- inactive, on 02/26/2008, -1/+6I'm pretty sure that I've already explained how both cults are threats.
- dedalb, on 03/14/2008, -0/+3It's more likely Scientology mailed the fake anthrax to itself in order to curry sympathy by playing the victim. They've done it before. Google Operation Freakout. The problem with crying wolf one too many times is that no one takes you seriously any more when you report these things, because in all probability, you committed the very crimes you are accusing anonymous of.
- chaosium, on 02/26/2008, -4/+6Scientology spam.
- chaosium, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3"Clam Bake is run by avid haters"
If it's only run by "avid haters" why are there many ex-COS officers there? - chaosium, on 02/27/2008, -1/+3Big surprise, Ron Paul fanatics are COS shills.

CoS says they were innocent in McPerson's death, and denies driving 45 minto a hospital with a scientologist on staff instead of 3min to the nearest was relevant. So why did David Miscavidge try to pay out a total of $715,000 to settle the case hmm?
http://www.whyaretheydead.net/ - ThetaWorks, on 03/12/2008, -0/+1How has Scientology killed? What's the documentation? Or is this just another opinion that got bought as fact because someone didn't bother to do their own research and parroted the false data like good little soldiers are supposed to do for their masters.

- darkpanorama, on 02/24/2008, -2/+3Ok, you could say the site is an important part to balance out the hate sites. And it does not hide that it has been created by two Scientologists, one even running an "Ask a Scientologist" type of blog alongside of it (scientologymyths.wordpress.com). Clearly it does not take away from readers to make up their mind and be responsible...
- KlogereEndGrim, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1AriaStar, I've liked your comments in the past a lot, so I am not going to digg you down, I am not going to digg you up either though.
You are right in saying there are worse things out there than Scientology. This, however, should not deter us from trying to bring this cult to its knees, and by comparing our actions against the church to bigger evils, you will lead people into apathy.
We can't abolish all religion, and most of us probably would not want to, but in this particular case we have momentum, mutual agreement, masses of people, lulz and internet communication that enables us to do to this cult what has previously been unpossible.
The fight against this pyramid scheme of a cult is interesting because it is possible for us, right now, to do something about it, which cannot be said for the other suggestions you come up with. This does not mean that there should not be worked on other noble causes, but that such work should not be an argument against this cause, since you cannot transfer the energy, momentum, mutual agreement and possibility of success onto a "more worty cause."
I hope I made some sense ;) - FreedomToThink, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1Because with the government there will have been a 'chain of evidence' that at the very least showed that it WAS anthrax that they were dealing with, hence a genuine concern at the very least.
With the CoS the biggest chain is the many links to similar 'oh look at me i'm the victim, no really' stories, and actual convictions for attempting to set people up, falsifying evidence etc.
The only actual evidence with the CoS's anthrax claims were the FBI announcing it was a hoax, and that they don't suspect Anonymous. - graydude, on 02/25/2008, -3/+4IMHO, the guy running the site is a brave soul. He's (or she's) trying to answer questions as best he can and he is allowing negative comments, criticisms and outright attacks to be posted to the site. I think it's a good thing. There are tons of sites out there that promote rumors and opinions about Scientology as fact. A site that tries to tell the actual facts is well worth having.
- averagenormal, on 03/20/2008, -0/+0hmmm.. the sound of silence..
- AriaStar, on 02/23/2008, -8/+7That website is run by Scientologists, just as Clam Bake is run by avid haters. While the myths have indeed run out of proportion to the truth, Scientology Myths runs to the opposite extreme. The truth is going to be somewhere in the middle, as it tends to be with everything controversial, religion or not. But people are going to jump on one side or the other instead of research the facts themselves.
Scientology is not 100% harmless and it shouldn't be tax-exempt as it runs like a business, but it's killed far fewer people overall than Christianity and Islam kill every year. People die senselessly in the name of ALL "religions," like it or not.
You can digg me down if you want for being on the fence overall about this. I'm just going to be honest and say to look at all "religions," not just one. - darkpanorama, on 02/24/2008, -5/+4Ok, you could say the site is an important part to balance out the hate sites. - inactive, on 02/26/2008, -7/+5Anonymous is pretty lame considering that Islam is still a greater threat, but Scientology does ruin lives and even kills. Funny how so many prominent Scientology opponents get beat up in alleys or mysteriously commit suicide.
Funny how Scientology promised a former cult member to be reincarnated into a Scientology family if he only committed suicide and left a suicide note that they wrote for him, and this cult member said (apparently hypnotized) in his deposition that he would've gone through with it if he was only shown the "tech" but that he really wanted to help "clear" half of the planet. He thought that he was the father of Jesus, having masturbated into a puddle while watching Mary bathe from nearby bushes, and that he would prove that Christianity was a fraud.
Buried as Scientologist spam. - ThetaWorks, on 03/12/2008, -2/+0That's funny. Why are there many ex-COS officers there? That doesn't make them avid haters?
- card51short, on 02/26/2008, -7/+4"Anonymous is pretty lame considering that Islam is still a greater threat"
LOL Islam is a threat? A religion is a threat to America? How? What do you say we do? Ban that religion?
How is either Scientology or Islam a threat? - gulia1985, on 03/13/2008, -4/+1Okay, I'm a Scientologist and I honestly haven't read a whole lot of the hateful comments written here and in other places. However, I wanted to clear up one common thread that I see in these comments and that is the demand for "proof" of the harmful things that Anonymous has done. When there was an anthrax scare in government facilities, did the American people need proof? Didn't we just trust the word of the poor people who's lives were threatened and the FBI investigators who obviously took it seriously? Why don't those who demand proof of the hateful actions done by some "Anonymous" group of people call the FBI? Why don't they see the hundreds of posts posted by actual flesh and blood people, just like them, who happen to also be Scientologists? Isn't that "proof"? It's certainly not here say... so to my knowledge it's admissible in court.
