- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -8/+29How can you deny the holocaust? That's like denying that the earth is round.
- Alheithinn, on 02/19/2009, -16/+31The backlash against the Vatican has been beautiful. I applaud Argentina for its stance. The Society of Pius X, not so much ...they only did what they did because they had to, as is usual with Catholicism over the centuries, not because it was right. Black eye for that fascist Benedict XVI. FU Bennie!!!
- drgmdp, on 02/20/2009, -1/+14you know, countries change. in your country 50 years ago there was separate toilets for black and white people and today a black guy is the president.
- rolf, on 02/20/2009, -2/+14Don't you know, the ideal of Freedom of Speech only applies to popular speech /s.
- ciaran036, on 02/20/2009, -12/+24That's a bit much.
I doubt anyone would be thrown out if they denied that WW2 happened. Ridiculous claim to make, but it still doesn't provide justification for being thrown out of an entire country. - aufte, on 02/20/2009, -0/+12It's that kind of dangerous thinking that causes our ships to fall off the edge of the earth.
- Bloodwine, on 02/20/2009, -0/+11A lot of Catholics were rounded up and killed during the Holocaust as well, which makes the fact that there is a Holocaust-denying Bishop rather weird.
- Evolve, on 02/20/2009, -1/+10Only the Jewish deaths are considered a Holocaust ?
If you add up all the supposed deaths of Jews (6million), they are dwarfed by the deaths of soldiers (25million), and the definition of a Holocaust is "any mass slaughter or reckless destruction of life", of which sending soldiers into battle can be considered reckless destruction of life, so if you are going to say the Jewish deaths were a holocaust and the soldier's deaths are not then your not being true to the definition.
Then there are also the civilian deaths that are not Jewish that seam to be disregarded as part of the 'core' holocaust.
A terrible event yes, but you must consider all of the war to be a holocaust not just one particular group of people, or you must consider there to be 3 different holocausts, one for each of the Jewish, Military and (other) Civilian mass deaths.
I do not deny the deaths of WW2 I'm just questioning why people are labeling only the Jewish deaths as a Holocaust and the rest are just 'casualties of war'.
Doesn't really matter anyway I'll get digged down -_-
(I'm an atheist by the way, just so people don't think I'm some sort of Catholic sheeple.) - DirtPile, on 02/20/2009, -0/+9Dugg for NPR
- Theugly, on 02/20/2009, -7/+15Regardless of your stance on the holocaust, this sort of government action thing is morally wrong and very corrupt and should never happen in a democracy.
- Harabeck, on 02/20/2009, -1/+8And yet...
http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/ - poidh, on 02/20/2009, -8/+15Quite right. There is only one reason why people do not accept that the Holocaust happened, and that is because they would not object if it happened again.
I'm not Jewish nor a gypsy nor one of the other groups who were targetted for genocide but I'd work to make sure that they never again had to go through what they went through in the 30s and 40s. - inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7If you're going to be pedantic, at least get it right. First of all, an ellipse is two-dimensional. The word you would be looking for is ellipsoid. Second, Earth would be more specifically referred to as an oblate spheroid. Third, even this is not exactly true, since an oblate spheroid is a precise mathematical construction. The Earth varies from this exact shape by up to 100 metres.
- MercenaryMuffin, on 02/20/2009, -0/+7It's called Yellow journalism, and no it's not
- santixx, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6As an Argentinian... I think we are ***** up.
- derpaderp, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6Dont blame the Asians!! They did nothing wrong!!
- Harabeck, on 02/20/2009, -0/+6NPR is about the last place I'd expect to see yellow journalism...
- SpookyET, on 02/20/2009, -7/+13Argentina have a problem. They are associated with Nazi fugitives. Of coarse they will deport him. It is bad PR. To be fair to Argentina, they fled to many South American countries.
- inc595, on 02/20/2009, -4/+9the earth is round?
- JasonCox, on 02/20/2009, -6/+11Wait, we're talking about the same Argentina, right? The same one that hid Nazi war criminals for years until Israeli commandos kidnapped them one by one and smuggled them out of the country?
- Greengoo, on 02/20/2009, -0/+5Flat Earth Society isn't a "real" group, they're more like performance artists.
"Contrary to the belief of many, North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia (false continents shown on false made-up by the government to imprison us) don't exist. All land on Earth is contained on either Africa or the Saudi Arabian Peninsula." - RansomHoldiay, on 02/20/2009, -12/+17good for them. that guy is a dick.
- cassaffousth, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Argentina has the second biggest jewish community in the world, just after the USA. There are more jewish than nazis for a hundred thousand factor.
- jjason1985, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4I think holocaust denial is pretty stupid. It happened, and we know it, so that's that. To answer your question, YES, they should tolerate this. He is not going up to people and yelling in their face that the holocaust never happened. Thats what he believes, right or wrong, he has the right to believe what he wants.
- thrillki1l, on 02/20/2009, -6/+11And I'm sure my best friends grandparents just got the tattoos on their arm for fun. This guy should be dragged into the street an publicly beaten.
- rolf, on 02/20/2009, -2/+6Wow. Just wow. Maybe Gandhi should have gone ahead and beat up the bastards that didn't agree with his non-violent message as well.
- cassaffousth, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Argentina has the second biggest jewish community in the world, just after the USA. There are more jewish than nazis for a hundred thousand factor.
- cassaffousth, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Argentina has the second biggest jewish community in the world, just after the USA. There are more jewish than nazis for a hundred thousand factor.
- AlextheK, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4"even the Red Cross admits only a few hundred"....
That's bull, sir, and I'm sure you know it.
I've been watching holocaust deniers online for decades. Their dedication to spreading the most outrageous, imbecilic lies would be entertaining if it weren't a smokescreen for such disgusting bigotry.
Be ashamed. - dgolding, on 02/20/2009, -0/+4Most scholars consider the holocaust to include not only jews, but also gypsies, homosexuals, political dissidents, and some catholic clergy. The holocaust is significant because it was a very successful genocide which utilized industrial methods to increase its efficiency. There have only been a few events in history which are comparable, but even they pale in comparison (I'm thinking Armenian genocide and the Cambodian killing fields).
The holocaust is only loosely coupled with WWII - the death toll in that war was huge, but combatant deaths should be counted differently. - aufte, on 02/20/2009, -1/+5Thank you so much, I really, really, really needed that laugh tonight.
- IneedaSN, on 02/20/2009, -7/+10aaaaannndddd STAY OUT
- anexanhume, on 02/20/2009, -1/+4Actually, the earth is an ellipse.
>_> - cassaffousth, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Argentina has the second biggest jewish community in the world. The USA has the biggest.
- Merp08, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Argentina is entitled to tell him to get the ***** out.
- drgmdp, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3as an argentinian i agree
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3 It's a truncated sphere really.
- mugrido, on 02/20/2009, -8/+11He is entitled to believe the holocaust did not happen. I really do not understand what this is about. His views are quite unpopular, so what? Getting kicked out of the country because he did not fill correctly an immigration form is at best laughable.
- videodroner, on 02/20/2009, -0/+3Umm... a pretty big one actually. As well as a lot of Europeans.
- thisisthetruth, on 02/20/2009, -2/+5http://www.holocaustdenialvideos.com/
- dstz, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2"A lot of Catholics were rounded up and killed during the Holocaust as well, which makes the fact that there is a Holocaust-denying Bishop rather weird."
Nazi didn't seek to destroy all Catholic people in Europe, just those who were inconvenient, ie polish people mainly. A modern Catholic Nazi sympathizer could easily rationalize that... it's easy to forget Poland. - spiralspirit, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3rationalxubrnce

//evil cackle - poidh, on 02/20/2009, -2/+4I was dugg up initially, but now I'm starting to get dugg down. It's no secret though that Digg has rather a problem with Jew-haters. Brainless *****.
- inactive, on 02/20/2009, -4/+6Holocaust or GTFO!
- k3rfuffl3, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3I'm more a fan of freedom speech rather than this *****. The church should be the ones kicking him out... not a democratic nation assuming it values basic freedoms of any kind.
- nihilville, on 02/20/2009, -1/+3Dugg for "Dugg for NPR"
- sockpuppets, on 02/20/2009, -3/+5I see what jew did there.
- Harabeck, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2True Greengoo, it's very interesting to go there and argue with them. Very good practice for your debate skills.
- aadsfasdf, on 02/20/2009, -0/+2I assume you mean democracy in the 'lol freedoms' sense, not the actual, mob rule definition. This is exactly what happens in a democracy, it's two wolves and a sheep deciding who's for dinner.
