- flameboy, on 01/28/2008, -9/+463This is an official release and does a good job clarifying anons position.
- xenuisepicfail, on 01/28/2008, -10/+408This isn't about memes, "terror", or fun.
This is about bringing the unjust actions of a cult to light. - Gryfft, on 01/28/2008, -20/+292Please Digg:
Do not censor this. Let the voice of Anonymous ring true. Information should be free. So should speech. - IBMS, on 01/28/2008, -4/+199People don't reject the church because of their views.
They reject them because of the WAY in which they enforce those views and silence their critics.
Google "BBC Panorama - Scientology and Me" to see how Scientology try to harrass, intimidate and stalk their enemies like prey. They turn up at a journalists hotel even though he told nobody where he was staying. They send guys to follow him 24/7. They send blacked out cars to trail him everywhere.
Google "theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com" to see the cover-ups that scientology has engaged in - SiNN4R, on 01/28/2008, -9/+18302/10/08
- SaladCactusKing, on 01/28/2008, -5/+174This is far more. All should fight scientology and their ethically corrupt, illegal practices in the name of "religion." This isn't about anonymous or lulz or anything, it's about exposing the cult for what it is. I submitted this not as an anon (which I'm not) but as someone who wants to change the world for the better, and if the movement to do so is started by catchphrase spouting dorks, than so ***** be it. Scientology must be destroyed for the good of the world, and I don't care who does it.
- samuraiswordsmn, on 01/28/2008, -7/+142Arm yourself with knowledge.
Apathy will not solve anything. - ericmichael, on 01/28/2008, -16/+143Anon FTW!
- Coopdoggie, on 01/28/2008, -7/+128Scientology = Epic Fail
- AnarchoManiac, on 01/28/2008, -5/+87The lulz are just a by-product
- antipax, on 01/28/2008, -9/+81Beware the 10th of February.
- SaladCactusKing, on 01/28/2008, -5/+73One fantastic weapon against the Church of Scientology is the "Free Zone" movement. Essentially, they're people who believe in Scientology, but don't charge for it and let everybody read everything. They hit the church where it hurts, their pocketbooks. As weird as it would be to have allies who believe in Xenu and Teegeeack and all that, I think they'd do a great service to our cause.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Zone_%28Scientol ... - NightVortez, on 01/28/2008, -5/+72I'm glad that the collective minds of Anon have finally put themselves to accomplish something that is going to benefit society and bring lulz at the same time.
- flameboy, on 01/28/2008, -1/+66Thats one option. You can either
1. Gather publicity and gain the support of the masses
or
2. Continue to work in secret, dont tell anybody what you're doing and attempt to kill a huge multi-million dollar religious organization all by yourself
I think #1 is the more intelligent and effective stratagy - cesarandreu, on 01/28/2008, -21/+86I can has press release?
- inactive, on 01/28/2008, -2/+61Not very anonymous, Scott Reed.
- rhedwolf, on 01/28/2008, -12/+68Anonymous should become its own political party in the USA.
- soccerman90, on 01/28/2008, -3/+54its not all about internet censorship its about human rights
- notque, on 01/28/2008, -1/+52I will be outside of a Scientology office protesting on 02/10. United by 1, Divided by 0.
- Devroush, on 01/28/2008, -4/+54Lol, the point is that they have no leaders smartass
- Smarterdanu, on 01/28/2008, -2/+45This is about more than anonymous.
- kaskarn, on 01/28/2008, -6/+49I think they are quite well spoken and sound very mature for a "bunch of teenage hackers". It does give them credibility.
- xVern, on 01/28/2008, -4/+46Be very wary of the tenth of February
Dianetics, treason and plot.
I see no reason why Scientology crimes
Should ever be forgot. - PoopLoops, on 01/28/2008, -1/+41One of the stated goals is to get as much media attention as possible. Then more people will investigate Scientology. The ultimate goal is to get them outed as a cult and not a religion, nullifying their tax-exempt status, among other things.
- inactive, on 01/28/2008, -10/+46This is getting to be awesome.
- skywake, on 01/28/2008, -20/+5510/02/08
- Stonedonkey, on 01/28/2008, -4/+39I know I'll get dugg down for this, but... I'm just making a statement of fact. You ***** around with the USPS, and you can get into some serious *****. Don't say you weren't warned. The government has entire divisions dedicated to dealing with mail fraud.
- N256, on 01/28/2008, -3/+36What makes a video an official release of a group that is everyone?
- SuperCUBE, on 01/28/2008, -5/+37No, people reposting the quotes from Anonymous is stupid.
- Rehnborg, on 01/28/2008, -8/+39They must have a good marketing department.
- LemonDefragger, on 01/28/2008, -5/+36Is anyone else reminded of Ghost in the Shell's standalone complex by some of the video's assertions? Could it be that we're finally at that level of interconnectivity?
- Stonedonkey, on 01/28/2008, -10/+35Speaking of clarification, their attack plan appears to include impersonating the CoS -- sending fake CoS communications in the mail. That's mail fraud and can get you prison time and heavy fines. The snail mail section in general kinda encourages harassment, which via USPS is also a federal crime.
- Dreww40, on 01/28/2008, -13/+38We Are Legion
- freak3295, on 01/28/2008, -4/+29it means the same, we just aint American. Britain ftw. So bury me
- inactive, on 01/28/2008, -10/+33As soon as I saw this on digg, I stopped everything to watch. Anonymous is made of epic win.
- Phyltre, on 01/28/2008, -3/+25NO no nononoooo.
"In Soviet Russia, due to this comment YOU are no longer available!" - eihwaz, on 01/28/2008, -4/+25I'll tell you a secret: there are places on Earth where people put the day number before the month number. I know it might sound impossible to you, but it's true... I actually live in one of those countries. Today is 28/01/08.
- archer104, on 01/28/2008, -3/+24[In soviet russia, this comment is no longer available due to you.]
- inactive, on 01/28/2008, -12/+33Dear God, why isn't this phrase considered spam yet?
- Ivthypain, on 01/28/2008, -0/+20This is not just anonymous. It's getting ALOT of support, from the media, big forums like SA, and many obscure forums like ex-scientologist communities. If we can spread the message peacefully but with hint of "lulz" and meme's then anon has done this job.
- inactive, on 01/28/2008, -3/+22BLOCK THIS FROM THE FRONT PAGE?
DID YOU FORGET ABOUT 09-f9-11-02-9d-74-e3-5b-d8-41-56-c5-63-56-88-c0 - shadekeiko, on 01/28/2008, -4/+23I agree. And I think it's our job not just as diggers who suppport anon, but as humans who support the rights of our fellow humans who have been trapped by the cult of scientology to help out in any way we can on the 10th.
- inactive, on 01/28/2008, -7/+25Yeah, but you don't realize that anonymous is made up of everyone and no one.
It could very well be the person overseeing mail fraud, or it could be a person who works at the USPS who doesn't report it.
I think you underestimate the power of anonymous...
Remember the quote from Fight Club?
"We are the people who make the city run, we wait your tables, we make sure your calls go through, we protect you while you sleep. Don't ***** with us."
While it may seem somewhat silly to use that quote, it is what it is. - TopherT, on 01/28/2008, -2/+20Be wary of the tenth of February.
- Me1000, on 01/28/2008, -1/+19Borg... Not plural!
a collective working as one! - rebelphoenix, on 01/28/2008, -7/+26Damn straight.
- hikaruzero, on 01/28/2008, -0/+17The point is to get as much media attention as possible.
And it's about time that anonymous released something that isn't flagrantly offensive. At least little kids aren't behind this video. This needs to be digged up, HARD. - bdogm, on 01/28/2008, -6/+23digg goes where?
