- Stonedonkey, on 01/28/2008, -10/+35Speaking of clarification, their attack plan appears to include impersonating the CoS -- sending fake CoS communications in the mail. That's mail fraud and can get you prison time and heavy fines. The snail mail section in general kinda encourages harassment, which via USPS is also a federal crime.
- Stonedonkey, on 01/28/2008, -4/+39I know I'll get dugg down for this, but... I'm just making a statement of fact. You ***** around with the USPS, and you can get into some serious *****. Don't say you weren't warned. The government has entire divisions dedicated to dealing with mail fraud.
- Scaryclouds, on 01/28/2008, -6/+2Why is this comment getting dugg up but the original buried?
- d03boy, on 01/28/2008, -11/+5letting people die is a much better alternative
- Tiak, on 01/28/2008, -8/+2Saying you're someone you aren't is regular fraud, not mail fraud.
They aren't actually ***** around with USPS or anyone else's mail.- LegalSatire, on 01/28/2008, -0/+10Saying you're someone else THROUGH THE MAIL is mail fraud. It's one of the easiest things to charge, so even when you should be charged with something else, you'll typically get hit with that in addition or instead of any other crimes. Even if you cause someone else to mail something, it's mail fraud.
For instance, if you claim to be a particular firm, and invite people to send in a donation, and they do... two counts of mail fraud. One for the mailed solicitation you sent, and another for the one they sent back - even though you didn't mail it! Just causing it to be mailed is enough. You can even cause someone to mail it to someone else (not you) and it'll still be counted as though you committed mail fraud. If the victim sends ten mailings, guess how many counts you just got, even if you initially sent only one letter?
- LegalSatire, on 01/28/2008, -0/+10Saying you're someone else THROUGH THE MAIL is mail fraud. It's one of the easiest things to charge, so even when you should be charged with something else, you'll typically get hit with that in addition or instead of any other crimes. Even if you cause someone else to mail something, it's mail fraud.
- WNW3, on 01/28/2008, -5/+8Murder is also a federal crime. And before you ask, two wrongs DO make a right and three rights make a left!
- nick111, on 01/28/2008, -1/+2Yea right.
- floatingpoints, on 01/28/2008, -7/+25Yeah, but you don't realize that anonymous is made up of everyone and no one.
It could very well be the person overseeing mail fraud, or it could be a person who works at the USPS who doesn't report it.
I think you underestimate the power of anonymous...
Remember the quote from Fight Club?
"We are the people who make the city run, we wait your tables, we make sure your calls go through, we protect you while you sleep. Don't ***** with us."
While it may seem somewhat silly to use that quote, it is what it is.- Blandyman, on 01/28/2008, -2/+6You are not your ***** khakis.
- oxdeltaxo, on 01/28/2008, -1/+9Floatingpoints has a ... point. Besides when has anon been afraid to bend the law once in a while for the greater good?
- Stonedonkey, on 01/28/2008, -4/+2On the surface, he does. But in practice, mail fraud is an indictment brought by a prosecutor. The very act of sending fraudulent mail through the USPS is what matters. All the prosecution has to do from there is prove that the communications were indeed fraudulent. The only role the USPS plays at that point is to verify that the communications were sent through their delivery system, which is trivial.
In this instance, it's not something that needs reporting. When mail is involved in an indictment, it's something that every prosecutor will look into regardless. It's not something that a sympathetic government employee can simply make disappear.
The only (dim) hope for the accused is that the documents in question are not available, either physically or due to a skilled defense attorney somehow putting them legally out of bounds. That's something you can do with classified materials, I suppose, but not here.- oxdeltaxo, on 01/28/2008, -1/+4I can't decide whether your a troll or just ignorant about what anon is.
- OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1Sigh.... poor nonanons.
I cant believe you have foiled our plots for mail fraud!!! What you fail to realize is that those wiki pages are editable by ANYONE, so anyone with a dream, a fictional idea, a thought, or a hand is free to write whatever the hell they want in it. Heres a hint from Anon to NonAnon--- STFU about mailfraud because we dont care....................... spend your time learning about Scientology not writing about something that isnt even an issue at all!!!

- N256, on 01/28/2008, -3/+36What makes a video an official release of a group that is everyone?
- flameboy, on 01/28/2008, -3/+14Because there are people who know the correct channels where the information should be originating and this video can be confirmed authentic by those close to the inner circle. Thats how this stuff works...
- ViP3R16, on 01/28/2008, -3/+8Doesn't that contradict them saying there is no leader? Now your saying they have multiple people that 'lead' it. Which is no better than just 1 leader
- flameboy, on 01/28/2008, -2/+9There might not be a leader but there is certainly still some _organization_ through trusted channels.
- d03boy, on 01/28/2008, -2/+5the word "autonomous" comes to mind
- oxdeltaxo, on 01/28/2008, -0/+4If there is an inner circle it is most certainly a mature and capable group of individuals, not a leader. I don't think anon would be what it would be if it had a leader.
- MyExSucks, on 01/28/2008, -4/+3If there were no form of leadership in this endeavor, there would be no organization at all. Imagine all the 16 year olds out there that are becoming obsessed with this. If there's no organization, those nuts would be posting nonsensical videos left and right.
- OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2There is organization, however, organization is free to join for those who know where to look, and if you dont know where to look I suggest you lurk more. The information is out there for those who seek it.
There is no leader, there is no central command. There are guidelines created by Anons for Anons, and for NonAnons. There are collaborative works such as this created by hundreds of Anons in general agreement.
- EbilPhish, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2There is no 'inner circle', there is however a publicity accessible chat room called #press that produces this kind of thing, thats what makes it 'official'.
There are no leaders, the closest concept would be the people who host the servers, but they don't dictate policy and if they disappeared more would spring up.
- ViP3R16, on 01/28/2008, -3/+8Doesn't that contradict them saying there is no leader? Now your saying they have multiple people that 'lead' it. Which is no better than just 1 leader
- LaerrusFish, on 01/28/2008, -1/+8There is an eyeball at the top
- druke, on 01/28/2008, -4/+3there is no official, that's kinda the point. They can say whatever they want, but in the end that's just one person's opinion.
This video may reflect some anons, but not all. However for the situation this stand is likely the best stand to be publicized.
Anon is everyone, Anon is no one. They are One, and He is many. - Metal_Hurlant, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3A great point.
I'm almost waiting for another post that'd say "No, *THIS* is the official Anonymous video."
Every digger/redditor and such holds a vote for which videos are in fact "official" videos.
If a video claims to be from Anonymous, but doesn't jive by you, then guess what? it's not from Anonymous, and bury it as such. - OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2This video is the collaborative work of hundreds of Anons around the world participating in the correct channels. "Anon" has attempted to release videos before that were shot down/buried by other Anons. This video is the official video because it has the backing and support of Anonymous world wide. There may be some dissenting views which is completely acceptable; but this is the pulse of Anon. Every Anon is his own Anon. You are free to make up your mind on what to do.
Secondly; There is an eyeball at the top.
- flameboy, on 01/28/2008, -3/+14Because there are people who know the correct channels where the information should be originating and this video can be confirmed authentic by those close to the inner circle. Thats how this stuff works...
- genocideiscool, on 01/28/2008, -23/+10How is this not mob enforced censorship? I agree scientology has some pretty ***** up skeletons in the closet. But how is this helpful? The movement must be to illuminate not harass and attack. This may be a move to gain public attention, but it is still morally wrong. Not only are they infringing on the free speech rights of COS, they are also infringing on the rights of others who seek free access to information(from all sides).
- Smarterdanu, on 01/28/2008, -4/+7looking past your sn 'genocideiscool'
Scientology suppresses freespeech, and now you try to apply this to this campaign to expose the organization for its lies. The movement is to illuminate, who is harassing and attacking?? Oh, that's right, the scientologists.. - elipabst, on 01/28/2008, -0/+7Did you even watch the video? The whole point was about arming yourself with knowledge of the various nefarious things Scientology has been involved in and to organize protests at Scientology headquarters. At no point did they suggest everyone UDP flooding their site.
- atheinostic, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2Scientology has a policy they call "fair game", meaning anything (and I mean ANYTHING) is acceptable when it comes to taking down critics:
" ENEMY — SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed."
If nonviolent civil disobedience is what it takes to stop Scientology, so be it. - OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -0/+0Anonymous dislikes the teachings of Scientology for they corrupt the mind and pilfer the pockets of the vulnerable, however, Anonymous urges all those who want to learn about Scientology to contact FREE ZONE. Free Zone provides the same materials as Scientology and has the same belief system, except they don't participate in corporate greed, murder, bribery, and lobbying like the "Church" of Scientology does.

- PURPLEDRINK, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1enjoy your thought police.... personally i couldn't care about the scientology raids. but the fact remains, digg isn't so trendy anymore when they censor the voice of an entire group of people.
- bagboyrebel, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1First of all, digg doesn't have free speech because it's a privately owned website. Second, The fact that Scientology posts are still getting through should be proof that they aren't being censored. Third, It get's annoying to people when there are 9 articles about 1 story on the front page.

- nick111, on 01/28/2008, -1/+8Scientology is a cult - the brainwashing mechanism is a specific mechanism. Relgions use something else altogether. I don't think you can put Scientology and religion in the same category - much as they'd like it to be. Scientology belongs with EST etc.
I think that "going after religions" might be less effective than promoting rationality and humanity. You can't abolish religion any more than you can abolish drug use... but to be honest, if Christians would actually practive what Jesus preached, you wouldn't want to.
Practice humanity and compassion. Challenge orthodoxy and heirarchy. That is what Jesus taught.- YellowSnot, on 01/28/2008, -1/+3You obviously didn't go do the same church I did.

- LemonDefragger, on 01/28/2008, -26/+4But I don't know. Wasn't anonymous and 4chan supposed to be about how nothing is serious on the internet and how everything can be mocked and destroyed? I think this new anonymous vs scientology thing has made Anon too preachy, too serious, going against all they originally fought. Don't get me wrong, I love how anonymous is destroying scientology, but who will now show us how nothing we say or do on the internet is sacred? Anon has lost credibility in this regard. /rant

- jj101, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3@ olik - its not a religion though - and they attack anyone they consider "fair game" (their term) in ways that are much more personal and destructive on an individual level. Everything is a game.

- Dundasbro, on 01/28/2008, -5/+8I would hardly count "That's nice" as trolling. Take his posts on their individual merits, rather than come in here and pretty much troll his comments.
- jklikesnews, on 01/28/2008, -3/+5No no, this guy did follow ron paul digg stories like the plague for a while. All of them were useless comments, and it looks like he's up to it again.
- XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on 01/28/2008, -9/+5I doubt you can deem it as trolling since I've only posted in this one Scientology thread and the meaning behind my preceding two word comment was ambiguous. But sure, you can call it trolling if it floats your boat.

- Berkana, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2Not quite like the Romulans vs. the Borg. Rather, you have a totalitarian group that ruthlessly declares those who oppose it "fair game" to be destroyed while having ambitions to eventually dominate the world, and an anonymous, faceless protagonist who issues press releases in a synthesized voice.
Deathnote, anyone?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deathnote- roflcopterdown, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1I prefer to think of it as a Stand Alone Complex where a group of people just one day decided to copycat something that never existed in the first place. - flameboy, on 01/28/2008, -1/+66Thats one option. You can either
1. Gather publicity and gain the support of the masses
or
2. Continue to work in secret, dont tell anybody what you're doing and attempt to kill a huge multi-million dollar religious organization all by yourself
I think #1 is the more intelligent and effective stratagy - PoopLoops, on 01/28/2008, -1/+41One of the stated goals is to get as much media attention as possible. Then more people will investigate Scientology. The ultimate goal is to get them outed as a cult and not a religion, nullifying their tax-exempt status, among other things.

- Hemloch, on 01/28/2008, -2/+3OP is a *****, but you guys are worse.
Everyone participating in this raid is a failure in the eyes of Anonymous. You are all sixteen year-old morons with failed personal lives looking for a group where you can be accepted. You claim you are "doing it for the lulz," which is all fine and good, but there are no lulz to be had in a peaceful protest of timid losers in Guy Fawkes masks singing Kumbaya and inconveniencing everyone with their presence. If you have so much as chortled at anything that has happened thus far, you do not belong on the boards, and I encourage you to GTFO. You also claim this is "for the greater good," forgetting that Anon is not the good-hearted vigilante of the internet. You all treat this like very serious business, which is a testament to just how new you are.
Anonymous is not some internet warrior. He resides on imageboards for *****'s sake. You are tarnishing his name; our name. You are bringing more new users over, which is expected considering you all arrived on the boards during your summer vacation from middle school. You are all the cancer that is killing /b/. I sincerely, sincerely hope you all die in the very near future.
By the way, all Toronto raidfags will be soaked to their bones in urine on the day of their retarded raid. I'll remember to eat two whole plates of asparagus for you guys. The true spirit of Anonymous never fails to shine through, does it. ^_^

"4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings? When in the cadet org I walked in on my cousin accepting small handfuls of sugary cereal to allow young boys to put there penis against or in her vagina. I yelled at them to stop but everyone in the room seemed to be in agreement with what was going on, so I walked out. "

You ask a Christian about the bible and you get an answer.
You ask a Jew about the Torah and you get an answer.
You ask a Muslim about the Koran(Quran) and you get an answer.
You ask a Scientologist about Dianetics and you get an answer when your check clears.

Anonymous is epic hypocrisy.- yodaclaus, on 01/28/2008, -2/+12The problem is that Scientology ISN'T free. Its oppressive even by modern religion standards. - genocideiscool, on 01/28/2008, -11/+1Yes information should be free. Free speech is essential. This should be true even if you are the CO$. This silly vandalism will solve nothing. It will only enable the CO$ to garner more sympathy.
In fact, epic persecution is a passage right for all religions.
This anon movement is so silly, I think it just may be a false flag operation by the Church of Scientology.- Ellipsys, on 01/28/2008, -0/+6No. It isn't a false flag operation. Co$ is already persecuted by other "SPs". They don't need Anon. And this isn't about vandalism. This is getting the word out.
- ifknot, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2@ insomniacal - you are CoS yes?
- IBMS, on 01/28/2008, -4/+199People don't reject the church because of their views.
They reject them because of the WAY in which they enforce those views and silence their critics.
Google "BBC Panorama - Scientology and Me" to see how Scientology try to harrass, intimidate and stalk their enemies like prey. They turn up at a journalists hotel even though he told nobody where he was staying. They send guys to follow him 24/7. They send blacked out cars to trail him everywhere.
Google "theunfunnytruth.ytmnd.com" to see the cover-ups that scientology has engaged in- JohnFrum, on 01/28/2008, -1/+16"People don't reject the church because of their views."
I do. Their views are bat ***** crazy and I reject them for it. Anything above that is just bonus rejection.
But I hear you. BBC Panorama - Scientology and Me was good.- IBMS, on 01/28/2008, -4/+4Well - lots of religions may have views which people consider "crazy."
People can believe whatever they want.. that is their right.
However, when they censor free speech, harrass, intimidate, murder and stalk those who oppose them.. that's when they violate OUR rights, and that's when WE should fight back.- megarobotguy, on 01/28/2008, -0/+4Of course most religions have some really crazy views. Take it how they are. You chose to be in it. If it doesn't work out leave right away. What is the most terrifying about scientology is that they both try to enslave you mentally and physically.
- JohnFrum, on 01/28/2008, -0/+5Not sure why you are being dug down. Not a bad comment really. I would just add that even though people have the right to believe what they want (and all, not just lots of, religions have crazy views) we have the right to call them on it and state, publicly if we wish, that they have crazy beliefs.
Free speech does not mean freedom from disrespect.
- OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -1/+0Anonymous supports FREE ZONE.
Free Zone is scientology based belief system but they dont believe in corporate profit, and selling religious texts for 300,000$.

- mithrasinvictus, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2Also note how the scientologist is playing him and gets exactly the response he was going for.
- IBMS, on 01/28/2008, -1/+8Yep - and they stalked him 24/7 for a whole week before he finally cracked
- tgc1, on 01/28/2008, -3/+2Other religions did this throughout history. Lookup "Heresy" -- then lookup the punishments that were brought upon those who were charged with Heresy. Basically questioning or doubting some of these religious positions. Same thing really. Enforcement of their position through fear. Sound familiar?
- IBMS, on 01/28/2008, -1/+3You might be right - but those crimes happened hundreds of years ago.
Scientology was invented only 60 years ago. Things are different now. We should live in a society that allows freedom of speech. People shouldn't have to be SCARED about speaking out against an organisation. They shouldn't be subject to threats and intimidation.
Scienology have tried to sue MANY people, including on the internet. They have threatened google, youtube, gawker.. who will be next?
- IBMS, on 01/28/2008, -1/+3You might be right - but those crimes happened hundreds of years ago.

- stealthbadger, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1The two are intertwined, in some very interesting ways. The right to communicate IS a human right.
- LemonDefragger, on 01/28/2008, -5/+36Is anyone else reminded of Ghost in the Shell's standalone complex by some of the video's assertions? Could it be that we're finally at that level of interconnectivity?
- TopherT, on 01/28/2008, -3/+4Maybe for the people who started Anon, IDK about us.
- cyrix, on 01/28/2008, -2/+13Yes, I have also said this before. There seems to have been many stories as of the past few months of "retaliation" of wrong doings and misinformation that have been orchestrated via the internet. It's amazing to watch just how much it has changed the way people organize and share ideals in fights to fix certain issues.
- Waterrat, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1 It's a great thing to watch, that's for sure...Those in power behind the scenes who might have been concerned about the populous banning together to make a statement are REALLY going to be worried now..
if we can do this, what else can we do?
- Waterrat, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1 It's a great thing to watch, that's for sure...Those in power behind the scenes who might have been concerned about the populous banning together to make a statement are REALLY going to be worried now..
- OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -1/+13Anonymous is the best organization in the world to take down Scientology. Scientology operates with its hardball team of millionare lawyers; well they cant sue annonymous. They could dig up some and spend their days sueing 5-10 anonymous..... 10 more will take his/her place...
- genocideiscool, on 01/28/2008, -5/+0Yes but how does that impede their operation? They are still gonna recruit people. Anon has achieved nothing. Anon can achieve nothing. Non-violent protest is the only solution.
- credence, on 01/28/2008, -0/+6You're falling into the trap of thinking of Anon as a unit. It isn't. That's the point. People do what they can do and what the feel comfortable doing. Hit youtube for Scientology and you'll see lots of protest vids taking place outside of Sci HQs (similar to our future event on the 2/10, perhaps). Yes, there are more aggressive attacks going on - the blackfaxes, the DDOSing, the phonespam - but those are only a single appendage of the Anonymous mass. Anonymous is a swarm. Each member will try to meet the same goals using their own abilities. With enough of them putting in enough dedication, sooner or later they will succeed.
- OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1Genoicide. Anonymous is in it for the long haul. Simple DDoS attacks are a front of this war, not the entirety. Anonymous is taking it to the streets every day and culminating on the 10th of February, and even then the war is not over. It will go on for months to come.
- Xenufield, on 01/28/2008, -0/+0Yes because non-violence solves everything, especially against violent groups.
All it's going to take isa person in a high position in the government to have a family member lost due to shady scientology actions, and you'll see something that makes WACO look like a picnic.
Altho the easiest way to see Scientology wiped out is find a way to repeal their tax exempt status, because they will refuse to pay, and there is nothing more terrifying than the IRS when they want their money. Not even Hilary Clinton naked.
- asurroca, on 01/28/2008, -3/+2The other bonus: they can't slander Anon or ruin Anon's career...Imagine how many are wowfags living in basements who run anime stores...
just saying...- mrjit, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2More like imagine how many are professional network/sys engineers.
- genocideiscool, on 01/28/2008, -5/+0Yes but how does that impede their operation? They are still gonna recruit people. Anon has achieved nothing. Anon can achieve nothing. Non-violent protest is the only solution.
- colonelbasket, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1entirely. this is so amazing to see such events unfolding in front of us. this will be remembered.
- Waterrat, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1 And it's only the beginning....We have not even got warmed up yet.
- allisonaxe, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3I've been thinking about that, too. Anonymous is like a very interesting collective consciousness, in that its made up of a countless many individual voices, most of which have no identity on any of the others, and yet, somehow, the chaos of it all melds into what it is, which is actually a frighteningly efficient 'machine' for causing more chaos, which also serves anonymous to grow even more legion.
I think, in a way, this is a form of evolution we're seeing with this... and i'm sure many people don't understand how truly groundbreaking it is.- Waterrat, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1 Maybe they don't get it now now,but in a few months they will..they will indeed.
We have all underestimated the power the Internet offers us and now we are truly beginning to use it to it's full potential.
This rocks!

- Hollic, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3If you'll kindly take a look at exhibit A, what we have here is a video of Anon doing something in the real world. Your point fails to gain support. Move back 5 spaces.

There needs to be a poem of this, like the gunpowder plot.

Dianetics, treason and plot.

i think i'll see what its all about - Berkana, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2Old L. Ron Hubbard
Went to the cupboard
To find Dianetics a home (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dianetics )
and to his surprise
what he found was inside
was an e-meter there all alone. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-meter )
So he set up a table
and as much as was able,
gave stress tests to all passers by
and one by one slowly
the ignorant lowly
did see their own cash swiftly fly.
And soon Ron was stoked
with legions of blokes
and celebrity jokes all around (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_cruise )
with thetans a purging (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thetans )
a cult was emerging
Scientology swiftly gained ground.
But some tried to leave,
and this Ron did grieve,
on them "Fair Game" he declaired. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Game_%28Scientol ... )
with goons at command
the command was at hand
to strike them swift unprepared.
This did continue
through many a venue
through Narconon, Delphian too. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narconon , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphian_School )
operation snow white (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Snow_White )
displayed how they fight
the list of their victims thus grew. (http://whyaretheydead.net/ )
Some SPs got killed, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suppressive_person )
free speech then got chilled,
all of this observed by anon. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCbKv9yiLiQ )
We raised a cry
this cult to defy
to fight them until they are gone.
The war was declared,
their server not spared, (http://www.digg.com/security/Hackers_brutalize_Sci ... )
The MSM echoed the news (http://www.digg.com/politics/NBC_Group_wants_to_de ... )
beware of their lies
and intentions disguised
for slavery you must not choose.
So 2/10/08
show up at their gate
with protesting pickets in hand
exposing their lies
deprive them their prize
and justice for victims demand.

- HiKevinRose, on 01/28/2008, -7/+14This is going to really assist the media and the social advocates in spreading the word accurately. Kudos to Anonymous for knowing and providing for what we need.
Hopefully Scientology isn't monitoring social news sites. They could insta-bury this.- Berkana, on 01/28/2008, -0/+4I'm pretty sure they are monitoring social news sites. A bunch of Scientology related articles got buried yesterday shortly after they hit the front page.
- kaskarn, on 01/28/2008, -6/+49I think they are quite well spoken and sound very mature for a "bunch of teenage hackers". It does give them credibility.
- tldr15, on 01/28/2008, -0/+3lol. you may have been joking, but let's be clear. "a bunch of teenagers" is the furthest thing from what they are.
- HunterSeeker42, on 01/28/2008, -4/+3Your kidding yourself. Maybe older people have some part in this, but Anon is mostly college kids and high schoolers (most of them lacking a life).
Anon is both freakishly childish and scarily grownup, though.- Waterrat, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1 We will see who they are in feb.

- SaladCactusKing, on 01/28/2008, -5/+73One fantastic weapon against the Church of Scientology is the "Free Zone" movement. Essentially, they're people who believe in Scientology, but don't charge for it and let everybody read everything. They hit the church where it hurts, their pocketbooks. As weird as it would be to have allies who believe in Xenu and Teegeeack and all that, I think they'd do a great service to our cause.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Zone_%28Scientol ...- Berkana, on 01/28/2008, -0/+2I read in some article that the Church of Scientology has declared these folks "heretics", and fiercely opposes them.
I wonder what "Free Zone" folks think of L. Ron Hubbard, since he essentially founded their belief, but also started the organization and tactics used by the Church of Scientology. - RickS2, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1Why support their crazy views?

Find out WHY they are an evil cult and then protest, rather than just stupidly trying to "annoy people." - solid12345, on 01/28/2008, -2/+1I don't know a single scientologist and probably neither do you. The reach of this cult is overstated.
- warrenterr, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1shut up. It's fun.
- ours, on 01/28/2008, -0/+6Try this instead: I was between jobs, walking to the gym. On the way there I walked in front of the Scientology Inc. offices (it's on a busy walking street). Then, while waiting for the streetlight some poor brainwashed fool comes to me. He politely asks if I have time and when I agree to answer a few questions he asks a few vague questions about my life. He, of course concludes I should come for a free analysis. When he seemed done, I politely requested if I could ask a few questions of my own as I had given him some of my time. My questions where not overly offensive, they concerned their policy of attacking free speech on the web. He responded it was self defense, like any other religion he claimed. I insisted that I failed to see any other religion using copyright laws to censor internet content. I never lost my calm, or went openly offensive but the guy just shut down like a machine. His only response was "come to our offices talk to our PR" (paraphrasing). I insisted a little bit and he snapped that you don't just go to a church and start asking questions to someone. I replied pointing to the nearest Christian church that yes I could just go there and ask stuff to the priest. Anyway, I told him I didn't go in his "church", he came to me in a public place asking me questions. He turned around and left.
No need for violence people, just go and waist their time, politely ask them taboo questions. Just given them enough rope, they'll hang themselves.- OnlyIcanSaveYou, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1The best pranks on scientologists are LEGITIMATE questions.
- peestandingup, on 01/28/2008, -14/+2Great, but lets see some real action already, damn it.
- notque, on 01/28/2008, -0/+12Then protest at a Scientology office on the 10th.
