. Cult: adherents of an exclusive system of religious beliefs and practices. Cults are a religion but they're smaller in size and usually a "fad".
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -2/+8It is not a religion. It is a mafia-wannabe corporation for profit.
- etardo, on 04/16/2008, -0/+59LOL, thanks Scientology!
- unicronband, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8Whatever, we can win our coveted spot back. We just have to start charging people money to learn that the Mystical Bearded Wizard in the Sky isn't real. Then we intimidate and threaten anyone who disagrees with us and force our fellow atheists to cut off all contact with their loved ones. After that we get everybody some spiffy sailor uniforms and put them on a boat for a billion years while our lawyers sue people who tell others god isn't real without proper "spiritual training" (i.e. assloads of cash money) so we can finance our criminal activities and lavish treatment for our celebrity followers.
Also, thetans. - romistrub, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Those are my sentiments exactly! I can't decide whether I'm happy that Scientologists are hated, or incredibly sad that atheists are, too. Someone make the decision for me, please.
- sparkleyflowers, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Eh... I don't mind that Atheists are hated. Much like homophobes are afraid they might turn gay because they have some sort of curiosity deep down inside, people who hate Atheists are afraid because on some level they think we might be right... but are too afraid to "come out of the closet" for fear of rejection.

- SteelChicken, on 04/17/2008, -9/+25no, just the atheists tendency to call people of faith "stupid" (see the comment right above yours)
in fact I find atheists to be far more judgmental and confrontational than any other religious group ive ever had contact with. except of course, scientologists.- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -2/+24The 11th grade "i hate god lol!" atheists will tend to be like that. I don't care about your religion, but do me the same favor though.
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/17/2008, -4/+15Digg is full of the "11th grade 'i hate god lol!' atheists" though. They bash and berate and wonder why people don't listen to them.
- chicofaraby, on 04/17/2008, -13/+9"I find atheists to be far more judgmental and confrontational than any other religious group ive ever had contact with"
If you think atheism is a religious group you are getting called "stupid" because you obviously are. Atheism isn't religion. It's a lack of religion.- RuffRidr, on 04/17/2008, -6/+15With the exception of the word 'religious' you've just proved his point.
- chicofaraby, on 04/17/2008, -12/+5The word "religious" was my point. Dumbass.
- RuffRidr, on 04/17/2008, -6/+9I didn't say your point was wrong, dumbass. HIS point was that atheists are confrontational. Yes, he wrongly attributed them to being a religious group. That doesn't negate the rest of his message about the Atheists groups as a whole being confrontational. So again, I think your messages prove his point perfectly.
- chicofaraby, on 04/17/2008, -9/+6And I don't disagree with the contention that atheists are becoming more confrontational. We're done with sitting in a closet hiding our views. We need to become even more confrontational in my view. We need to stop allowing dumbasses like that guy to equate our lack of superstition with their embrace of stupidity. The only way to end that crap is to call it down when it happens. Stupid people need to be called down in public forums like this one.
- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -0/+9Maybe that's true but I'm not ridiculed or insulted as an atheist. I'm fine and content, and I don't bug anyone about religion and I ignore those who do voice their ignorant rage against my lack of belief. I think we can all enjoy our own belief systems so long as we keep it to ourselves, same thing goes for what you do in the bedroom and what you smoke. These should be the tenants of conservatives, and if it was I'd be proud that I could apply the freedom of the free market to personal issues as well.
- ssn697, on 04/17/2008, -1/+11I've been through at least 6 religions, before deciding none of them had anything to add to my life. My kids were raised without religion. They are both outstanding late teenagers now. Most of my "Christian" friends think my kids have great "Christian values" (don't drink, smoke, swear, high grades, etc.) which makes my kids laugh.
I just don't believe some higher all-powerful being is as judgmental, petty, and angry as religions want us to believe. I think it is VERY easy to raise quality kids, and have a quality life, without religion.
That is MY belief though. If people want/need faith, then so be it. There is room for evolution AND faith. They have nothing to do with each other.
The chicofaraby's of the world, along with the proselytizing Christians, are the people that polarize. Get the ***** out of MY beliefs. Your beliefs are yours. Calling people stupid gains nothing. Calling people sinners gains nothing. Both sides are doing it out of their OWN VANITY, nothing more.
Go away ALL you pushy jerks. - SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6ssn: Bravo!
- romistrub, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Here's my strange take on things:
Everybody is born atheist. For anybody to become non-atheist, some "pushing of beliefs" must be done (usually). Atheists try to return people to the "natural" (boy that's a loaded word) state, or "undo" any sort of belief-mongering that has been dropped on them.
Self-discovery is incredibly rare as a means of conversion.
That being said, assholes are assholes are assholes. - chicofaraby, on 04/17/2008, -1/+1I didn't make the OP call atheism a religion. I merely called that ***** because it is.
I'm not interested in "promoting" atheism, I'm just sick of hiding it. But I'm REALLY sick of the superstitious people trying to equate my lack of interest in their superstition with their superstition. It's not my fault the guy is stupid!
- RuffRidr, on 04/17/2008, -6/+15With the exception of the word 'religious' you've just proved his point.
- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2When you want to teach it in our schools to our children, then it becomes stupid. Just like evolution is stupid in your church. Keep your religion out of my school and I'll keep my logic and rational thought out of your church. The reason athiests are confrontational and "rude" is because we're tired of having it shoved down our throughts over and over and over and over and over and over. Seriously, quit trying to take over society! In fact, quit mentioning it in public period. It's highly oppressive!
- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -2/+24The 11th grade "i hate god lol!" atheists will tend to be like that. I don't care about your religion, but do me the same favor though.
- EatingPie, on 04/17/2008, -3/+4In addition to SteelCicken's comments, the problem is that atheists have a problem when Christians claim there is logic and reason behind their faith. DeskFlyer's statement *assumes* there just plain isn't any, and this is an underlying current of atheism, and it doesn't lend itself to *listening* when logic/reason is presented.
Admittedly, Christianity at large hasn't done a good job in present logic for their faith. So it's not all atheists' fault.

- chicofaraby, on 04/17/2008, -11/+12People who classify atheism as a "religious and spiritual group" are seriously stupid. As in, "can't understand a dictionary" stupid.
And frankly, scientology looks EXACTLY like any other superstition to me. Worshipping a fictional character is stupid regardless if that character walks on water or flies in a spaceship.- Slovenian6474, on 04/17/2008, -5/+2According to good ol' Mr. Webster, one definition for "religious" is "fervent, zealous". By that definition, you ARE in fact, a perfect example of how atheism can be considered religious.
Don't challenge my dictionary skills.- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -1/+4Athiestic zealtry is a reaction to religous zealotry. The religous ones are the initiators. If religion were never mentioned in the first place then athiests wouldn't be athiests they would be citizens. The religious people are the ones who have gone to such great lenghts to label non-believers as some kind of wacko fringe group. That's why athiests get hacked off.
- Slovenian6474, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1As much as i like arguing completely unsupportable topics (and believe me, i love it), i'm not going to argue over who zeal'ed who first. The fact is (and my initial point), non-believers (and I can add believers too, if you want) tend to be religious under the "fervent, zealous" definition.

- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -7/+3I think that it could definitely be categorized that way, though most atheists will disagree out of principle. They tend to be closed minded on certain topics and that particular classification is one of them.
Without a doubt though, they are as fanatical as any religious zealot I have known. - Sharky35, on 04/17/2008, -6/+3Well they sure act like one.
- talonstriker, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Eh, its merely a classification...not a big deal...

- SRSco, on 04/17/2008, -20/+14Evangelical Atheists (like Richard Dawkins and 90% of Digg) are still the most arrogant and obnoxious people in my opinion. I don't even know any Scientologists. But I know too many know-it-all atheist douchebags.
- mooseontheloose, on 04/17/2008, -2/+13Yeah, ***** that Dawkins. Who is he to write a book about atheism? Only religious people should be allowed to express their opinions on religion in public - if an atheist does it, he's a crusading arrogant douchebag!
- vermax, on 04/17/2008, -5/+4i agree Dawkins takes it way too far, anyone who thinks they know for sure what's deep inside the universe is a ***** idiot. but I'll still take him over pretty much anybody who carries a book they think is the word of god.
- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+4Evangelical atheists? Look, I'm sorry if I qualify as some sort of major ***** for pointing out that 1+1does not equal 3.
It seems you are emotionally invested in your religion to the point that if anyone tries to refute your stated basis for believing in it you see it as a personal attack. The fact of the matter is Religious zealots NEED their religion to maintain sanity. Death and non-existance scare you so much that you believe what is convienient for you so you don't have to live scared and insecure. Just because you need it to be true does not mean it will be. That's life. Re-examine your beliefs in the light of rationality and logic if you're brave enough to come to terms with the cold harsh reality that IS instead of ideas that you hold so dear for the sake of your sanity.
- ElAssoWipo, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6I guess Tom Cruise is going to have create another reality, hahahahhaa, Zing! Whistle, clap, in which Scientologists.............................................................................................................................are not so disliked. It's like wow, BAM!
- evilcaptain, on 04/17/2008, -2/+14Atheist isn't a group like the others. Its a lack of belief, not a belief in itself. There are many non-believers that don't count themselves as Atheist.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -4/+4When a lack of belief becomes fanatical, I believe that it can be classified as a belief. I'm still thinking about this because it is a complicated facet of language, but I won't dismiss it out of hand. Atheists DO dismiss it out of hand which could be considered narrow visioned.
- evilcaptain, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8Atheist means nothing more then non-belief in any supernatural deity. Just that, nothing more, full stop.
Anything people try to pin upon its definition is false, and sometimes deliberately misleading.
It really has noting to do with language quirks, just misinterpretation.- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -3/+2When atheists, individually or as a group, label "people with invisible friends" as "totally stupid" then they are not simply "not believing" in something. They are using insult and humiliation to convince (in a word, CONVERT) those to their own way of thinking. This re-classifys them into a belief system, even if that belief is anti-thesis. Especially the ones, zealots, who defend this position rigorously and fanatically.
The MEANING of the word is changing (evolving, heh :-), and I believe it has EVERYTHING to do with language, of which misinterpretation is a huge part.- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Yes, but they don't speak for us all. Unless of course you're willing to call all Catholics pedophiles and all Muslims terrorists.
- evilcaptain, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3If there is a reclassification, please let the dictionary know!
I'm sure that your lay-man reclassification helps everyone understand the situation a whole lot better ;)
BTW you can be an Atheist AND something else, you don't need to change any words to do it.
Some of these people deserve insults, because they commit rape, murder, child abuse and a nearly endless stream of evil deeds, all in the name of their religion. - Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2If Athiesm is now a religion of it's own than what is lack of religion or faith in the supernatural now called? A bright maybe?
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Your disparate tying of separate items aside, I think it is next to impossible for two people to believe in the same thing in exactly the same way; however, to clarify, if you are a person who does not believe in any God or higher power, then you are an atheist. If you try to make other people come over to that point of view, then your belief system is one of atheistic origin.
I leave the question of whether I used the word "you" as first person singular or second person plural as an exercise to the reader. - BikeRanger, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Good point. So if I remember my math correctly, by the transitive property of equality:
When RELIGIONISTS, individually or as a group, label "ATHEISTS" as "GOING TO HELL" then they are not simply "BELIEVING" in something. They are using insult and humiliation to convince (in a word, convert) those to their own way of thinking. This re-classifys them into a belief system, even if that belief is anti-thesis. Especially the ones, zealots, who defend this position rigorously and fanatically. - RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Their system is already classified as a belief system as I believe it is the baseline for the premise that the polar opposite also constitutes one. In addition (heh), applying mathematics in this situation is questionable, and definitely calls for another beer; however, your application of theory is sound and IMHO absolutely correct.
And I sure wish they would stay away from MY front door.
- IHaveIssues, on 04/17/2008, -3/+4Those individuals that label others as stupid for their beliefs are not doing because they are atheists, they are doing it because they are idiots. You may have noticed that there are idiots all over the place regardless of religion or lack of religion.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -4/+2When they do it AS atheists, then it is a belief system. As to their level of idiocy, that is a separate topic and requires a second round of beer. :-)
- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -0/+6So am I not a part of the "atheist religion" because I don't insult others?
- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2Wrong, it's a reaction against constant, unending pressure to believe as a christian believes.
Yeah, when you can't swallow it and half the people you know try to cram it down your throught on a daily basis, then you can't help but become spiteful about it. It's like ENOUGH ALLREADY! You believe it? FINE! But stop trying to sell it to me!
Eventually it becomes...***** OFF YOU DELUDED MORONS!!!! - RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Bilabrin: This is pretty much a good Readers Digest summary of how most wars began.
dshPIs: Change "insult others" to "attempt to convert others to my point of view of non-belief" and yes, that is exactly what I am saying. - dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2Who have I tried to convert? I don't care how you live or what you believe. I guess I'm somehow not an atheist.. Even when I don't believe in a higher power.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3If you do not believe in a God or higher power, then I would classify you as an atheist. If you have not tried to convert others to your point of view, then I would not further classify your atheism as a belief system.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -4/+2When they do it AS atheists, then it is a belief system. As to their level of idiocy, that is a separate topic and requires a second round of beer. :-)
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -3/+2When atheists, individually or as a group, label "people with invisible friends" as "totally stupid" then they are not simply "not believing" in something. They are using insult and humiliation to convince (in a word, CONVERT) those to their own way of thinking. This re-classifys them into a belief system, even if that belief is anti-thesis. Especially the ones, zealots, who defend this position rigorously and fanatically.
- evilcaptain, on 04/17/2008, -1/+8Atheist means nothing more then non-belief in any supernatural deity. Just that, nothing more, full stop.
- vermax, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2no, atheism is very much a belief, and that's the trouble with it. it dismisses one unsupported certainty only to replace it with another. my belief is that we're too stupid to say with any certainty what the real story is, so while we're welcome to investigate and speculate, in fact that's one of the things that makes life worth living, any "answer" to those questions should be pencilled in, never ever inked.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -0/+2An excellent synopsis of agnosticism.
- evilcaptain, on 04/21/2008, -0/+2No atheism isn't a belief, it's the lack of one. But you can replace the need for belief by other world views which have their own names too.
Stop thinking that Atheism stands for something other than its definition!
- angusm, on 04/17/2008, -12/+4I'm sorry to say this, but atheists are dumb. The Catholic church wants 10% of your income in tithes, or an unspecified amount for a plenary indulgence. Scientology will happily bilk you out of your life savings. What do atheists ask for? $15.95 for a copy of the latest Richard Dawkins book. If we were really as smart as we claim to be, we'd have found a way to monetize this atheism stuff.
Starting tomorrow, I'm launching a series of atheist training videos. You have to watch the whole set before you can really call yourself an atheist. $7200 for 8 videos may seem like a lot of money, but isn't it worth it to know that you're finally free of superstition?- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5However, the Catholic church doesn't FORCE the tithing out of you. Scientology does. But you keep believing what you want.
- Sharky35, on 04/17/2008, -2/+8You need to develop levels of Atheism... Tha'd be cool! And it'd cost like a million dollars to be a Level 13 Certified Atheist. Also called a Atheist Super Star or an A.S.S.
- talonstriker, on 04/17/2008, -2/+6"we were really as smart as we claim to be, we'd have found a way to monetize this atheism stuff."
WHAT? That's a trademark of an organized religion.
"Starting tomorrow, I'm launching a series of atheist training videos"
People become athiests through self enlightenment. I doubt anyone was "trained" to be an atheist..and thats how it should be. Please, lets leave the brainwashing to organized religion. Atheism is the religion of an individual--not of the masses. - Eiknujrac, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Sometimes I am amazed at how easily people miss the sarcasm in a lot of digg comments.
- talonstriker, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1That post definitely doesn't sound sarcastic. If it was, I offer the poster my apologies.
- angusm, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Apology accepted. But if you'd really like to make it up to me, you can pre-order our new book "Elements of Disbelief: A Beginner's Guide to Atheism" for just $19.99. But wait, there's more! Buy our six-unit video course for just $299.99, and receive this adorable cuddly Richard Dawkins doll as a special gift. Buy a second video course as a gift for a friend, and we'll throw in a pin-up poster of Bertrand Russell ($15.99 value).
How am I doing, L. Ron? Have I got this money-making stuff right yet?- talonstriker, on 04/18/2008, -0/+1What about shipping?

- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Your argument is fail!
Athiesm means this and only this "sorry, I don't buy that"
The reason athiests seem rude is because you cannot see your own rudeness so it goes from
"Sorry, I don't buy that"
to
" Great, but I still don't buy that, good for you though"
to
"look, no matter how many times you say it, I'm still gonna need more evidence than that, when you get it, let me know"
to
"Oh god, this again? can we please talk about something else...PLEASE!?!?!"
to
"***** OFF YOU DELUDED MORONS!!!"
Do you understand what it's like to have it crammed down your throught EVERY DAY!!!
We're a little tired of hearing it because to us it is nonsense.
YOU are the ones who made us rabid about it! - RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3Atheists are not dumb. WHY do people insist on relating intelligence to belief systems? There is a difference between being idiotic and being right or wrong concerning faith or distinct lack thereof.
- ensta2, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2Jews always complain about being hated but look where they are on this list
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6Ask the same question in Europe. You'll see a different % of hatred.
- ssn697, on 04/17/2008, -0/+8Ask the same question on DIGG, and you will get a much higher percentage...
- SpaceMonkeyZero, on 04/17/2008, -1/+6Ask the same question in Europe. You'll see a different % of hatred.
- insomniacal, on 04/17/2008, -9/+2So THAT'S why Diggers hate scientologists so much. Lift yourself up by shoving someone else down.
Well, at least it's consistent with atheistic morality. - talonstriker, on 04/17/2008, -2/+8Am I the only one dismayed that many religions are viewed positively? In a perfect world, I'd imagine that 100% of the pollees would be neutral.
- Sharky35, on 04/17/2008, -8/+2I don't believe in the Easter Bunny... yet I am not compelled to write books about it, go on TV and talk about it, hold rallys, change legislation and I don't look down on those who do believe in the Easter Bunny.... And I have never ever wanted to form a group where I could sit around and bitch about the stupidity of those who do believe in the Easter Bunny. So yes, Atheism walks like a religion and it talks like a religion. Therefore it must be a.......
- mooseontheloose, on 04/17/2008, -2/+4religion: belief and worship in a superhuman controlling power, esp. a God or personal gods
Would you look at that? It's not a religion BY DEFINITION! Wheeee!
Then again, logic and reasoning isn't exactly a religious person's strong suit.- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3religion: A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.
Would you look at that! It IS a religion BY DEFINITION!
When even definitions can not be agreed upon by opposing parties, there will never be peace.
Logic and reasoning means not limiting ones thinking to the side you prefer to win.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3religion: A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.
- cricket01, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2Have you ever had people knock on your door to make you believe in the Easter Bunny?? Have you ever had a friend who started believing in the Easter Bunny, who would not leave you alone until you believed in the Easter Bunny?? Have people ever been murdered, raped, persecuted etc. for the Easter Bunny?? I find your analogy to be weak at best.
- vermax, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3well, if the easter bunny was ruining my country, i would have a lot to say about it. nice try though. damn near.
- Sharky35, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I appreciate your honesty... I am not a bible thumper, nor am I a Atheist. I'd prolly say that I am a hopeful agnostic.... And the agnostics are much cooler IMO.
- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1I don't write books or go on TV either to promote atheism... I guess I'm not an atheist then, except for the fact that I am...
- mooseontheloose, on 04/17/2008, -2/+4religion: belief and worship in a superhuman controlling power, esp. a God or personal gods
- Brian47126, on 04/17/2008, -4/+2Well, Atheists are thinking, "Thank God"
Were movin' on up, to de sky... to a deluxe apartment... - sparkleyflowers, on 04/17/2008, -2/+10I must have missed the memo about Atheism becoming a religion.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3That'll teach you not to miss staff meetings.
- cobbwobbles, on 04/17/2008, -2/+5sigh, this is both cheering and depressing...I didn't know atheists were hated so much =(
- itsthebrod, on 04/17/2008, -3/+8I'd rather be smart, logical, and well-informed than liked by a majority of the idiotic American public. This is the same American public that voluntarily voted Bush into office TWICE. ***** 'em I say.
- RealmDown, on 04/17/2008, -0/+1Pity them rather. Quality of action rather than perpetuating lack of reason. We want to advance as a whole. "***** 'em" stagnates and gives failure better odds.

- siszam, on 04/17/2008, -14/+1Atheists are worse than the KKK about spreading hate and intolerance.
- khail250, on 04/17/2008, -0/+7KKK are religious idiots! how many rallies do atheists have? they are the most religiously tolerant, because they dont give a *****
- RuffRidr, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5"they are the most religiously tolerant, because they dont give a *****"
Those would technically be agnostic, not atheist.- dshPls, on 04/17/2008, -0/+3I think he means about other peoples beliefs.
- RuffRidr, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5"they are the most religiously tolerant, because they dont give a *****"
- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Christians are always claiming that Christianity is under attack but in reality only the spread of christian influence is under attack.

- active1x0, on 04/17/2008, -7/+3Ok, apparently some of you are so wrapped up in your Atheism, you forgot some of that "reason and logic" you love to talk about.
Someone with a lack of a religion is called an AGNOSTIC. Someone who refuses to believe in any and all forms of a higher power are Atheists, and with the lack of a select few, are generally elitist assholes.- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -2/+2I've heard this over and over. It's just Christians trying to parse definitions to make it seem like this vast block of people are really undecided and may one day find god and join their ranks. Good luck with that.
- elliotys, on 04/17/2008, -0/+5Why is it the religions always claim they are the victims of hate and oppression, yet it is always the aethiest getting the short end of the stick. When was the last time you saw a preacher fired for not teaching science?
- Bilabrin, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Seriously, keep your chrisianity out of my school and I'll keep my evolution out of your church!
- doctorfungi, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5Neither Atheism nor Scientology are religions.
- Infidelcastr0, on 04/17/2008, -1/+5Thank the nonexistant gods for this.
- rhabd0mancer, on 04/17/2008, -2/+6I'm an Atheist Liberal and proud of it.
The best thing my parents ever did for me was to keep me away from those child-molesting,
anti-intellectual loony christians!- Persian5Life, on 04/17/2008, -2/+4as in atheist i am offended, don't stereotype all Christians.
- rkbabang, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2Absolutely. It isn't all Christians that molest children, it is mostly just Catholic priests. And it isn't even all Catholic priests that are child molesters, just one hell of a lot of them. Although I do agree with rhabd0mancer in that all Christians (like members of all religions) are anti-intellectual loonies.

- debuffplx, on 04/17/2008, -1/+3Agnostics are never represented in the polls. Either people are too dumb to grasp the concept of agnosticism or people are too dumb to grasp the concept of agnosticism. America, ***** yeah!
- TritonX, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Because the agnostics are the guys alone in the corner hiding and asking that no-one disturbs them. Agnosticism is a temporary state where you are either actively trying to resolve your views of religion or you just don't care and don't want to hear about it. Either way, agnostics can just stfu until they decide which side they are on.
- rkbabang, on 04/17/2008, -1/+2Damn! I kind of liked being one of the most hated. I hate 2nd place.
- macshaggy, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4I'm not an atheist. But I don't understand how a group worshiping not God but Aliens is better than believing in no God at all. At least the atheist doesn't hire lawyers to stop them from saying it's wrong not to believe in God.
- TritonX, on 04/22/2008, -0/+1Not very hard to understand. A majority of the population have a belief system where it is said that non-believers are the biggest sinners to ever walk the earth, they will even forgive a child molester, but not an atheist.
- BaudiIROCZ, on 04/21/2008, -0/+1Thanks Tom Cruise. Now people might realize how truly stupid it is to hate adults simply because they don't have imaginary friends.
