Army Offering Six-Figure Bonuses for Arabic Speakers

thinkprogress.org — Army may begin paying retention bonuses worth as much as $150,000 to Arabic-speaking soldiers, “in reflection of how critical it has become for the US military to retain native language and cultural know-how in its ranks.”

Even though it's important to be able to understand the transmissions from other countries, six figures is sort of going off the deep end. However it is good that someone in the military is really pulling in the big bucks for a change.
