Only perverts put restrictions on it. - Darkhacker, on 08/07/2008, -6/+55Although I appreciate his support, the picture becomes quite a bit more clear when you leave your bronze age mythologies and delusions behind you and think critically about how a society should function. How about tolerating homosexuality because it's the right thing to do, and not because you found some stupid loophole in your ***** fairy tales?
- DistantSecond, on 08/06/2008, -10/+59It's really too bad he doesn't speak for all Christians.
- idoj, on 08/07/2008, -6/+55How cool will the world be when everyone has the same rights and we don't see headlines in the news stating the obvious!
- absurdist, on 08/07/2008, -7/+47OK, for all you fundies out there...
Do you eat shellfish?
IT IS AN ABOMINATION IN THE EYES OF THE LORD!!!
Do you wear clothes of blended fibers?
IT IS AN ABOMINATION IN THE EYES OF THE LORD!!!
Here's a clue. The bible is the word of MEN. Not of some invisible sky daddy. Seriously, how you people can swallow half-baked, idiotic crap like Leviticus is beyond me. - billbugger, on 08/06/2008, -7/+44Damn! Read the comments on that page. I thought the U.K. was a little more forward thinking then that.
- EatingPie, on 08/07/2008, -3/+34Whether or not homosexuality is a sin, it has no bearing on the absolute, undeniable Biblical fact that God loves gay people.
-Pie - inactive, on 08/07/2008, -4/+34I continue to be amazed that this is still an issue, what an abomination that a society seeks to define what kind of love is acceptable. The amount of gay bashing that still exists, popularly, is astounding. Just last semester I interjected when about half the class was throwing around "fag" in my psych class like a bunch of idiots. It's amazing.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -5/+34And superstitious people apparently do something "comparable to thinking."
Gay people don' need permission from a leader of the superstitious. - absurdist, on 08/07/2008, -2/+29OK, then tell me where in the Bible Jesus himself says ANYTHING about homosexuality.
I'm waiting... - Cenobite, on 08/07/2008, -6/+30Holy Haberdashery, Batman! A progressive head of the Church of England!
- ztigerpaw, on 08/07/2008, -4/+26Being Gay is like being Straight. Love is love. There's no difference. Aside from the special "thing" down where the sun don't shine is the same. Honestly. Our own animals can be freakin' Gay, jeeeze.
- RonaldLovegood, on 08/07/2008, -0/+21Last time I checked, we're animals too.
- mtmtmtmt, on 08/07/2008, -0/+19Because homophobes use the "being gay is unnatural! it's just a choice!" ***** to justify their hatred. If it's unnatural, how come it occurs in other species?
- LunaticFringe, on 08/07/2008, -0/+17Sorry to spoil existence for you, but humans are animals. ***** sapiens sapiens.
- borez, on 08/07/2008, -5/+22Who gives a ***** what the church says about anything..
- enotswhat, on 08/07/2008, -0/+16lol @ referencing a christian belief
- RonaldLovegood, on 08/07/2008, -3/+19It doesn't matter what "version" it is, it's still written by people.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -8/+24Where does this ***** get the authority to speak? Lemme guess, out of his ass? The Bible is very clear on homosexual relationships.
The bible isn't a salad bar, *****, so you can't pick and chose what parts you want to believe in, while telling everyone to ignore other parts. It's all or nothing.
Why do you think people call you hypocrites all the time?!
Moderates need to admit that the bible is a human text that expresses moral and ethical viewpoints that are several thousand years out of date. Until they do, they need to live with the stink that the biblical literalists bring.
Funny how Christians only interpret the Bible anyway they seem fit. Funny how they interpret it to justify their intolerance, their own politics, their hypocrisy and the self-righteous bullsh1t they impose on others huh?
We live in a twisted world, where right is wrong and wrong reigns supreme. It is a chilling fact that most of the world's leaders believe in nonsensical fairytales about the nature of reality. They believe in Gods that do not exist, and religions that could not possibly be true. We are driven to war after war, violence on top of violence to appease madmen who believe in gory mythologies. These men are called Christians, Muslims and Jews. - JoeVet, on 08/07/2008, -0/+15Sorry to break it to you but humans are animals.
- jorichter, on 08/07/2008, -7/+21Is the Church finally growing up? And accepting the idea that "God loves everyone."
- kemp34, on 08/07/2008, -4/+18Let people be free to do what they want so long as they don't physically harm others.
- JoeVet, on 08/07/2008, -4/+17Selective reading of the bible is correct interpretation of Christian belief. All those pages dedicated to treating all people with respect are tossed out when the subject is a minority or homosexual that the Christian wishes to extend their hatred.
- DistantSecond, on 08/07/2008, -4/+17Maybe, but at least it's a move in the right direction. I'd take him over Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, or the Westboro First Baptist Church any day.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -5/+17Yesterday's Flat Earthers are today's Christians
And in 100 years from now Christians will be just a small fringe group of lunatics, perverts, psychotics, derelicts, retards, criminals, pedophiles and insane people.
Look in the mirror Christians. Today's Christian is really yesterday's Flat Earther. - AnarchoGoth, on 08/07/2008, -1/+13Jesse Ventura on Gay Marriage:

- sittered, on 08/08/2008, -0/+11The right to marry the person they love.
- inactive, on 08/07/2008, -2/+13Equality? NOOOOOOO!
- atmenterprises, on 08/07/2008, -0/+10If society makes it that long.
- Stavrosian, on 08/07/2008, -1/+11We are. Don't let the rantings of some repressed people on the internet fool you. Hell, I don't know what I'd make of America if the internet was my only point of reference!
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -0/+9Unfortunately, sooperspook, pedophilia and cannibalism are acts with a defined victim and a lack of consent between the practicioners. Homosexuality is not like the two.
- lydecker, on 08/08/2008, -0/+9"Using "It's natural!" just isn't a valid reason to accept homosexuality."
Nor is "it's not natural" a valid reason to reject homosexuality. But darn it, they'll try anything they got. - lydecker, on 08/08/2008, -4/+13So he didn't talk about homosexuality at all, he talked about God's ability to destroy a city.
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -0/+9It actually is a right as set forth in Loving v. Virginia. We don't just have a right to get married; we have a right to get married to the person of our choosing. At the time, that meant of any race. This time, it means of any sex. Any questions?
- starbuxadct, on 08/07/2008, -0/+9Animal: a living organism characterized by voluntary movement
Hmm.. - mtmtmtmt, on 08/07/2008, -0/+9you must've not been paying any attention to the Catholic church, then...
- Godlike, on 08/07/2008, -2/+10I agree, I had one day hoped to move there to try out a more accepting and less bigoted society, I guess I was WAY wrong.
What puzzles me is how you all act morally superior whenever it comes to comparing against America. - borez, on 08/07/2008, -0/+8We are, they have comment moderation and therefore only print the ***** that will suit their particular agenda for the day,
- absurdist, on 08/07/2008, -4/+12And Buddhists. And Hindus. And Shintos. And and and.
Aside from the Jainists, I don't know of any religion whose hands aren't covered with gore. And I don't mean Al. - inactive, on 08/11/2008, -1/+9Who cares what the church thinks? You have to be a tool to take their advice seriously anyway.
- lydecker, on 08/08/2008, -1/+9I'm cool with NAMBLA as long as they don't violate anyone's rights. Which applies to children.
- AlaskaLoneWolf, on 08/07/2008, -7/+15That will probably be right after all the religions of the earth are abolished:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armageddon - eir574, on 08/08/2008, -0/+8I'd like to meet a dog with the legal capacity to enter into marriage. Not so much the cat. I'm allergic to cats.
- inactive, on 08/08/2008, -0/+7He's simply saying, lajaw, that Christians aren't all saints. Of course, your tiny little mind might not have caught that subtlety. Perhaps you should realize that in the same way that some, but not all, Christians sodomize young men while high on crystal meth, some, but not all, homosexuals are promiscuous and infected with STIs. If you don't like generalizations against your kind, then you'd be best off not generalizing at all.
- Clusterfrak, on 08/07/2008, -0/+7Winners of a gameshow shouldn't be a yardstick for social tolerance. How about winners of national elections instead.
- ZellD, on 08/07/2008, -1/+8I learned that living abroad in a non-western country. The most bigoted, arrogant, and thoughtless actions came not from U.S. Americans as I expected but rather from Europeans.
- secrity, on 08/08/2008, -1/+8I am an atheist; "god hates fags" is a quote from Fred Phelps and "homosexual practice is incompatible with Scripture" is a quote from bishop Williams.
- StaticThunder, on 08/08/2008, -3/+10No, it said you don't need to sacrifice an animal to atone for your sins anymore, because Jesus WAS the sacrifice. It never undid Levitical law.
Jesus fulfilled the law, he didn't abolish it. So where did he specifically say "ignore God's law, except for these parts." I find it very hard to believe that Christ ever said, "nothing in the scriptures matters any more except this and this and this and this."
These things have been BUTCHERED by cafeteria Christians for centuries, who then have the audacity to say that their translation and interpretation is still the inspired word of God, when it was a flawed concept created by demagogues and never divine in the first place.
To be fair, I find the entire Bible to be a pile of *****, but at least be honest about its contents. - Stavrosian, on 08/07/2008, -4/+11The Sharia law thing has been taken so far out of context it is untrue.
