I love the Mexican people, but their government sucks. It is a corrupted dictatorship where the people have no rights.
It is guilty until proven innocent, no right to a speedy trial. It can take years. You can be thrown in jail for being in a car accident. A family lost their father when he died in jail from a collision and they didn't give him any medical treatment. It wasn't his fault wither. Both parties go to jail and you're lucky if you come out alive.
Yet they allow all of their gangs and Narcos to have guns, but not their people.
This is why they are a 3rd world country and we are not. We are free!
We started out pretty much the same way and time, but down there, they took all of the guns and power from the people.
We should appreciate our freedom more.
Hopefully our government will have some pull since he is military, bu this happens a lot to non-military and it needs to change.
Whenever they need our help we are there for them.
You have to be very careful crossing the border. Even an empty spent shell will land you in jail.
They should allow immediate U-Turns for people to bail out that made a wrong turn.
Whenever I go down to visit family, I always make sure I have no bullets in my truck.
Yet, when they come here with guns, we don't arrest and imprison them.
In San Diego a uniformed police officer crossed the border because his wife was in the hospital and he didn't think about it.
He was simply disarmed and escorted to the border by police.
NO PRISON!
Come on Mexico, wake up!
Treat our people as well as we treat yours.
Even when criminals cross the border illegally here, we send them back. We do not throw them in prison! - CaptainAmerica1, on 04/29/2008, -0/+3Just another example of the blatant hypocrisy in which Mexico is engaged.
- IconoclastStill, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Unfortunately, it would require a huge portion of our GNP to jail every illegal who hopped the border. We need that fence and we need it NOW. Simultaneously, we go after the vermin who hire, house and otherwise enable illegals to stay here. Once those two pieces are in place, we root out all those who remain, ship them south and make sure they never come back.
- Christianptriot, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1Somehow this will be a test case for some aspect of the North American merger, SPP, that we see coming our way - we Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, but they do NOT in Mexico.
FTA: "The newspaper said that Medina Torres said he'd bought the guns years before and had all the proper permits. However possession of firearms in Mexico is illegal and strictly controlled."
We have the right, but Mexicans do NOT. So at some point when the merger is drawing closer one of two things will have to happen: either Mexicans and Canadians get that right back, OR we Americans have to sacrifice some or all of ours.
